In case of removing DPT, why don't we open both the equalizing valves before closing one of the block valve to balance the pressure on high and low side of the transmitter, same as the video on 3-way manifold?

When isolating, the equalizing valves are the first one to open. Take this scenario, you close one block valve first and then open equalizer valve, but if between closing the block valve and opening equalizer you get a flow, as a result you will create a more higher difference presure on the transmitter than what you get in normal use. Also, when putin the DPT into service the equalizing valves are the last to close (for the same reason as mention earlier).

Remove DPT from service - First close both HP and LP isolation valve(Block valve),open equalizing valve and open vent valve( Drain valve)now DPT from out of service.

Restoring DPT Back to service - Close vent valve ( drain valve), close equalizing valve and open both isolation valve .now Transmitter in service. it's correct or not correct?
@InstrumentCalibration2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is correct

Does the DPT block valve manifold have a high and low side itself
@InstrumentCalibration2 жыл бұрын
Yes, all DPT valve comes with high and low side. Thanks for asking this question.

Does DPT has two equalizing valve as shared in this video? I thought it has only one equalizing valve,2 block valve and two vent valve.

Some have two equalizer valves while others have one equaliser

Is it some kind of special 5-way manifold. Because the standard one doesn’t work as you have explained. The standard one with every transmitter comes with two isolation valves, two vent valves and one equilizing valve. Never seen 2 equilizing valves.. could you please explain about it. Or change your video it’s misleading

I haven't come across the valve, which you have explained in this comment

Hello Rituraj... Thanks for asking this question. Please google its Rosemount 3051 Transmitter manual. You will get your answer on page number 62. I am talking about Rosemount 3051 5 Way Manifold Valve

Why 5 valves used? Instead 3 valve
@InstrumentCalibration2 жыл бұрын
In some of the application, you need to use 5 valves instead of 3 valve
