About 25 years ago I was doing recon for a new golf course adjacent to a piece of property where the Army did off-road training. I was in a 3/4-ton Suburban and we came across a trail where we had to balance on the center and one side to keep the rear axle from getting high-centered. At one point we had to use a come-along to get freed up. Anyway, midway through our little outing a trio of Humvees came past us and one of them went nose first into one of the deepest ruts. He did not make it out. The other Humvees were unable to extricate him. Our only way out was now blocked. So about an hour goes by and we hear these awful diesel sound and trees crashing off in the distance. This monster 5-ton comes in just barreling through the woods and yanks the Humvee out in one jerk. It was truly something to see.

We used a big rope for this recovery. Freedom Ropes corr.rocks/freedomropes We are On the Road Again, this time with a Flash Back Video to Trail Hero 2021. We decided to catch some fun footage that turned into some not some fun times after the 5 ton went down in a hole along the edge of the lake. A few scary moments when a shackle broke and a bit of Carnage to the Old Girl. We got it back to the shop and all fixed up to have it ready for the UTV Takeover Event. We have been on the Trail Hero Event with a 1 week break and then Working the UTV Takeover! We are the Official Off Road Recovery Company of UTV Takeover so we had to work hard and fast to have it ready for the event, so that is why this vid is a bit late! Thanks for coming along for the ride and Thanks for Watching.

Bridle to both tow points? Yes. Back in the day we used a cable bridle attached to the rear suspension trunnions run under the front drive axle then run under the front axle up to the front of the truck. It was supported and stayed attached to the truck. When the cat towed it was lifting the axles out of the mud from underneath not trying to tear the truck apart lengthways. Probably absolutely not needed in the desert country unless Randy drives in the lake mud agin....
