A lot of things to disagree with as a Magic fan 1) DeRozan would further cripple this team by shrinking the floor further and he's 30 years old. Our FO has said they want to rebuild this team the right way and not try to take shortcuts which is exactly what trading our young guys for a SG scoring 2 more ppg on much worse overall efficiency than our current one. 2) The Magic has become extremely tight-lipped with the new front office we hired 4 years ago. Zero of the rumors have come true, except for trading for Fultz but predicting that is hacky journalism at its best. You could have found just as many people suggesting the Suns trade for him just because both teams needed a PG and the timelines match up. 3.There is no reason to believe the team doesn't want Mo Bamba. We drafted him 2 years ago. Two years ago. He's 21 years old. He barely played his rookie season because of an injury. He came into the league at ~220 pounds. He is not anywhere near ready to start. 4. Markelle Fultz has been very good at almost everything besides shooting the three ball. Look at how high his efficiency has skyrocketed and look at his free throw percentage. 5. I have no idea why you think Vucevic is so terrible, he put up 21/12/4 last year with much improved defense and good efficiency for a guy whose offensive game is as varied as his. 6. Terrence Ross is almost the sole reason we were above 500 last year. 7. Fultz is having an objectively better season than Isaiah Thomas, especially scoring the ball. 8. Aaron Gordon is 24. Fultz is 21. Bamba is 21. Isaac is 22. We had a 17 win improvement last year and finished 7th after being stuck at the 13th seed for 6 years so I have no idea where this idea that we are "stuck" at around the 8th seed is coming from. It's based on absolutely nothing other than us finishing around that last year and being at it right now 21 games into the 82 game season. 9. You clown us for trading young players who looked painfully average in a Magic jersey for a player like Serge Ibaka and then immediately go on to suggest we should do the same exact thing again. Not sure what you want from the team. 10. The entire team got off to a shaky start but in our last 10 games we have the 14th OFFRTG in the league. That's better than Boston, Philly, Minnesota, San Antonio, Brooklyn and Utah. We are not as desperate for offense as you'd like to think. Love the videos MDJ but I would suggest consulting with the fans of a team before making videos like this to get a better understanding of the teams situation. It's unrealistic to expect you to fully understand what is going on with all 30 teams and I think it would prevent a lot of headaches in the comments.

A couple of things as a Magic fan: This team gets very misunderstood by everyone outside Orlando and I don’t blame you, we made the playoffs last year and only got 1 nationally televised game this year. 1. Vucevic’s contract is very team friendly, it’s front loaded which makes him actually very tradeable, especially the farther into the tenure you go, however I don’t think the front office has any plans to trade him anyways. They penned him for 4 years for a reason. 2. You can put make assumptions for what the current front office will do based on the past decisions. Orlando has a GM+President tandem of John Hammond and Jeff Weltman, a former Executive of the Year winner who drafted Giannis and the man partially responsible for turning the Raptors from bottom feeders to a team only bested by Lebron James for years. Every bad trade you’ve mentioned was the doing of fmr GM Rob Hennigan, and we hate them too, believe me. 3. Terrence Ross is not a bum like so many seem to think he is. He’s accepted a much needed role of scoring off the bench and he does it well, I can honestly say that he was the X-factor for why we made the playoffs at all last year. He was also resigned for 13mil a year, which is still 2mil less than the Knicks were willing to pay Bobby freaking Portis and a 30 year old Marcus Morris. Not to mention that last year he made more threes than any other bench player in NBA history in a single season. 4. Finally, on the Isaiah Thomas bit, Thomas was close to signing with Orlando for last season, but our front office ultimately decided he wasn’t worth the trouble. I doubt that sentiment has changed.

Outside view of the Magic, I think they need to find a SG/SF that fits them. They like their core apparently and some of the trades I saw didn't make sense (DeMar is the opposite of what they want, no 3 or D, and D Lo wouldn't be bad but he'd need the ball, making Fultz worse (the Magic value Fultz, seen by how they have handled his situation and how he's starting for them already). I'm guessing they want length, and have Bamba replace Vucevic by the end of his contract. So all that said, it limits them a lot. Most of the options they'd want would cost too much or are considered untouchable right now. Big thing is, they aren't contenders, and they're finally looking to just grow into one. I think they're going to wait on a good player or another project.

It's not that easy for the Magic to make the playoffs though... I mean with the current level of the East it's hard to imagine anyone replacing them in the top 8, but if the Hawks and the Bulls improve next year they could be better... I think the sense behind the making of this video is because Orlando acted in the free-agency as if they had a playoff team but they're actually struggling to have a good record. That said I also think that thay shouldn't make desperate trades, maybe just something small to improve the offense as much as possible.

MDJ this is about the aaron Gordon- Crabbe trade. You do realize the hawks have a line that goes around the block with that tweener/wing position. You got bembry, parsons, ET, Vince, cam reddish, deandre hunter, Jabari Parker, huerter.... not to mention you got John Collins (you can argue he’s a small ball 5 I know) who’s gonna come back later and get some minutes at the 4 as well. I really like the idea of Aaron Gordon and D Augustin for D'Lo. Some said that D'Lo is an all-star in the east, not the west and I agree with that and Orlando has a bunch of young players which I think would mesh well with d'lo. Magics would still be a playoff team for the most part. Also for those who don't know, Gordon is from the bay area, golden state warriors is a bay area team. I also really like the Idea of Gordon as the new starting small forward, and keep Draymond at the 4. O-O Oh God. Please Make This Happen!

I really like the D-Lo to the Warriors idea. This is my personal idea. EDIT: This is not counting salary matches. I know this wouldn’t work money wise, but I was just thinking about the value. Warriors trade: D-Lo Magic trade: Mo Bamba, Al Faruq-Aminu, 2 1st rounders For the Magic: The Magic get good scoring here in D-Lo, but maybe more than that, a good point guard. I know Markelle Fultz has been good this year but for a team that wants to be competitive right now he’s not it. Yet. For the Warriors: Mo Bamba has the potential to turn into a great player, it was hudt injuries and inconsistent playing time hurt him last year. If played right I think that he’ll be a really good player, plus the Warriors need a center. Once Klay and Steph are back and this team is at least semi competitive, they will need a solid bench. Al Faruq-Aminu will add bench depth and defense to the Warriors which they need. Plus the two firsts could be nice.l

I will say the improvement the Magic will have to make is around the offense. Currently we are sitting at the 8th seed with the current roster. Offensive efficiency is the issue. I can see the Magic trading Aaron Gordon to improve the offense. Also, the DMDR trades to Orlando is not what I’m looking forward to if that happens. Sure he’s a scorer in his own right. He doesn’t improve the perimeter 3 ball by a long shot. I’m on the Jrue Holiday Express. At least he brings some offense as well as some defense and will be more motivated to play on a frenge playoff team.

It's so early in the season it's hard to tell how a system will work later down the line. The magic have already jumped to 24th in offensive rating and I expect it will go up to top 15 before the season ends. No reason to panic and dump all their young players.

The major needs are a consistent scorer and getting rid of Gordon. The Russell trade would work, but GSW would need to take Gordon, Fournier and maybe a 1st round pick. That keeps your future in tact, lightens the salary tied up and works both ways. DeRozan is old, gallanari is aged and injury prone, and they had a chance to sign Thomas as a free agent and didn't. So, they definitely won't trade for him.

As a magic fan. I do not believe we need to move Bamba. He is a sophomore. He a is a project player. He is intelligent. And he was malnourished af when we got him, he is only now coming into his body. He will develop even more. I’m willing to be patient, vooch is not gonna need to play 30 minutes for 4 years. Vooch gives us the ability to not have Bamba in every situation, or playing 30 minutes a game. If we played Bamba 30 minutes a game now or even next year, I don’t think he would stay healthy. Just willing to patient with him, the passing of Markelle makes a player like Bamba very interesting in my mind

I have a feeling that you may be overvaluing Aaron Gordon. His IQ isn’t the highest, his offence is average at best, he’s a solid defender but he may not be worth the money (one positive is that his contract is front loaded so it will go down) but overall I don’t think GMs will really value him that highly.

Aaron Gordon doesn’t insist on playing small forward. He plays there out of necessity because no one else in their front court has the ballskills and shooting to. He doesn’t fully have it but he’s the closest they’ve got. Also he’s logged less than a quarter of his time at the three this year. I love your videos man, but that take was unjustified

I think the Warriors will wait to trade Russell until the offseason and they'll package him with their lottery pick. I am not sure Gordon makes a ton of sense on a team with Draymond anyway. What they really need is a true small forward.
