I worked at a Guitar Center. You forgot the “kid with parents that let their kids do anything” where the kids just bash the drums super loudly and their parents don’t do a damn thing.

I work at GC right now, can confirm both video and comment. We purposely changed to only demoing electronic kits to save some noise, but (like guitarists and bassists) they just keep turning it up A L L T H E TIME

I swear that everyone who uses the drum room at my school are all number 5. Which is a domino effect cause then you have to #5 it back to a normal setup and we all just turn everything upside down by the end

My schools drums is set for right handed players so I gotta move them around for left handed but I always set them back right handed when I'm done bit if my teacher says it's ok I'll leave them like that

@@thIDthIRreenactor hey better to play comfortably than to get used to an uncomfortable setup, although i personally taught myself to lead with both hands (am a right-handed person) and now i like having my ride cymbal by my high tom because i can play it comfortably with both hands

Dude I swear some of the people that set up the drum kit at my school are blind. Came into the practice room once and the kit stretched out to some ungodly length, the bass pedal was completely fucked (in the sense that the beater was touching the bass drum, which made it hard as hell to play on), and the amp (which is usually sitting on a table, and we have one at my school because the kit is electric) had fallen over

😂😂 „jazz snob” and „the kid right after school” is so on point 😀. But the funniest fact is that all these other musicians who you describe as: „the guy who know just this one bit” - they literally know only THIS PARTICULAR beat 😂. Like if the description „This one beat” can only be used to literally this one and none of the the others 😀.

All of these were accurate. Went to a performing arts high school, played guitar, best friend was a drummer, the after school shed shit is so accurate I felt like it was HS all over again... I may or may not be the sax player but just as a guitarist lol

That last one is so true! I play drums and whoever is in there before me has the snare tilted so high up and the cymbal so close to the snare it’s right in front of my face. And every time I go in there, he leaves it like that so someone else can fix it.

🤣 I have been told by a GC worker before that I was the only one who played the acoustic kit for so long without him having to tell them to stop. It took many times of me being told over the years before I realized how to do be properly dynamic and not disturb the working enviromment, lol...I still love to go in there whenever and jam out for 30+ minutes
