It's actually crazy how much money you can save by looking second-hand first. Sometimes you can't find anything but there will be times when there's something you really need being sold second hand for a really good price and the feeling of knowing you've saved so much money by just being dilligent and doing a few simple searches now and again is awesome.

One thing We do is try to mend things, for example we mend clothes 3 times before the item get thrown out. Most things can actually be mended and continue to be used. My husband is very handy and have always fixed our cars etc. Saved us a ton of money over the years!

I have a tip I’d like to share for married couples or couples living together and sharing finances but not everyone might be comfortable doing. If you’re a dual income and can comfortably live on one income, save one salary and use the other for paying bills and mortgage/rent. This is probably the smartest decision my husband and I did. We have a new mortgage and we’re hoping to pay it off within 8-10 yrs if we stop going on expensive vacations 😅 It’s the only debt that we have since we’ve been living below our means.

I don't know if there is something similar in English ? Do you know the BISOU method ? It is in french. You need to ask yourself 5 questions before buying something new. - B (besoin in french = need in english) do you need it ? - I for immediat. Do you need it right now ? or can you think about it several days ? - S for similar. Do you have something similar home ? - O from origin. From where comes the product? - And U for usefull. Is the stuff I want to buy usefull ? Also in order to save money another trick that I found interesting is planning your meal. When I come back from the grocery shop I make my menu for the up coming 2 weeks in according to the expiration date of the products. This way, I save time, I don't waste food and I avoid spending my money on meal delivery services. Great video again !

The need vs want thing deffo helps, started doing that a few years ago now it’s basically second nature. Always a good idea to try and fix stuff yourself if you can too, not only does it save money on a repair man to do it, but it saves on you buying a new one. Great video again Mr G! 🎉

When it comes to bills I have found paying myself first allows me to save and maybe treat myself to certain foods during the week. I will try a no spend day and see how it goes. This video and other videos on your channel has helped me big time. Thank you 🙏

I have been watching your videos for the past week now and honestly I love everything you are teaching me. I have spoken to my partner and I am now starting to declutter my life by donating old things I no longer need and getting books on my iPad Mini instead of buying physical books. Thank you for these amazing videos and keep them coming ❤

My husband and I implement all your ideas except buy or borrow secondhand. My favorite is the no spend challenge. Out of 7 days we save on 4. Spending on wants is a thing of the past. Working on paying off something that was an absolute need. When we do go out, 90% of the time we share one meal. Loving minimalism.

Recently came to your channel.. I like how simple and calm your videos are. I have been decluttering a lot lately becuz I travel and I constantly have to pack and unpack and I'm tired of it. Even if I am now done packing and unpacking (becuz we live in a travel trailer) I still want less stuff and want to stop buying and just enjoy life w the stuff I have. Your videos r helping me a lot thru this transition. Thank you

Definitely if you want to experience the things that entertainment "stuff" provides, visit your local library. Libraries aren't musty book, glares, and "shush" es any more. Many libraries are: mixed media affairs; host community meetings and sometimes activities like craft, gardening, and food preservation; some have passes to local museams and parks for free or reduced price; and they work to join the electronic age with items to use in-house, check out, and download. Increasingly, many communities also have tool libraries through which tools can be checked out.

In terms of something to do beyond going to work, cooking your own meals, and cleaning your own house - Don't forget to check out volunteer activities in your area. In larger areas, if you've got an area of interest, something you want to learn, want to lpet something furry and fuzzy even if you're a "no pets allowed" renter or have a sporadic and chaotic schedule, have a demographic you want to help or spend more time with, have a cause, and in down the list - there is a place or organization that is looking for volunteers. If you have a craft or skill, there are generally places that could do with what you produce, can do, or can teach.

I believe we also tend to use the word "need" in a wrong way. Here's an example to explain what I mean: > I think the questions that we have to answer is: do I really need it?

Entertainment expense curtailment from a frugal living or minimalist living perspective? While not the cheapest, going to see live performances is pretty minimalist. Going on off days, college and community events, rehearsals and first day, etc... can reduce the costs. Or, volunteer for a theater building to see a variety of performances for free.

One of the best ways to save more money is - don't spend as much. Another way is to earn more for doing the same job and then only spend what you earned after tax from your previous job. Also no spend weekends are good.
