Have you heard about dancing mania? While some mental conditions are well documented with treatment options, there are still others that we know very little about. In this video, we cover: erotomania, musical ear syndrome, visual snow syndrome, alien hand syndrome, folie a deux, hemispatial neglect, aphantasia, synesthesia, factitious disorder, and dancing mania. Which of these have you heard about before?

I have aphantasia and 90% of the time i just don't have dream or they are really short. But when i do dream i just wake up feeling a certain way (happy, sad, scared, ect) i can hear and feel stuff in my dreams but i never see anything. It's just pitch black then i wake up. And as an artist this is really difficult, because I'll have an idea but i won't know how it looks. It really sucks. I also have snow vision syndrome and it doesn't effect me too much, beside my pretty bad night vision, but it's manageable

i have visual snow syndrome and basically all the symptoms that come with it and let me tell you, it's a pain to deal with. i'm forever disassociating because of it and i will often walk into things as my depth perception is terrible. not to mention, the photophobia that can come with it is physically painful. thankfully most people only have it mild, but it can impact your daily life a LOT for some of us edit: i also am autistic and have sensory issues ontop of that, so when one plays up, the other starts playing up too. it's so irritating lmao

My mom has Erotomania and I feel so bad for her :( we have tried everything but she deeply believes that he's waiting for her and that he loves her. when we try to talk to her she starts to cry and tells us that we are trying to bring bad luck to her and that when that happens we will regret having said it. She even stalk him on his social media, she texts him every day but obviously he never answers and doesn't even know about her but she deeply thinks that he has read everything and he does not answer because his wife is jealous and control him. Mom i hope that one day you'll forget him and get better. I love you...

I've been talking over the symptoms I've had with my parents and researching it more, hopefully gonna meet with a doctor about it soon on my youtube deep dives on it, I found a video called "visual snow relief" which is basically a video of static, where watching is supposed to help relieve the symptoms. I stared at it for a bit, then looked at another screen, and nearly cried because for a SPLIT SECOND everything was clear - then it got "fuzzy" again :P video for those who are interested (if it lets me share the link) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmGTl2yLg855ars im gonna experiment with it to see if i staring at it for various periods of time will help at all

I related to 2 and 7 surprisingly much! I really often hear music, that comes from my mind, and it can be a little distracting. I don't find it uncomfortable though. It's pretty hard for me to imagine pictures, they often are blurry and I can't imagine them for long. It's super easy to imagine sounds and speaking, even if it's someone else's voice, in my head though.

Visual snow sufferer here. I was diagnosed around a month ago and when I first started showing symptoms, I thought I was going blind so it caused me horrible distress and it was extremely concerning that no doctor seemed to have any idea what was causing it until I went into the hospital and did various tests for a week, and even now, every doctor I've spoken to said they've never heard of it before my case, I'm so glad awareness is being brought to it but I will say, for many people, it isn't mild and very much affects daily life. It comes with a whole host of symptoms besides the visuals, and there are varying presentations of the visual affects beyond the static. I have floaters, palinopsia, double vision, random colored spots in my peripheral vision, afterimages, and really bad light sensitivity, I cannot see outside without sunglasses. If I'm indoors I can forget about it depending on the light conditions, other times I have to wear sunglasses indoors. VSS is highly linked to migraines, I had debilitating ones every other day for a while. I also get frequent pain in the upper corners of my eyes toward my nose and my eyes get strained and fatigued easy. I have brain fog and memory issues. I also have tinnitus and insomnia, all of which I didn't have before my symptoms appeared. It causes a lot of abnormal effects that you wouldn't think it would cause, but neurological conditions tend to affect many parts of the body. It really sucks to live with, but I'm just glad this isn't something progressive, and I recently started treatment and I'm hoping for the best! Thank you for listening to my story!

I know it's not technically a "disorder" but nobody really talks about Maladaptive Daydreaming and I think it's pretty cool (I have it myself). It's basically daydreaming elaborate and realistic fantasies (daydreams) and doing this for hours a day. It's also common to do it with music playing or pacing around on the floor. For example, I'll put on my headphones with music and walk in circles for hours daydreaming about characters I've built up over the years and specific plots. It's really cool, unless it begins to become distracting and causes you to loose focus on important tasks. Otherwise it's a great thing to do when you're bored :D

Y e s . I’m trying so hard to not constantly daydream. It’s hard when you have a busy schedule outside of the house, then when you’re home and should be taking care of yourself (personal hygiene/sleep) or doing homework, you end up staring at the wall for hours daydreaming instead. I want to do something with my life and quit daydreaming about being someone else in different sorts of situations but it’s so difficult to try to resist.

@@moni8908 I don’t think you sound rude at all. Some potential causes of head rushes are: -Nervous system disorders -Dehydration (That’s all I could really find) I’d suggest: (after doing some research) -checking your medication (if you’re on any) because it could be causing low blood pressure -making sure you’re staying hydrated -standing up slowly (apparently clenching your leg muscles before standing up helps because it pushes blood around more) -if you get really dizzy after meals then it’s advised you eat smaller portions more regularly -apparently getting some exercise can help as well Please seek medical advise! I’m not an expert on any of this but I really do think you would benefit from a visit to the doctors.

He doesn't have synesthesia ( at least he never mentions it) but he has savant syndrome and a form of Asperger's. This means he is incredibly intelligent an amazing memory but a hard time communicating and interacting with others. He is able to think of days as colours (he was born on a Wednesday which is blue; this is the reason of the memoir's name) as well as think of numbers like people. I highly recommend it to anyone who's interested!

I remember when I was younger I had a headache and it went away after a bit so I bashed my head (not too hard, but hard enough for it to hurt) into the frame of my bed. Honestly, it’s weird. Idk why but it basically feels like an injury or sickness needs to be to a specific extent to get treatment, and for me that extent is unusually high, and I feel the urge to get treatment for even some of the smallest things. It doesn’t always happen, but when it does, afterwards I get really confused as to why I did whatever I did to make my injury/sickness worse/look worse. Hopefully it won’t come back to bit me one day 😬

Monday is blue, Tuesday is yellow, Wednesday is dark green / purple, Thursday is lime green, Friday is Red, Saturday is light blue, Sunday is Orange. I've never really thought about it before, but when i think about it now , it's just always been that way since I can remember :o

monday is red like the number one and tuesday is yellowish brown and wednesday is green and thursday is brown like the number 8 and friday is light blue/yellow and sunday is yellow/orange lol I never actually realized until now that I actually think of some numbers and days as colors- I think they have to do with the letters which make up the word, the way it sounds, and things that sound like other words (Like SUN-day, making me think yellow like the sun). IDK if I actually have this condition but I definitely do often think of numbers as colors, and sometimes days of the week, mostly thursday which is brown, and tuesday which is lighter brown.

Exactly. I can't complain about anything without someone saying that people have it worse, which is one of the worst possible mindsets ever. It could keep people in abusive relationships and have people not speak out about their problems because "others have it worse", as if the grey area doesn't exist. There's a spectrum, people.

I have musical ear syndrome, visual snow syndrome, and synthesia. It is hard to sleep with musical ear syndrome because of hearing loud sounds and instruments in the middle of the night due to the silence, and it really scares me when it happens. One time, it drove me to the point where my family and I had to help me calm down for an hour after having a mental breakdown because of it. On the other hand, visual snow syndrome and synthesia are fun ones. Seeing the static is so cool and can be an ASMR experience while synthesia can be fun to write what colors or words to with which colors and words. Also when listening to music, I also taste certain things and people say it's colors, which seems pretty cool! Some downsides are that when I'm trying to walk and I start seeing static, it's dark and I run into everything and it's bad. I'm glad you made this video so I can find out which I have and that people out there have it with me!

story time, when i was 7, 5 years ago, someone in my class had a crazy harry potter obsession. a draco malfoy obsession to be exact. they highly believed that draco malfoy's actor ( tom felton ) was in love with them. one time, someone said "he doesnt even know you exist." she got really mad and threw the person's backpack across the room.. i think she has the first disorder.

Great video! :) I now realize how many of these I have, that I didn’t even know was an actual disorder 😭 Not that I’ve bee diagnosed, but from what I can gather, I definitely have musical ear syndrome. I thought it was normal this whole time too. But every time I’d say something like, “yeah, whenever a room is silent and it’s just me and my brain, I have like 25 different songs playing over each other at the same time, just repeating over and over” they’d tell me that’s not normal 💀 Another thing I definitely have is alien hand syndrome. I’ve always tried to explain this, but people don’t seem to understand. It happens rarely, thankfully, but very randomly. I love how they used a pencil as an example because that’s usually what I’m holding when it happens. I believe I have aphantasia, but it’s hard to explain. For example, I can’t picture an actual apple. It’s like my mind draws an apple. Especially with faces. For instance, I’ll be like “oh yeah, I know my mom’s face. I can picture it.” But when I actually think about it, it’s not actually her face. It’s hard to explain. Anyways, it’s interesting to learn more about these disorders :) thanks for the video
