Hi Nick, it's been really cool to see you talk with so much passion again these last two months :). I already had the first two in my watchlist (though none of my local theatres screened them at the time of release :( ) and I just added the other three ! Sing Sing looks amazing ngl, I had never heard of it.

When people say “there are no good movies anymore” what they’re really saying is 4 things: 1) “I only watch popular movies” 2) “only popular movies can be good” 3) “most popular movies haven’t been good in the past decade” 4) “I’m unwilling to expand my horizons despite that”

Been hyping up Sing Sing since I got extremely lucky to see it at an amc screen unseen almost two months ago. And it breaks my spirit that A24 absolutely botched the release for this film for no reason. I can absolutely guarantee that that screening is the only one of this film that’s happened in my town since. It’s so damn good and A24 really doesn’t want the world to see it somehow. The painfully small percentage of theaters getting this has been heartbreaking to me. I’ve been aching to watch it again. But thank you for talking about it so the people who are fortunate enough to have it play near them can check it out. It’s my favorite movie of the year so far.

I loved Sing Sing! I remember coming out of the theater wondering why Domingo and Maclin's performances were so acclaimed until it hit me. It felt so real. I never felt like I was watching a bunch of actors but rather a bunch of real people doing real things. Phenomenal movie

Great video as always Nick! I’m definitely adding these to my list. Another movie I found to be quite underrated this year was Kneecap, about the rise of a recent Irish hip hop group out of west Belfast. If you’re sick of music biopic movies, this is the one for you. It’s raunchy, it’s clever, it’s innovative, it’s funny, and, most importantly, it actually has a damn thing to say unlike most of the other garbage biopics coming out these days. Seriously check it out.

I don’t exactly actively follow the modern movie zeitgeist, but a movie I wish was more actively glazed is Didi. Now personally I can’t resonate on the deepest level because I didn’t grow up in the era it tries to capture, but the narrative is just that powerful that I still loved it. Probably hands down one of the best films I’ve seen this year.

I would like to watch Problemista in the movie theater, but first I have to check if the nuovo art cinema movie theater of my country even bothers showing the movie in at least ONE WEEK window, then I have to drive three hours to get to the theater. All this because my local movie theaters only show the most popular movies out there and let face it, some of them are not very good.
