Pray for my spouse who is basically self destruction his life and our marriage. He Outlook is if u do me wrong then vengeance is the only option. When he walks into the door instead of heaven walking in hell does. I never know what his mood will be. I have to watch my words and walk on egg shells. We are going to marriage counciling but it seems to be more for me. My church is no help at all. I wish we had more pastor like Mark around here who would bring message like this. We so need a men's conference like this to guide our men with truth and God holy word.

@nikkieades56 I am so sorry you are going through this. I will keep you and your family and your marriage in my prayers. I wanted to share something with you though. There is a book called “the power of a praying wife”. You have to get that book and read it! Believe me give it a shot and pray for your marriage! The enemy wants to destroy homes but we have a greater God who protects us and fights for us! Give it to God. Pray and read the book. It’ll give you encouragement and help you through. It’s helped me a lot. We were at the brink of divorce. God is great and he always had the last say!

Is he physically abusive? The bible says that if a husband mistreats his wife, his prayers won't even be heard. You have to know when it's time for separation. Not only are you hurting yourself by staying, but also your kids if you have any. God blese you ❤ I'm sorry to break it to you but you are not married to a real man.

I will pray for you. Please grant your husband the grace of being able to move through whatever it is that's filling his heart with anger. Pray that he'll accept the holy spirit in its place. So often it feels impossible to make our way through these things. Your husband needs to know that the covenant you made with him, and the covenant you made with God is unbreakable. He needs to know that your love for him has no bounds, and that you're not going to give up. Usually, if that's understood there might be a breakthrough. Maybe that breakthrough leads to something more difficult, and maybe it doesn't. You have to find your way through Christ. You have to be able to love him through it, after all, the covenant was made. Good luck, and I hope that through some prayer and the holy spirit a solution presents itself to you as a couple. Maybe switching marriage counselors, or something else that hasn't appeared. If your church doesn't help, are their any others local to you that offer marriage classes? If so, drop in. Don't be afraid to ask for help in places that seem vulnerable. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

It's VERY HARD to have discipline, by ourselves, alone, when we were not brought up into a positive discipline FIND A BROTHER and be accpuntable. There is no magic trick. Nothing will happen jiat by praying. Take action. Find accountability with a beother and pray everyday. Start there. May God bless you brother!

Pastor you are speaking directly to me with this sermon. Throughout my life I have struggled with anger and bitterness towards many people and a lot of it started with the way my narcissistic and mentally unstable parents treated and raised me and my siblings, to the toxic leaders I was exposed to in the military, to the poor choices I made regarding becoming unequally yoked with non-believers in interpersonal, or shall I say romantic relationships, in my past that went awry due to my old degenerate lifestyle. Now, in my current life, I've married a really good woman and have two great kids, but I still struggle greatly with that sense of anger and bitterness towards everyone. Pastor, I am respectfully requesting that you and your ministry pray for me to help me overcome these challenges and become more of an Elijah and less of a Samson. Especially coming as a military retiree (retired Navy Chief), I want to be a better example, not just to those I work with but also my entire family. If any of you reading this want to throw a prayer my way, I would greatly appreciate it. Much love, and God bless all of you!

My anger has led me to isolate to the point that I'm not even sure how I'd go about getting a wife😅. I'll pray for you if you pray for me

Mark, I want you to know that I ministered prophetically on a team at our church’s men’s conference recently, & there was no nonsense like shirtless sword swallowers. My husband attended with our godson, & it was a solid two-day conference. There were the typical man cave activities, but I didn’t mind as I was only there for our team ministry, plus, it wasn’t for women … it was for men. Real men …. There was wrestling & basketball & even a barbershop💈 interspersed between the sessions. You spoke briefly at our church once when you were transitioning out of your Seattle church. I hope you return with a word for our mega church. It’s a solid church, charismatic-lite, & we need a strong presence of God lest we fall prey to the seeker friendly model that stifles the glory of God.

People often say, “I’m not hurting anyone so it’s ok to sin (lying, stealing, sexual sins, disrespecting parents etc)” The same God who said to love your neighbour first said to love Him to the best of your ability. If you carry on sinning, then you do not love God but are selfish like the devil so you will be joined to your father in hell or repent of your sins and believe in Jesus as God so Jesus adopts you as His child and you will join Him in Heaven forever.

How about some sermons on what a WOMAN’s role is in marriage. What is a woman? that would be helpful to establish in American culture. Because all is geared towards men - trust me there is an imbalance and women are sitting on pedestals belittling men with disrespect and contempt. No one seems to put emphasis on the Christian female in relationships.

That's exactly why one of the things I asked God to remove from this last situation was bitterness because I was really mad like my body would tense up. I constantly ask him to help me forgive and I am now at the place where father forgive them for they know not what they do and I hope one day they realize how they did me but at the same time I wish them healing and the best. I don't wanna be like the person that hurt me. I only want the good from them.

I self destruct myself too. 1984 christian, went for great gov job and it ended and tried to go back repeatedly while in sin. Lost job, went on welfare, tried 2 different careers, both failed...while in sin. God always provided, to the end. Until, while in sin, any legacy I could have had, ended. Then I got real, ended the sin. But, like Darth Vader, "it's too late." Zero legacy. Wife belittles me and my past career is nothing but failure. Clean up while it's daylight. God will not be mocked!!

Mark, if we find we're on that Samson path and we are aware, how do we change course? I know I've done some Samson stuff from being stuck in battle mode over the years and have been told I'm scary when I'm angry. I don't want to be like that and feel so helpless to change it. I've been trying to for over a decade. Best i can manage is to isolate and have as little human contact so that i don't hurt people anymore than necessary. I don't know how to stop my explosive reactions when I've been wronged

While it is important to be independent and self reliant, nearly everything in this world and especially our relationships rely on what is called interdependence. Which means multiple independent, fully capable people working together to get a job done more easily and more effectively than a single person could do it alone.

@@firstlast8258 Make sure as a you are a repentant Christian. Read the Bible daily and pray often throughout the day, the devil is trying to make lukewarm Christians everywhere. Just pray for her to open up, and for God to help her with what she’s going through. And also pray for discernment, for when she does come to you, so that you can do the right things and give her the right advice. Also if she is cheating or doing something unrighteous behind your back God will also help you to discern that too. But don’t get it in your head that she is and don’t sweat it, God is on your side if you are following him, and he will fight for you. When she is ready she will come to you, she could be battling something spiritually, pray for her to have strength.

When the script is flipped and is a rebellious woman who has left, insist on shared custody, and files for divorce what am I to do? Been growing in Christ since becoming a husband and even more as a father, and I think that is the underlying reason for her rebellion. Been searching videos and the stuff on the Jezebel spirit has opened my eyes to some qualities I see in her but hoping to find something to inspire me to action that she might receive. I'm constantly praying, have fasted a few times and of course attempted to have biblical discussion with her and she continues to pull away farther. To the point where due to my declining health she does not care what pain I'm in, what household tasks I can't do with out causing more pain and injury. I see no love in her whatsoever, very hands off with the kids even. I continue to feel she is my wife and I made vows to her in God's presence and I intend to keep them.

Bitterness is a deadly poison. It is drunk by the fool who hopes it will kill someone else. The antidote prescribed by Christ is forgive and leave the "wrong" in the past. It's a horrible life to live looking backwards at those who wronged you. They live rent free in your heart/mind walking around with a wrecking bar smashing your future and your relationships.
