Great content! People do not realize how much work is involved in party planning and preparation. And cannot reinforce the tip: listen to the bride, not her friends, what friends want not always is what bride wants. It's her day.

I'm not planning for anything right now, but this is very helpful if anything ever comes up, thank you, Tracy! I did go to a baby shower a few weeks ago and I thought a few things they did were good ideas. One was name tags, which are always helpful, next to the name tags they had blank envelopes in a small box. These were the envelopes that went with the mom-to-be's thank you notes. All the guests self-addressed one of the envelopes so all the busy mom-to-be has to do is write the thank you note and not worry about searching for addresses she may not have. The last thing was instead of a sign-in book, they had set out a "Little Golden" story book that all the guests signed. I thought that was a cute idea.

Holy moly I'm shocked!! Bridal showers must be a huge deal in the states! I've never heard of such a production for a shower Haha! I'm in Canada and have never attended a shower that was a big event like that, even my own! Generally they are always in someone's home or in an amenity room, with cheap decorations and snacks, and cupcakes. You could throw a shower here for $100 or less everything included!

Thanks for replying! I read the comment 🙂. I guess it generally is more common in the US to have larger parties. I guess it's also a smaller production here because showers are generally the brides mom/mom in law, grandma's, aunts, and then the brides closest friends, so generally showers are no more then 30 people here! Loved this video! I’m getting married May 2020 also! (My second marriage) I would love if you did a wedding series tips. I’m using a couple of check list from planners I purchased. I seem to be ahead of the game in planning just hoping I don’t forget anything.

Having alcoholic beverages plays into the potential venue as well. I recently attended a bridal shower held at our church's fellowship hall. Pros were large space with commercial kitchen and no cost to rent. But we're Baptists so no alcohol allowed. My own bridal shower was held at the clubhouse in my subdivision. There was a sizable deposit required, but the actual cost if you don't wreck the place is small! Also, the rental contract doesn’t allow alcohol.

Great video as always . Trace how do you handle a bride that does not thank you for any presents that were given to her . And how do you approach a party where there’s no service at the table and it does seem like the guest were not taking in to consideration whatsoever and there’s not even a wedding cake at the event . We have been to a party where a lot of people were not happy about the service . Did not how to handle the conversations going around .

Hi Laura! I am not sure how to handle the unappreciative Bride. I hate to say this, but it makes me wonder if she even knew the importance of sending Thank You's. Too often people just are unaware. It may be a poor excuse, but it makes one wonder. As for the lack of service, If it were me, I would help myself in whatever area I was not getting service and offer to help the other people at the table. I would not, however engage in negative conversation about the lack-of with other members at the table. It is not the place and it would be a poor reflection of me more so than the Bride and Groom. I would make every effort to keep everyone in a positive disposition. Great question. Thank you for submitting it.

You are going to have a beautiful shower for her! But I have to wonder why showers are such a big production in the US. Where I’m from originally we bring a gift, drink wine, eat a light meal, cake, in a family members living room or backyard. Not much planning needed. Guess I will have to step it up for my daughter now that I’m in the States.

Hi Louise! The US notoriously glamorizes many events. I will say that. On the other hand, weddings generally have 100+ guests ... which makes for bridal showers to be larger. This prevent having the shower in a home.

We would only invite close relatives, and close friends to the shower, not some person you only see a couple of times per year, and certainly not all the females invited to the wedding. Also, it's typical to have one shower from each side of the family, though usually the moms and sisters would be invited to both. It's interesting to see what the traditions are in each country or region. Same with grad parties, but that's a whole other topic!

I have a question for you, since I very much admire your work ethic and view you as an excellent role model in this regard - what is your main motivation as a self-employed business owner? Are you mostly motivated by financial security/growth, by helping others or something else? I've only worked for corporations, and find it very natural to always keep the company's best in mind (partly because of a sense of duty, I believe), but I am curious to know what pushes you to keep on striving. I have a question, do you invite those to the wedding that you invited to the shower? I went to a couples shower and wedding and they did not.

Yes, you do. You never invite someone to the shower if they are not on the Wedding Guest List. All shower attendees expect that they will be attending the wedding.

Tracy, I live in AZ and am flying back home to TN for a bridal shower. Do you have any suggestions on an appropriate way to tell guests that gift cards and money are the best types of gifts for me since I will not be able to fly home with them and shipping is very expensive for heavy items? How do you suggest we approach this and keep it classy? thank you 💛💛

If it's not too late and the invites have not been mailed, I would encourage you to have the Hostesses that are throwing your shower put this information on the invite. This is very appropriate in this day and age. Many brides run into this very thing. If the invites have already been mailed, I would encourage the hostess to kindly get the word out.

Really, I thought the maid of honor does that with the brides money. Some brides can be difficult and it can be expensive. Wedding/bridal showers should be the responsibility of the couple to be. That financial burden should not be on the Aunts, and other relatives, friends.Teaching the young couple to be at the very beginning to live within their means is very important. Now if their is a relative that is helping to pay for the food or hall then there is no additional gifts. That relative is paying for her hair, makeup, nails, dress, shoes, accessories, maybe transportation to attend the wedding.
