Request for one more WIM video: we've spent a lot of time talking about what a woman's role is not, but it would be so helpful to hear teaching on what the feminine calling really is, in the church, marriage, parenting, the community, business, politics, etc. Too often we assume malicious intent in women who struggle with these matters: they're rebellious, rad feminists who hate men, hate authority, and want to wield power. But so many women really raise questions out of genuine hurt and confusion. It can seem that the bible is teaching that men are necessarily morally/spiritually superior, hence why only they can have these positions of spiritual authority. Popular books like Lies Young Women Believe teach that women are more sinful. Are women less able to please God? Why would God create half the population to be more easily deceived/less rational/etc. as many people I've heard claim? Women are starving for a biblical presentation of God's vision for womanhood. One that encompasses singles as well as wives. All I've ever heard from the pulpit on this subject is a stand-up routine about how the pastor's wife can always find his car keys. Fun story, I guess, but it's superficial. We really need something substantial here. If we want women to embrace their role, we need to clearly define it and not just vaguely declare that it has equal value; we need to specifically demonstrate that value. I think Pastor Mike could do a great job of this. Thanks for your ministry!

I'm almost totally egalitarian. That said, I keep to myself, so all this is just academic to me personally. you wrote: we've spent a lot of time talking about what a woman's role is not, but it would be so helpful to hear teaching on what the feminine calling really is... My theory, is that if one accepts the complementarian view, then the role of women will be negligible. If egalitarian, or nearly so, then I'd say expansive.

I agree! I want to hear Pastor Mike's POV, since he has studied extensively on the topic of WIM. I trust his POV and what he has to say on this. EDIT: I want to hear what Pastor Mike has to say on the roles of single Christian women of today.

Is scripture not clear enough? For wives at least: “Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” Titus 2:3-5 “But women will be saved through childbearing-if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.” 1 Timothy 2:15 “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” Ephesians 5:22-24 “The LORD God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’” Genesis 2:18 “A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.” 1 Corinthians 11:7-9 “So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander.” 1 Timothy 5:14 “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31 Scripture seems pretty clear on a wife’s duties. She is to look after her home, have children and raise them well, respect her husband, and support him in being successful in the work the Lord has called him to.

Pastor Mike, I've been so blessed and encouraged by your series. As a woman who grew up in a very conservative eastern European culture and denomination, I have long struggled with wanting to more accurately understand and humbly live out my calling and obedience to Christ as a woman of faith and virtue. I no longer feel beaten down or bullied by misunderstood and misapplied texts taken out of context. I furthermore no longer understand my role as an outlier or lesser citizen of God's family or the church, and have joyfully embraced the loving call to submit to Christ and my Christ-honouring husband and the Biblical view of headship- with joy and no threat of being a second-rank citizen. I am so grateful for your gracious and thorough handling of these texts, as you've laid out this secondary doctrine with great care and love. That is so evident. Thank you for investing so much time- God is glorified and the church is blessed as it learns and flourishes, being established on a right foundation of truth.

If the beauty of the daughters of men was able to bring down the glorious angels of God causing them to leave their first estate, knowing they would be forever separated from their position of glory and condemned to judgment, how can we overlook the powerful beauty of the daughters of men Right now? Satan still goes to the woman because she is not the head but rather the heart. The devil does not try to enter in through the bolted door of authority-- but rather slides under the door. Satan is still tempting women to walk in the authority expressly reserved for men from the beginning. Woman came from man, man did not come from woman. The apple was created bearing it's seed. The seed has the power to create another apple but the authority of the seed was IN the created apple. The authority of the seed is contained in and given out of the authority of the apple. When these two powers are at odds the apple is forced to fall to the ground. The seed then exalts itself in the earth producing after its own fallen kind. But if the apple remains in the tree it retains its authority but cannot multiply. I believe the Bride of Christ is composed of men who have cast down their crowns of rightful strength and authority at Jesus' feet fall down in worship. And women, with covered heads concealing their glory from both men and angels, kneel down acknowledging their weaknesses with tears at Jesus' feet. Only then they can rise up together in trembling awe purified by His surpassing Love. She must not be spotted by the lure of the world and he must not be wrinkled by the lust of the flesh for Satan continues as the most clever destroyer of God's Good calling good evil and evil good. If BOTH men and women are bow down at the nail pierced feet of Jesus they will be unlikely to fall. HUMBLE YOURSELVES THEREFORE UNDER THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD AND HE WILL EXALT YOU IN DUE TIME.

If you have not- Come to Jesus bc He cares for you & proved His love & power by his life, death & resurrection- all while we were yet sinners. He is the only Way, Truth & Life to come to the Father. This comes down to how attentively you read v36-40, especially in context with v26 forward (and the whole chapter, in fact). The refutation view makes the most sense, but he reads the chapter and the verses in a weird and disconnected way, much like I did before I discovered the refutation view. To believe that Paul is speaking to the women, you have to read "did the word of God originate only with you" etc as Paul claiming that the women were trying to portray themselves as the sole source of truth and teaching. This seems to be immediately contradicted by v37, which is addressed to males and not females. (This would mean that the Greek word thing is reinforcing a point against the men, btw. Paul wrote with an odd flow of thought, so I can't explain why he ordered it this way.) It seems to clearly be the case that he's speaking to men who believe that men are the sole source of truth and teaching. Since the the Word originated from the Spirit, and not the prophets (as Peter said, meaning that an all the authors of scripture were men argument is irrelavant), women gifted by the Spirit to teach are validated by the Spirit. Then you go to v39-40 then read similar to v37. Where Paul rebuked the spiritual gifts of the men by pointing out that his place as an Apostle is higher than whatever their gift is, he's likewise crouching the silencing of the women within the context of quenching the Spirit (forbidding tongues). v40 would then confirm that the problem wasn't women speaking, but speaking out of order, and that the right resolution for the problem isn't the v33-35 quote, but instead the checks and balance process that Paul lays out in the chapter. As far as other verses that he brings up, like the head covering verse and the Genesis appeal verse: (1) This is a non-issue, since the issue in c14 is a specific circumstance, and c11 is much more general, so it's mixing two things that might overlap but that are two separate scenarios (and to support this, Winger's question can be flipped back on him: If these two scenarios are the same, and Paul already addressed it in c11, why is he cramming it into the tail end of c14 to address it again, where it seems out of context?); (2) 1 Timothy 2:14 should be viewed as a general principle, not as an absolute, as female prophets and leaders and wise women in the OT show that viewing it as an absolute is illogical. Likewise, this 1 Corinthians 14 verse should be viewed as a refutation of the absolutist error. As Ecclesiastes says, the man who fears YHWH will avoid every extreme. (Also, we shouldn't avoid the fact that Paul says some very stupid and illogical things in both 1 Cor 11 and 1 Tim 2. Head coverings somehow prevent the angels from being tempted by females and children will be saved through childbearing - these sound like very stupid rabbinical traditions that we shouldn't be following. As does 1 Cor 14:33-35, btw. 1 Tim even sounds like it probably comes from an apocryphal text that blames Eve from the Fall, when Paul put the fault on Adam in 1 Cor, so 1 Tim may not even have been written by Paul. Note that 1 Cor 11 is in a series of issues, where starting from v12 of c7, he switched from saying that he was speaking prophetically in v10 of c7 to saying that he was speaking of his own opinion from v12 forward. This is important because he says that women were made for men but men weren't made for women. That's horrendously wrong.)

Adam sinned knowingly. Don’t forget that. Eve should have asked God when Satan lied to her. She was deceived the Bible says. Adam did know and sinned in knowledge, knowing the truth full well . Eve sinned but not in the same deliberate knowledge as she was deceived. She ought to have asked God instead of taking the serpents word over Gods Word. But because her sin was not with full knowledge (or deliberate as Adams was...) ,she was given the privilege of carrying the future Redeemer. Adam was guiltiest because he was not deceived. The Bible says “in Adam all die”, not Eve. “But in Christ”(the Bible calls Him the second Adam)”shall all be made alive”. Adam was the head of Eve and Christ is the Head of the Church. Thank you Pastor Mike for this series. I've watched all of it (1- 11) and have learned a great deal about the different egalitarian perspectives, how they are not really in sync with scripture, and how the Bible more naturally supports complementarian views where men and women are equal in value but not roles. The culture of today is going against God's word, which isn't surprising, so I think we need to be equipped with knowledge of the Bible to be able to talk to Christians who push these unbiblical egalitarian narratives in our churches.

Especially when you explained the logical contradiction of thinking the Corinthian church was both disorderly concerning prophecy and was also silencing women- that hadn't occurred to me. Definitely going to think about these things more. I'm looking forward to your next video about the letter to Timothy! The argument I've struggled with in that passage is the meaning/connotation of the word for authority. The argument basically says the passage indicates that women shouldn't teach men in a domineering way. I hope you cover that, and considering how detailed these videos are, I'm certain that it's already on your radar. On a fairly unrelated note, I woke up to two tires going flat, but they were still under warranty and I had your video to watch while they worked on them, so I was a happy camper 😅 As always, I'm very thankful to hear how you think through these issues. I find it illuminating that you take three hours to explain the plain meaning of the text. Let me help: Women should be silent in church. That said, appreciate your work.

Part 11 PAUL STATES THAT WOMEN SHOULD BE SILENT As in all the churches of the saints, the women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says. If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church. -excerpt 1 Corinthians 14 In this matter Paul speaks of the 'law'. There is a small possibility that he is referring to a Roman or local law. If not, then Paul is stating that women were still under the Old Covenant laws. Yet there was no Old Covenant law that states that women should be silent. Then the daughters of Zelophehad...came forward. They stood before Moses, before Eleazar the priest, before the leaders, and all the congregation at the entrance of the tent of meeting, saying, “Our father died in the wilderness, yet he was not among the group of those who gathered together against the Lord, in the group of Korah; but he died in his own sin, and he had no sons. Why should the name of our father be withdrawn from among his family simply because he had no son? Give us property among our father’s brothers.” So Moses brought their case before the Lord. Then the Lord said to Moses, “The daughters of Zelophehad are right about their statements. You shall certainly give them hereditary property among their father’s brothers... -excerpts Numbers 27 These women were not rebuked, even though they spoke before everyone, including Moses. What they asked for was granted to them, because God agreed with them.

So the viewpoint that women couldn’t sing in worship…? The church I grew up in was solid until after I graduated high school and then over the next few years, it just got so weirdly legalistic. My mom was the church pianist and they reached a point where they wouldn’t even allow her to play in church (unless MAYBE) at the back of the church because the play at the front would be a distraction and make her the focus. Seriously, they moved the piano to the back of the sanctuary. Playing piano was how she served. Once they took that away, she didn’t know what to do anymore. Thankfully, they left that church and even MORE thankfully, all the members of that church eventually saw how they were wrong. It took years and years, but God showed them their errors.
@musicalbenches Жыл бұрын
Wow! 😟That makes me sad...and slightly depressed. Her presence was deemed a distraction. This sounds like the religions where a woman has to be covered from head to toe, except for her eyes. There was even a guy in the comment section here that didn't want a woman sitting in the front row. It really does paint men in a negative light. We live in a sinful world.

I definitely understand why the church didn't want women to have any role at all, they clearly just took what Paul said a bit too literally. But yeah, even most anti-women priest churches would at least have women in some position even if at a lower level like singing and children watching. It is very easy to think that all women should literally be silent in the church no matter what, I don't blame churches for thinking Paul literally meant that. It doesn't make that church right and it is sad, but I honestly get why it went down the path that it did. (I'm an egalitarian)

As a woman who’s recently came back to Christ, this series is very informative and thank you for it! I wanted to add a few sentiments as an ex feminist rebellious woman to reach the culture today. Our society today breaks my heart because I’m 30 with 3 children & I only know maybe 4 women from my high school days with children. I think our society and culture have both historical missteps and failings in this area that have impacted today so greatly. I was a rebellious spirit because I loathed mass hypocrisy in church and I falsely blamed God. I think today we have to address the rebellious with compassion and understanding, but the church in general should always be condemning false pastors and teachings, addressing hypocrisy or materialism in the churches. Leading by example of course instead of once weekly hour meetings, there should be intermingling and ministry to the world like the first right? When feminism was growing, I think the church generally didn’t handle it very well. It would seem historically some abused the word of women submitting and used it to excuse ungodly behavior. This creates a deep resentment as rules for thee not for me, or higher standards and punishments and societal consequences for sin for women was a real problem. I saw it even in late 90s in church, such as when young unmarried women became pregnant they suffered the burden of sin and judgement far worse. I think to move forward and hope to create a desire for understanding of gender roles, we have to go to the root of how feminism developed, why was there a void in the first place for it to fill? I came to understand feminism was a elite driven standpoint designed to debt slave both parents at the demise of the children and family, and had we gone back and addressed the cries of women then in a loving and healthy way, we could have fostered, appreciated, and nurtured female abilities and values their roles as nurturers with far better outcomes. When we aren’t all following Christ first, it is as hard as it is to find a godly woman to submit to male authority these days I would also say it’s very hard to find a man with wisdom and godliness that’s deserving of such authority today. Women have shown they CAN do many things men do and are overperforming men in certain fields today, but instead of simply being angry at the feminist woke maybe we should be discussing positively in retrospect how culturally humanity could have improved the quality of life in the past and appropriately foster gender roles and positive differences for women. Obviously women home with children is far better for children and families as if today doesn’t demonstrate that well enough. The other issue today with careers and gender roles is that men and women have many equal ish performance office jobs whereas historically many men performed jobs that were intensely laborious or dangerous for longer hours, highlighting the sacrifices men make to provide. Statistics today do show that even if both father and mother work full time fathers perform 30% of household duties or child rearing when home. I personally just desire a man who I know does have wisdom and ethics that leads by example and does place God first. And genuinely leads his children and wife with word not simply leads because of his gender first but espouses they duties of that leadership. And women obviously need to stop trying to be men, they’ve shown they can perform certain things just as well, yet at the cost of our children and men collectively! This should highlight for feminists the immensely valuable role women have as nurturers in society and equal significance their separate roles always had! Let these decades be a learning moment for us all, and reevaluate the role of women not to be “in their place” so to speak, but value their different roles and offerings as equally as we value mens ❤❤ and if we place God first always in all things I think we have much less room to fail.

This is wonderful. I wish someone like you could speak to my fiancé, she is very much a victim of modern feminism. She is extremely hardworking and intelligent and goes to an elite STEM university that is majority men. She also comes from a background where women were always treated as less than, especially in a marital context as her parents have a very Biblically warped relationship. She knows the models she had growing up were terrible, but still rejects the complimentary view because in her mind, men and women can occupy the same roles in the work force, therefore it makes no sense why they can’t at home or especially church. She thinks it belittles and undervalues women and gives women little reason to be enthusiastic. She also thinks a complimentary view is a hotbed of abuse because her Dad uses the Bible as justification to abuse her mom, and excuse the behavior of other men, but never women. The women she surrounds herself with are all secular feminist types, which complicates things….

I'm really excited to dive into this. I was taught that women weren't supposed to be chattering in church, distracting others basically. And when they did feel called to speak in church they should do so under the covering and guidance/approval of their husband. Like if their was a woman teacher, her husband otta be senior pastor and backing up what she says etc. This view was never explained thoroughly to me so I'm excited I found this and can hear your teaching on the matter. I find a lot of fulfillment in serving my husband and family but i feel my counseling/nurturing nature isnt completely used up by them and I have leftover to give. Although I'd never want to counsel men, just women and children. I love your style of teaching and it really helps me

Mike, I think when we read and interpret these teachings, what we find has its starting point at our heart' s desires. As a women, I've have to ask myself, "what is it I am looking for here?" Am I reactionary to some past slight or abuse of these teachings? Or have I quieted my heart before my maker, and grown in my desire to become what He designed me to be, joyfully. It is an honor to be His daughter. It is His design. As I see the picture of Christ and the Church, what a privilege to project that image to this lost world. When I see Christ , who had all the fullness of Deity, humble Himself, this is a small thing. I pray I can grow in this attitude.

Mike, please include in your next video if it’s biblical for women to work as Chaplains such as in hospitals or the Military or even some business or community environments. A chaplains role is often much more of a counseling, spiritual advisement in pluralistic environments so could often even be viewed (in my opinion) as an evangelistic role. Thank you for these, you have no idea how grateful I am and timely these are for me.

There are certainly many views of this issue. People may disagree whether Paul's instructions on church government are applicable today or not. In the end, the Lord will decide and bless (or not) according to his will. But differing on this issue is a secondary matter. We are to love and fellowship with other believers no matter where they stand on it. What matters is the simple gospel: Jesus is Savior and Lord, he is risen, he will come again.

Thank you for your careful study and clear teaching. It seems so obvious now, but was previously a difficult passage for many of us. After this series I would like you to do a study on spiritual gifts, specifically tongues and prophecy. None of the churches I've been part of have used them. Yet, I can't find any convincing Biblical evidence for cessationism. We've often heard the horror stories of how these gifts are misused, and those are used as justification for why we don't practice them... I just don't understand how we can ignore such a clear verse as 1 Cor 14:39. I've been praying for clarity on this issue. I know that you will be able to teach the proper way to use the gifts.

@Benjamin Brooks. full disclosure that I am a practicing charismatic and a woman. The full Biblical role of women in the Church

I grew up in cessationist churches and it’s been encouraging to be apart of a church that believes in the gifts and uses them, even though I do still have a lot of caution and fear of misuse. It’s sad that we’ve let fear stop us from experiencing the power and gifts of God. There’s misuse of everything, very clearly people mistook communion in the scriptures, leading to sickness and death, and I myself have wrongfully taken at times. But it’s still something we continue doing, and rightfully so, because it’s Holy! Perverting good things isn’t new and we shouldn’t let evil keep us from doing good. 🙏🏻 learning and growing in this myself and hope the Lord will teach and grow you also! Don’t be afraid to get around Christians who use the spiritual gifts, they may be able to teach you something and encourage your faith 🙌🏻

Yeah, this is a really common view and a lot of women aren't necessarily struggling with feminism, but struggling with really really bad applications of complementarianism. Its hurt a lot of women. I think more women are driven to egalatarianism because of bad, harmful, unbiblical versions and applications of complementarianism than they are by feminism. Women in many complementarian circles have been greatly devalued by well meaning men in their church who miss the complementarianism in complementarianism. Ha. The assumption that egalitarians and complementarian women who struggle with these passages are all just feminism isn't fair or nuanced. The truth is, well meaning men undervalue the women in their churches all the time and it a real challenge. This is not all complementarian churches, but neither is this uncommon.

I always just assumed and have also read that Paul stated this because the culture of the day didn't allow for women to study the Torah, something which would be actively referred to within their new Christian context.. That the men would study and then inform the women and children in the ways of God. The Jewish culture was to have them positioned at the rear of the synagogue (away from the men) for this reason.. I don't see the problem. 🤔. They couldn't teach for above reason but they could prophesy (a spiritual gift) and pray in public (neither of which are reliant on being studied in the Torah). Absolutely no issue.

I have walk faithfully with my Lord and Savior for 67 years. Most of that time was spent working with in the church. For a woman, this choice or calling can be a heavy cross to carry. One is judged first as a woman and then as a Christ follower. Each individual has their own personal scriptural interpretation of a woman’s role. That interpretation, without question, becomes your standard of conduct. This is chaos at best and spiritual abuse at the worst. My conclusion, after all these years, serve the Lord! Do what you can do for the glory of God within the boundaries or shake off the dust and move forward. Foremost, do not allow the sin of anger, bitterness and unforgiveness in your life. Follow Christ’s example, He loved the church and gave His life for it. Sincerely love others with a different view. This is the mark of a true Christian. Christ’s calling isn’t a ridged role, it is a loving relationship!

I would hope that all examples in the Bible would be equally held as truth. Jesus broke with Jewish tradition when he taught women the Torah and elevated them to disciples. For example Mary of Bethany sat at Christ feet. Again, Jesus breaks with tradition, Joanna, wife of Chuza and other women are allowed to supported and followed Jesus. This conduct would of been considered scandalous for women. Scholars believe Joanna may have been a key source of much of the detailed information Luke recorded. She was at the crucifixion, burial and proclaimed the resurrection. In a day, when women voices were considered unreliable and invalid in legal matters. On the day of Pentecost, woman were present and received the same benefits and calling. Phoebe, was a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. Lydia first convert in Europe, the leader of her church. Junia the Bible list as an apostle. These examples are also recorded in the Bible concerning the early church.

I believe that if you truly are married to the one God wanted for you, there’s a strong level of trust. That said, I believe that women and men have different roles in the family. Now in my house, since my husband is the breadwinner, I defer to him when one of the kids asks for something. It’s not about obeying. It’s about respecting. He has the checkbook so to speak. Likewise if my kids ask my husband for a snack, he defers to me. Dinner might be almost ready. I talked to my aunt about it, and said that I don’t mind having one man be the leader of the family, the head of the family. But she gave me a different perspective. She thinks not of a marriage as one general leading his troops, but rather two admirals leading a fleet.
@viperstriker472811 ай бұрын
I am just going to run with that military analogy a little bit and point out 2 admirals never works. Military has always has a strict chain of command with 1 on top giving orders. Though one of the big innovations during WW2 was when the Germans gave field commands autonomy since they didn't have time to call back to the main HQ with the blitzkrieg. But it was still hierarchical. Though all that being said military leadership is nothing like the servant leadership found in the Bible. I think a better analogy would be an admiral and a senator leading a country. The admiral is clearly in command but he relies on the senator to know what the needs of the people are. Then he sacrifices his forces (his body in the case of gender roles) to fill those needs. The senator can't override the admiral, but if the admiral doesn't make senator happy with his decisions he will have hell to pay after the battle. And to add to the analogy, God is the president. If the admiral goes against God it would be a military coup, and those never end well.

[PASTOR - Origin: late Middle English: from Anglo-Norman French pastour, from Latin pastor ‘shepherd’.] In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ -excerpt 1 Chronicles 17 verse 6 NASB translation Also: Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning, and since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. -excerpt 1 Chronicles 17 verses 9 and 10 KJV -God speaking to Nathan the prophet More, proving a Judge was a pastor: But it came about, when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their obstinate ways. -excerpt Judges 2 What happened after Deborah's time?: Then the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord handed them over to Midian for seven years. -excerpt Judges 6 -first sentence Also, a Judge had the ultimate in spiritual authority. A Judge, according to scripture, had the authority to judge homicide cases. So if a Judge gave a verdict that a man had committed the sin of premeditated murder, the Judge could, and had to, order his execution. As his execution was required for this sin under the Law of the Old Covenant. Also, according to scripture, a Judge's verdict could not be altered or appealed. ... in accordance with the verdict which they tell you, you shall act; you shall not turn aside from the word which they declare to you, to the right or the left. -excerpt Deuteronomy 17

@user-iz8np3vv4i complete misinterpreting of scripture. She was not that kind of "Judge". Women weren't even allowed to talk in church or in public in that time. No evidence she was more than a mouthpiece for God (a high honor) the same as EGW. A women never sat in Judgement of a man in all of scripture. It would not have been tolerated in their culture(God's culture)and shouldn't be ever.

@@kendall959 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time. She used to sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the sons of Israel went up to her for judgment. -excerpt Judges 4 A Judge, according to scripture, could judge homicide cases. There was no appeal to a Judge's verdict, according to scripture. I can post my essay, or reply to questions.

After Jesus resurrected, he showed himself to a woman, not the fearful doubting men!

The woman was also fearful and doubting. She assumed Jesus was still dead and asked the "gardener" where his body was.

I have so far watched a quarter of this. I like your approach and arguments and the many perspectives you evaluate.

I had never heard anyone link prophesying and discernment of spirit before and it woke up something in me. I feel I have the gift of discernment of spirit. Recently I watched your explanation of Bill Johnson. When he spoke there was something in me that just recoiled against him and I felt the need to get the poor congregation out of his presence. It's not a particular doctrinal thing although, if I could have endured listening, I would have analyzed this as well. But discernment really needs not analyze everything it's just there and discerns: a discernment of a person or spirit or whatever. I had the same feeling when Dr Michael Brown appeared on a particular Church pulpit and later with the pastor of that church. As I watched the pastor I was again struck with discernment of something being very wrong. A few weeks later I found the pastor had been put in jail I believe for some sort of financial fraud. And I wondered at the time why Dr Brown didn't pull away from this. But then I thought maybe he doesn't have the same gift of discernment that I had with this man. Another point you put is that it could be linked with prophecy and I felt that I have this gift in the sense of being able to encourage and speak from the holy Spirit things that are beyond what I would normally do. I only do it one on one with people and have never done it before a congregation but it could be that I have the gift of prophecy even though I've never claimed to. But if these two gifts are linked that would even make even more sense. Thank you for your thorough analyzation of all topics.
