I've experienced this. Just after I quit years of a heavy paleo diet, I began to have hand tremors. I began a vegan diet, and the tremor is slowly decreasing. It has been 6 months, and the tremors are obviously going away. Talk about scary. I was on my way.

G Kuljian well done for making the switch. It is worth getting your B12 checked as this can cause tremors (eg head/hand). Even in the 200-500 range, you can still be deficient. Oh, this is not a vegan deficiency btw. I was diagnosed before I was vegan, I am also a nurse and treated tonnes of ppl with B12d, not a single one is vegan (or vegetarian) 😊
@Gkuljian

Thanks. I gobble B12 every day. I thought it may have been too much iodine. But after stopping that for several months that wasn't it. I'm without a doubt not low on B12. All I know is I'm in a totally different world of health than I was for the past 25 years. Everything has turned around.
@clarebirschel4100
@clarebirschel4100 6 жыл бұрын
G Kuljian great stuff. Just be aware that supplementing B12 can alter blood work and give a falsely high reading, eg you can still be deficient. The fact that you are supplementing and your tremor has improved could indicate a deficiency. The serum B12 test isn't very accurate, though... But worth getting tested 😊
@Gkuljian

You might be thinking of folic acid. That masks B12 deficiency. I'm aware there are issues involved with living a clean/modern life. I haven't been to a doctor in 4 years. He didn't even think my creatinine of 1.0 was a big deal. Nor my total cholesterol of 252. At least I know the proper direction to aim in terms of nutrition. I'm all fruit now, and full of energy. I want to be athletically competitive when I'm' 70.

When ppl ask me "where do you get your protein?" I ask "where do you get your fibre?" 😂 I worked out I've had 22 portions of fruit/veg today, plus oats, nuts and lentils. Protein and fibre galore!

@clarebirschel4100 6 жыл бұрын
Jenn Nelson lol! Oh, and ask them "what is protein, exactly?" No one can answer that! (Look it up and astound them with your knowledge...building blocks of life...long chain fatty acids etc...no such thing as protein deficiency if you eat enough calories...did you know that a head of broccoli as 13g of protein?....where do elephants get their protein?....I take my protein direct from plants instead of filtering it through a dead animal carcass... You get the picture 😂😂😂)
@clarebirschel4100

Jenn Nelson lol no one knows! The only one who answered the protein question correctly was my daughter as she is a) vegan b) did her high school biology exam a month before..she was, like..."course I know what protein is...duh!" She uses this one on everyone. Oh and don't forget the calcium one as well...swot up and she them carnivores squirm hee hee 😂 Go over to Eearthkin Ed just know, he's doing a 30 day thing about excuses for not going vegan...really good 😊

+Burton Blazek I am a medical student and I support a well balanced vegan diet. But people must be careful as to who they follow as an example. There are many youtubers out there misguiding people with false practices and are at extremes such as eating too much quantity of just one fruit like banana or completely telling people to eat just raw food all the time. It's important to eat a balance of raw and cooked food. In some cases certain spices rich in antioxidants like Turmeric (fat soluble), is only activated in presence of high heat, fat (like olive oil) and pepper. Most of traditional healthy home cooked vegan Indian meals are abundance in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties from variety of spices

IronGirl rocks I don't eat bananas, but there's nothing wrong with eating large fruit meals. I can eat around 5-6 pounds of oranges or apples, or 4 pounds of berries in a meal. I am not 100% raw however. That is way too difficult.

Adam McNeil Michael Mosley on R2 this morning emphasised the possible dangers of a vegan diet (B12 & calcium deficiency) but didn't do the same when advising people to eat oily fish (mercury, plastics contamination). Funny that.
@freedomfox2209
@freedomfox2209 6 жыл бұрын
B12 is a legitimate concern. Calcium really isn't. The moment someone starts talking about 'needing dairy' is the point you know they've not actually looked into it at all. Mercury is bad enough that the government say not to eat more than 2 tins of tuna per week, they advise greater tuna restriction than they do alcohol and yet still claim it's healthy.

Pretty interesting Mike. I would recommend you take a look at "Parkinson's disease: Dietary Regulation of Dopamine" by Steve Blake. He has done some clinical trial of a plant-based diet for Parkinson patients in Hawaii where he lives. For example, he shows that coffee is good against Parkinson but tea (black tea and green tea) is even better. Thanks for your wonderful presentation.

My hunch is it depends on the amount. Like wine. If you enjoy coffee and drink in moderation I can’t imagine it harming you. More than a couple cups a day gets acidic and can lead to dependence.

Thanks for the great content. I discovered you a few weeks ago and have subbed and have been binge watching your videos. I am a Vegetarian gone Vegan, so I am trying to catch up on the pros and if there are any, cons of the Vegan diet. I came across a terrifying article about irreversible brain shrinkage, particularly in older Vegans. I know fats are good for brain health, and we can certainly get plenty of fat, but maybe not the right Omega 3s. I didn't see if you addressed this "brain shrinkage" concept. I would love to see your thoughts on this, if you have read up on it at all.

How about a video about veganism and psoriasis. I am actually working on healing mine by being an oil-free, whole food vegan! It has taken one month and the change is huge already!!!

That was the scariest part of the video IMO. Either option: That the CDC is _concealing_ the long term health risks of Paraquat exposure, or that they are _unaware_ of the long term health risks of Paraquat exposure. : (

tamcon72, It's scary. Please have a looksie into my playlists "Truth to power" for other informative reality. Maybe someday we the people will stop the darkness. Mic and others in the Vegan community have their hands full with giving a voice to the other earth animals. The rabbit hole however goes all they way to hell.

Hi Mi, I have recently been inspired to become vegan because of you a couple months ago :) my entire family are animal eaters, but my mother has heart disease. I commonly repeat to her health benefits of veganism that I hear from vegan health documentaries and videos, and at one point I mentioned benefits of veganism for heart disease and she became very interested. Do you have any videos of yours that you've made that specifically target heart disease? If yes I'd love to be given the link, but if not it'd be nice to see a new video on it :) Thanks Mic!

You should do a video about epilepsy and a vegan diet and if they correlate. I was diagnosed with epilepsy back in 2013 and eventually chose to slowly weam myself off of my medication .I've been vegan for almost 5 months now and haven't had a seizure in almost a year. Love your videos and hope you consider!

Hey Mic :-) Could you make a video on the health benefits of seeds, such as chia seeds, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, etc ? Most people don't know much about them, how to use them and why they should eat them more + people that are allergic to gluten can eat them instead of nuts in many recipes. I love your videos, they're very helpful, interesting and different from other vegan channels. Thanks !!

Hi Mike! Thanks for this video! Can you make one about Alzheimer's disease? My grandpa has it and my family doesn't think a vegan diet can help at all. I hope you'll make it! Love your videos!!!

Awesome thanks. Especially the thing about dairy. My mum has Parkinsonism and has also had dairy / her bone density was measured as that if a 19 yr old and she’s 73 ... a bit odd perhaps

Hi Mic! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I was wondering why you recommand to stop eating salt while there are alternatives like Himalayan salt which is not bad for you, it even has a lot of minerals. I trust your opinions and I hope you will adress this issue.

I just worked out I've had 22 portions of fruit/veg today! Plus oats and lentils. If that don't keep doctor death from my door, I don't know what will 😂 As Dr Klapper says... "It's the food!"

My father has parkinsons diseases and I am trying to find everything i can about effects of diet on parkinsons. My problem is that I am very open minded and so i look all sides on topic. I myself am advocate for vegan diet and so i found that whole food plant based diet is very good for parkinsons. There is lot of anegdotal evidence and stuff they talk about makes sence. But i wanted to hear other side too and now carnivore diet also makes sence. What to recommend my dad, i no longer have an idea.

Please do a video breaking down Silence Your Cravings. A video of a Dr Gundry talks about lectins and how they are basically the cause of all weight gain, bad food cravings, and if you get rid of lectins in your diet, it’s the solution to everything. I got my dad to try a whole food diet a few months ago but he saw Dr Gundry’s video and is changing his diet in an unhealthy way I think. Dr Gundry says grains are bad, beans are bad, tomatoes, peanuts, and more. Please help!

Ask your dad about the science backing up Dr Gundry's claims. I suspect there is little to none. There are tons of studies to put Gundry's ideas to shame tho.
