Thank you, Michael Moran, for your warm words about Poland. You are a true friend of Poles. I agree that Poland has undergone a huge transformation in the last 30 years and now life in our country is really good. Greetings to the editor for the interview.

I have the same observation, I left Poland 20 years ago , lived in Italy , UK , Republic of Ireland. The leap that Poland made in last 2 decades is insane ( I visit every year at least once a year ) . Shiny new motorways and roads , one of lowest unemployment in the world , very low crime ( for example no youth gangs stabbing people and overall almost every statistics better than Europe average ), very clean , people seem content , general wealth is visible everywhere ( Poland I think are now 2nd biggest buyers of Spanish properties etc ) . Now people can still complain about many things ( house prices ? ) but you cannot imagine how poor the country was in the 90s . I went to London the other day and outside of the grand centre London looks tired and dirty like Szczecin in the 90s . Just appreciate your country and there is so many things to be proud of compared to “western “ establish countries
16:29 Saying that Polish soldiers weren't war heros is a quick way to a heated discusion with most of Poles. Just to mention how Brits 'thanked' Polish pilots from Squadron 303.

I,ve lived in Eastern Poland for the past 14 years.........In a small village with a slightly larger village nearby........When we first arrived, the car park in the town square could be accessed any time, always a place to park.....and there were three 'Maluks' (small Polski FIAT car produced under communism) and at least four 'Zuks' (polish 'pick up truck' produced under communism.....Nowadays the town square is always busy, always full of cars and now (last couple of years) many of them are NEW cars.....Families that had a horse and maybe a tractor, now have one or even two cars......A family I have known for more than a decade had an American SUV they brought back from USA (working) also had a very small car....they now have 5 cars...(sons and daughter grown up). This is Podkarpacie voyvoeship....which was so neglected in the past.

About 13th&14th pension for pensioners - it's done in this particular way to support old folks with lowest pensions, there is a income cap included. It's done this way, because Constitutional Tribunal made a verdict, saying that giving a flat raise (for example +100$/month) for all pensioners is unconstitutional. You'd have to increase it at the same rate%. So if they would increase all pensions by 10%, those who have minimum pension (350-400$) would only get 35$, and those with high ones would get like 100-300$ raise.

I'm Polish, but I've been living in the UK for 16 years. In 1989, Poland overthrew the communist government, and only in 1989 it slowly began to work on lifting Poland from its knees, pulling it out of the economic ruin it fell into after the war and then during the 44 years of communist rule in the USSR. Poland has belonged to Poles for only three decades. It took us 30 years to bring the country to the European standard, previously we were Africa in the center of Europe. It is better than was, but is still a gap in salary compared to Western countries. Regarding so many war museums in Poland. By studying the past, we can obtain many answers about the present, which is why it is worth studying history. Forgive but never forget and do everything not to repeat the mistakes of the past. As a Pole living in the UK, I am very happy about the nice relationship between our nations. Ps: The great escape, is American film about escape from German prison, located in actual Poland.

14th pension - instead of an uplift of the pension based on inflation, just give 1 more so people won't figure out that the total uplift is less than inflation 😕

Zgadzam sie z gosciem na temat CPK - 100%! To zalosne ze nadal musisz leciec na lotniska typu Berlin zeby poleciec w dalsze rejony swiata (i wazne - jak Indonezja, Tajlandia itd)
@alh625511 ай бұрын

Krajobraz, niezniszczone środowisko, spokój - to też ważne. Potem spędzam godzinę w kolejkach do rozmaitych kontroli i zaczekowania bagażu. Potem czekam godzinę w dusznym pomieszczeniu na boarding. Dzień stracony, którego mi nikt nie zwróci. Nie wszystko co duże jest piękne i lepsze.

@@iwonalasak-hughes5814 TVP announced that the new government would return to taxpayers the tax money that the regime had stolen and hold PIS accountable for its thievery. In addition, the TVP said that the police would stop beating women who demand their rights and would stop guarding dictator Kaczynski's house and start protecting citizens. I'm watching TVP and they also announced that they will stop lying and making propaganda of PIS success because for 8 years the society has been impoverished, not enriched and PIS oligarchs will be stripped of their dishonestly accumulated wealth. This was said on TVP by the oligarch Morawiecki, who announced that he himself would give back what he had stolen.

No country is perfect. What you need to do is work, improve and invest to see better growth. On the other hand - the Czech Republic has economical issues now. Love our southern neighbors, but everything is based on where you live (which part of the country). Those countries aren't that much different.
