To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. kzbin.infoUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

I would also love some repairability info, since these earbuds are not cheap and for those prices people would like them to last, and not throw them away in the garbage bin after 2-3 years when batteries go flat (for example, what kind of batteries are used by certain earphones to know how cheap and easy can they be replaced). But I agree that's more of iFixit's and JerryRig's milieu.

Listened to this video on my now falling apart powerbeats 2. Damn your voice sounds good. Crystal clear audio, better than real life. How bad are they falling apart? the overear broke off, the flat cable started to swell from the wires moving so much, the controls buttons broke off, leaving a circuit board exposed and inability to use them, mic also broke, the right bud broke off from the thing that holds the battery (I've glued it back into place twice). And they still sound good....... Listening with the right one dangling from a cable. I need new headphones as you can see. edit: also the audio software is fucked up as i can't use phone/pc volume rocker to turn them up anymore so i get lower than usual volumes. I can however grab a key and bridge the contacts on the board to trigger a "button press" and turn the volume to max then just lower my device audio.

I use the Sabbat E12 they're great! $80 wireless charging case, USB-C, water resistance(IPX5), great sound, good battery life. Only thing I wish they had. Is a little wing like the Galaxy buds.

There's no sound isolation with the thing. You hear too much of the background noise compared to the Aukey EP-B40 and KZ ZS3. They also fail to rest properly in my ears compared to those two.

I have Airpods for home use because it's just so convenient and it's quiet at home so I don't need to worry about surrounding noises. For outdoors I used my BeatsX. I wanted the simple bluetooth connectivity that the W1 chip gave and I prefer having a neck piece because I am convinced that if I were to wear true wireless buds out I'd lose them on the first day.

The galaxy buds battery life is good for me. Never had an empty battery on them in practice. Sound quality could be better but the price is also not the highest anyway

Jabra excuse for using micro USB is a no go. IconX from yesteryear is already using USB C And while I do own one, I didn't get why people love 65t so much

I agree but unfortunately I don't see budget-level TWS fully transitioning to USB Type C in the next few years. Astrotec had a Type C earbud (the S60, which also supports wireless charging) but decided for MicroUSB in their S80 which might have been due to cost. It's also important to note that even if you have type C they don't usually support power delivery with Type C to Type C cables. It's a poorer excuse for A-list brands like Jabra and Audio-Technica though. iPhone/older Android useres don't care much about it either since they'd still need to carry one or two cables anyways. I like the usability features and stable connection of the Jabra, but the sound quality (imbalanced hiss and distortion from the left bud) and seal is disappointing.

because they're extremely good. I only have to charge the case once a week and they charge in like 30 minutes. I would love for them to be Type-C. It almost caused me to not buy them, but it's bee a non issue.

I think the Anker Soundcore Lifenote (the ones I own right now) are very decent for just $70. While the case is a decent size, it's slippery and can easily slip out of your hand because if it's smooth plastic material. Even if it does fall, (I constantly drop the case) one thing is that while the case doesn't crack or break, the lid easily opens and it makes the earbuds fall out of the case and onto the floor. As for audio quality, I think the sound is very nice and solid but could use just a little more, but I think that they're very good and well designed. They don't have touch controls but do have buttons that don't press into your ear when you push on them, and they feel very light weighted in your ears as well. As for the dropping of the actual earbuds from your ear, it all depends on the eartips you have on the earbud, if you have the right size then they won't fall out for most of the time to at all. The noise isolation/cancelling feature is very good while sometimes there are some leakages, but I find this to be good if you still want to hear others while wearing these. The battery life is extremely good with a 6 to 6.5 hours out of the said 7 hours. Oh and the calls are extremely good! They're very clear and solid sounding. This is what I personally think but I highly recommend these if you're looking for an airpods alternative under $100.

Rockin the Samsung Galaxy Buds and Rowkin Ascent 2 Charge + right now. Sennheiser would have easily made my lineup over the Rowkins but the issues I had with the earbuds and case draining battery during standby periods was ridiculous. I had to factory reset them numerous times because the ear buds wouldn't connect after dying. Had to send them back.

I've always value comfort over quality. You can give me the best sounding earbuds but if I can't wear them for an hour, they're useless to me.I was looking at the Airpods, Bose Soundsport, Powerbeats Pro, Jabra Elite and the Galaxy Buds. Airpods Now, I've always loved the style of the Airpods. They're comfortable in my ears and they have a decent bass. I've never liked earbuds that goes inside my ear canal. I find them uncomfortable thus, I call them ear dildos. The reason why i returned them is because they fall out of my ears from time to time and I have an android phone. I use my earbuds to workout but if you use the airpods for casual listening they're great. Powerbeats Pro They have the greatest sound quality out of the 4 earbuds I've tried. I listen to a lot of hip-hop and the bass is just crazy! The ear hook makes it secure aswell and they look fantastic. Unfortunately, I'm looking for an earbud that I can use at the gym, at work or casual listening. The reason why I returned them is because I wear glasses and when I'm using it for casual listening, my ear gets uncomfortable. However, if you don't wear glasses and you're looking for a great workout earbuds, these are for you. Bose Soundsport Wow! These earbuds are amazing! They're comfortable, they're sweatproof and they sound amazing. I liked the style where it doesn't go all the way the ear canal. My girlfriend wanted a wireless earbuds so I gave it to her. Galaxy Buds I was shocked. I put them on and wow! I didn't even feel like they were inside my ears. They're weightless and they look discreet. I've worn them for hours and only felt ear fatigue after 7 hours. This is coming from an ear dildos hater so it tells you how comfortable they are. Out of the box, the quality weren't the best. After, playing with the equalizer, I was surprised they almost sound like the powerbeats!! On the android go to settings > sounds > advanced sound > sound quality. Make sure Dolby Atmos is turned on. Put the equalizer to full bass and put the instrumental to mid. Go to your Galaxy Buds App and change the Equalizer to Dynamic. Now you're gonna have a nice bass and a well balance mids and high. I'm extremely happy with this purchase. I love love them.

I also have the Galaxy buds and, as you claimed, they really are very nice earbuds. The only things is, their battery is rated to 6 hours, and the closest I got was almost 5 hours. How the heck did you get 7 hours of listening time?

@@gabrielsimonetti967 I work at a quiet place and I only put them on at 60% volume. Sometimes, I have to pause the music and just use the ambient mode.

I use the Uplift 2 wireless from House of Marley as my daily drivers. They are not made for workouts, but I have been using them for that anyway. Decent battery life and a very confortable design for a non-true wireless pair of buds. For true-wireless, however, I'm gravitating towards the Galaxy Buds.
