5 Tips to Survive as a College Freshman

Good advice dude. I find It's best to think of college as a nine to five job. It is your job to do as much work as you can in a day with as little instruction from your boss(instructor) as possible. I like to do all my work the day it is assigned if it's possible because then I don't end up with a massive backup of work to do right before a midterm or final.

If I could just add a few things as a fellow college student it would be that make sure to carefully read over the class syllabus and to make sure to not misplace it. The syllabus is your best friend. I've had plenty of courses where the syllabus had dates for essays and tests, all of which the professor never mentioned through out the entire class. You were just expected to know of them because they were in the syllabus. Also take advantage of a professors office hours if you need extra help.

Nice tips! I'm going to be in college pretty soon because I'm going to be a senior this year! Class of 2012 baby! I actually just got my senior pictures taken today. In case you're wondering where I'm looking to apply for college, I've been looking at St. Louis University, University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, and St. Norbert College (which is in De Pere, WI).

I wouldn't necessarily say that one is undeniably better than the other. If you're used to Windows, you don't want to buy a Mac and be trying to adjust to a new operating system at the same time as you're adjusting to college.

A desktop computer? If you're moving to campus, yeah. I'd bring my desktop. If you have a laptop, even better. If you need the computer for multimedia projects or something, then DEFINITELY.
