I personally find college a LOT more interesting and enjoyable than highschool was. But I also have the opportunity to choose a major of study that is both useful and highly interesting to me. I think the difference between highschool life (and younger) versus adult/ college life is that you have so much more control over the environment around you. Sure, college is stressful. It's expensive and you need good grades for your scholarships. But you chose to be there. Sure, working full time and paying rent, bills, etc. is stressful. But it's your own hard work and your own home now. I don't know, that's been my experience so far and it's been a lot better than highschool.

Because of them I don't have time for something else! Hardly I can go two times a week on training! But I guess there is not much to do except talking with teachers about it...

I honestly don't have the motivation for school anymore, I wanna drop out and take actual courses that will help me be who I want in the future. I had turned down two "great" opportunities for a good education, my friends got in and it's so stressful they don't even have a full summer to themselves. They only have 2 weeks of a summer with no learning, weekends not included, so they can retain information. I honestly want to just be happy when I grow up.

school is so stressful, lately its been nothing but learn chapter, test, learn chapter test, learn chapter, test, big end of school exams. There's no break and teachers just expect you to be able to do it as if you don't have a life outside of school. The system doesn't look like it is going to change anytime soon 4. It makes mental health problems much worse. 5. It rips away your inner child 6. It sets you into system that is seen as the only way to success, which is absolutely wrong 7. We are force fed crap that we will never use, and waste time way too often

What I hate about school is the fact that. I’m expected to be a straight A student; of course because of my Dad’s ridiculously high expectations for me, which he claims aren’t that bad. Which isn’t really THAT simple, I can’t just flawlessly do all my assignments and be the epitome of perfection. It’s so stressful. Not too long ago I was told that my summer would be based on how well my grades are. And for math I have a 44, soon to be a 66, I KNOW how pissed my dad would be and it just hurts me knowing that my whole summer will go to waste because of A SINGULAR. DAMN. GRADE.

School gave me a real down point in life, especially in third grade. I had so much stress build-up, being that I was the class president which I fully regret. I had to deal with attitudes, different personalities, misbehavior and just full-on stress overall. I had 3 crying sessions. It made me want to just switch schools or just be homeschooled all together. I lost my voice from trying to discipline them but never worked as usual. I'd go home with a frown on my face almost *everyday* . They called me 'bossy' and 'dramatic' but if they were in my place they would have understood. It was a hard weight to put on the shoulders of a 9 year old. I tried to emphasize with them but ended up being the weak one in that situation. I had expectations that I had to reach, like test scores or academic awards as well. If they knew what I was going through every single day, they would know how bad I feel. I wish I just stood aside and not run for class president but, expectations 😃. Apologies for the rant.

I know grades in schools are supposed to make sure students are doing their work and keeping up, but in my experience, all they have done is tear my family apart. We all try so hard to stay on track but I'm sure we all know how difficult it is to keep up at times, and the added pressure of "You could have an A+ in every subject if you'd just try a little harder" doesn't help. I end up stressing out over grades instead of learning at school most of the time.

"Despite the safe environment that schools provide for socializing" Wrong. Social environments in schools do not provide safety. And I'll provide an example. So take 7th grade me: in band, kind of quiet, more passive, just wanted to play trumpet. The other trumpet players were not nice to me. Bullied me consistently, to the point where I refused to go to school a few days. One instance, I decided to stick up for myself. I didn't know how to do this, so I went with what appeared to be a pretty solid option: refusing to share one of the books with another student. What was I met with? Infantilization and reprimand from the teacher herself. Who, may I add, never once addressed the issue of the other trumpet kids bullying me. Even into 8th grade. School does not care about you.

In my middle and elementary school (mostly middle school), the adults who were in charge of lunch didn't allow us to socialize during lunch. If we did, we weren't allowed to eat, we were forced to be quiet just to be allowed to eat (even though I'm a shy person, I still didn't like the idea). At the time, I thought it was normal, but I'm starting to think they were just abusing their power. Sometimes I feared that I wouldn't be able eat lunch at all. Even though most of the time I bring my own lunch, I always waited until everyone else got their food (because I was afraid they would make me bad for eating my food while they didn't have any). In middle school, I starting eating my lunch right away because I got tired of waiting for everyone else to get their food when I already had my own. One time, they did try to make me feel bad, but I decided to tell them off, I shouldn't have to restrict myself from eating just because they didn't have food. It's not fair to me, I had my own food so I should be allowed eat it whenever *I'm* hungry. But then mom made me have to eat school lunch, so now I had no choice (I don't think she knew what was going on, but even so she knew I didn't like the most of the school lunch there). They were shitty people for doing that and they had no right to restrict children from eating lunch just for socializing. Even if it was too loud, they should've always allowed us to eat.

People only care about grades. They are obsessed with numbers. Who is among the top 3 and who is not. People change their attitudes based on your grade. If you get a good result, you are praised. But the moment your grade drops a little, they completely isolate you as if they're saying "So what if you got a somewhat good result in your previous test, this time is different". But thanks to that I learned whom to trust and whom to avoid. That's why I hate school. Things would have been really tough if my friends were not there.

1. Well, telling a teacher about being bullied (at least in my school) is even worse than keeping it as a secret. Teachers only make it worse because they don’t know how to talk with students about this stuff and don’t want to learn how to. After the dumb „Don’t bully, it’s bad” talk bullies are even more cruel than before and make sure your school life is a hell. So, I don’t tell teachers about being bullied in school. 2. Teachers in my school expect good students to always get good grades no matter what. I was always quite good at maths but once I got D from a test because I misunderstood the subject. The teacher said something like: „Oh dear, you were such a good student, what happened? I expected more from you.” 3. In my case bullying is on a level where the new students are being turned against me for bullies make sure that I’ll always be alone. _AND YET OTHERS ARE SAYING „YOU’RE OVERREACTING!” WHEN I TRY TO EXPLAIN WHY I ABSOLUTELY HATE SCHOOL_

What I Iearned in school: -my feelings don't matter. Even if they did nobody will understand them anyway -who cares if my head is overfilled with sensories and is unable to function, bad grades makes me a bad person -no one will help me in my meltdowns or sensory overloads, i'm just too sensitive - nobody will like me because of how weird I am - I can't be weak, even if my head, stomach and limbs hurt -I need to accept the bullying, because let's be honest, making loud sounds isn't something bad, right? -I have to like people, even if I'm uncomfortable and want to run away

For the people who wish they had good grades: I got good grades in school (like A and A+, or 9-10/10 in my school system) and it was actually horrible, like yeah you get praise and kind of a feeling of accomplishment, but you have to deal with a lot of problems as well. 1. People get jealous and either start talking behind your back to try to take you down or simply start bullying you because they feel inferior. 2. Because of 1, many people try to get away from you and you have difficulties to make friends unless they have good grades too (which is seen as elitist when it's obviously not) 3. You feel the need to study yourself to exhaustion because you have to maintain the good grades and the "image" of good student your parents, teachers and classmates have, which is a lot of pressure 4. When your grades drop a little (like to a B or sth) people start judging you and make fun of you because they got a better grade and the pressure is even higher (and they even pity you like wtf) 5. People judge you and think that you get those grades because you're smart and not because you literally study from morning to dawn, as if it was something easy when it's not (I spent a whole year sleeping 4-5h daily to keep up with my studies) 6. Any comment referred to a teacher is seen as if you were sucking up to them (which is not true) and they criticize you on your face or even behind your back. 7. I had to deal with anxiety and depression for 2 years because of the pressure. Even though I have a good memory of my school life (kinda, now I'm a university student), it really was horrible for my mental health. There are a lot more things that I can't remember rn but yes, if you've read until now, my recommendation is just get normal grades (like B or C/7 or 8/10), it's a lot better

I have a little tip for everyone stressed with school. Mostly, talk to your teachers about it. I know not every school is as well versed on mental health or helps students as much, but you might be surprised by what some teachers are willing to do for you. I was almost constantly stressed for 2 years. I still did well in school, but all enjoyment was gone. I had way too high expectations for myself and felt that if I didn’t get the best grade on every test, I had been lazy. At one point, I just kind of caved in. I ended up having a really difficult conversation with one of my teachers and with someone at school that was something of a counseler. They allowed me to drop out of a class (one I didn’t need to do, but was causing a lot of stress), not do two tests (as I was already doing well in those subjects) and I got a “time-out” card (something I could give my teachers if I felt stressed so I could just leave the classroom). I got way more help than I would have ever thought I could get. My teachers were helpful and understanding and things are a little better nowadays. So don’t be afraid to talk to your parents or teachers about stress. Don’t allow yourself to go through these things on your own. You deserve to go to school happily.

My family had high standards for me, my mother committed to school so much in her life and got a ton of privileges, and my father struggled so hard to get where he is. As such, they have high expectations on what we accomplished. As such, they believe school to be the single most important thing about the world. My mother even said that she KNEW the school system was messed up, but she wanted us to go through with it anyway, because there was no choice. I'm on the autism spectrum, and I never felt like I was good enough for a future, because of the system. School made my social anxieties even worse, and it made me feel as though I was worth nothing. I got pressured for hours a day to answer school questions, even in the middle of the night, and I just shut down. I believed that school was the most important thing, and that the problem was me, that I wasn't good enough if I don't get As. I was so caught up in this belief, that I harassed a ton of kids who thought there was something more important than schoolwork. They hated me. They wanted to bully me so hard from it. Which eventually turned to self loathing, as I believed they were in the wrong. Soon, I believed I was in the wrong. Then I moved away, and I began to see my life outside of that. I began to explore my love of filmmaking, art, fictional writing, how much more alive I feel outdoors, and even finding love, my partner being someone who almost never got to be a part of school. Then that caused me to fail school, and ever since, everyone disapproved of what I want to do with my life, considered it to be a waste of time, and that I was ruining my life. Even when I'm moved out, in college, my parents would pressure me hard to do nothing but study. That I didn't deserve to do what I loved unless I got an A. And I still fail. I try to appeal to school, and I still fail. More times than you think, I've hated myself for a letter. I was told time and time again that I was in the wrong, that I didn't get it, that school was the only thing that could prepare me for a future. I was diagnosed with anxiety almost two years ago, and when it started, I couldn't even go outside without feeling like I didn't deserve to be out there. That I was a bad person for not committing to school. My whole belief of school ever since I was a kid, being thrown in the bin by my own brain, and even trying to put the textbooks down and live my life, gave me anxiety attacks. Didn't help that my family thought my poor grades meant I had no future, and how much they (accidentally, admittedly) rubbed that in my face. They love me, they think that's for the best. I was a fool to ever give into that. To this day, I still question if what I'm doing, and if even rebelling the school system is the right thing to do. But I do know that it's what I need to do. Because school didn't help me find love, I did. School didn't teach me about creativity, I did. School didn't help me find my identity, I did. That's the truth. All school did was disapprove of those three things. And I severely regret EVER telling kids that should commit to that system. The system is cruel, and it's wrong. I get that now. They hated me for my commitment in the first place, and I deserve it. Which is why I'm trying to redeem myself, by addressing this issue and helping people understand that they are good enough for the world the way they are. They don't have to pass any test to live a life. I failed my English final in school, and yet, I was praised by a lot of people for my writing work in so many ways. What does that tell you? What does that tell you about how school defines your success and happiness? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I think there should be a site where all the students can share their probs with each other and help each other coz school doesn't care about us. We must seek help ourselves before we get messed up more by the school... Or maybe there should be a some sort of community unlike school where we can learn and study whatever we're interested in and surround ourselves with the students having same passion or interest as us. A community where you won't be judged , discriminated or bullied. 😌 it may also be beneficial for those suffering from anxiety n all

Things I learned from school: If you try really hard, you will still fail Everyone will hate you if you be yourself Most rules don't matter The system only changes when it becomes inconvenient for those who created it Grades matter more than your emotional and physical well-being If you don't work well with the people in your group, it is always your fault A majority of guys in my own age group are bullies Never trust those who are similar to the ones who were mean to you in the past Keep your pain to yourself because people will use it against you Being a good person means that you won't be able to have many friends Talking is a crime Your parents will hate you if you don't get the same good grades they did If you aren't good at every single subject, you are a bad student A majority of the things you learn in school don't actually matter when you are an adult Technology is terrible because it doesn't work right most of the time Sports are awful because everyone else is better at them than you and they will bully you for failing The teachers matter more than you because you are a child and they are not How to plan really well How to survive from bullying, overly strict teachers, and emotionally abusive parents at the same time How to motivate myself to keep living by focusing on goals such as college and moving across the country to save myself from the ptsd I got while living in the same horrible place my entire childhood

I’m not doing good in academics currently because I have short term memory. When we do academics it’s basically a memorization test. It’s kind of like what Anne said in Anne with an E. “You make me memorize, I forget. You teach me, I remember. You involve me, I learn.” If it took me 4 grades to memorize the multiplication table from 1-10, how do you expect me to learn about new things quickly? How come we spend years doing the multiplication table but we spend a week learning about a harder subject? It makes no sense. The school system is trash but we still rely on our memorization skills to determine how intelligent we are.

School (particularly, middle school.) has made me overwhelmed, made me more depressed, so much more anxious, have lower self-esteem, and a lot. I’ve been through a lot of bullying but middle school has been nothing but hell, its even worse when you have only like 1 friend. I’ve been isolated and everything. And there’s a lot more in that department, but on top of all that, I’m stressed about getting into college and getting good grades enough to pass when I’m really bad at math, and I’ve been trying but with all the bullying it’s honestly dropped my grades. And with the amount of assignments I need to do in a short amount of time it just makes everything SO much worse. I hate middle school so much

I used to get sick a lot in skl and it makes me miss out a lot of days. So when I miss all those days I got intense low self esteem, stress and anxiety. And the first impression I get when I go to skl is that the teachers might be thinking I just don’t like school, because I never actually demonstrated fainting or intense pain in front of them. So it all made me a bit mentally unstable. I just want to get school over with

100% hit rate. To quote Einstein, "I failed school, and the school failed me." Guess I've always been worthless.

School is like a prison but with stress and anxiety and also depression There was one time that I entered a competition about chess and my classmate that is a prodigy of chess my teacher has great expectations of my classmate and when I battle with my classmate I heard my teacher talking to another teacher said " that girl doesn't know how to play chess she just move her pieces without thinking" at that time I feel down depressed and mostly hate entering contest or competition By the I love PsychToGo videos

I hate school sm, teacher keep us 4-8 hours in a building and literally forcing us to study, when i was younger i used to think school would be so fun and i could make so much friends, but now everything is just about those stupid grades. If you get bad grades some parents will most likely get mad at their kids and then force them to study more and more, they don’t even realize that it’s really destroying students.
