This was a nice tutorial and I appreciate that you got right to the demos and avoided a lot of unnecessary talk that I see in many other videos. Good information Gemma!

I bought white pencil and its not drawing white, I tried erasers, white markers, white paint pens.. NOTHING WORKS, what is happening??? Have you seen a artist named Devon Rodrigues? He draws and has some kind of very white marker or pencil and it works for him.

the embossing white hack was huuuge for me prior to getting a white paint pen and derwent white pencil. The electric eraser & craft methods aren't ones I've gotten to try yet, but that could be huge too. I play around with a faber castell eraser over blue for water, but honestly that has mixed results (I'm a total amateur at everything, only been drawing for like 4 months). always stoked to see videos like this, thanks for sharing (:

i always damage the paper when i use electric erasers, too heavy handed probably lol so i just try to keep the lightest parts as light as possible. working on sanded paper helps me get highlights easily, especially if i use a pastel pencil when i can

I quite enjoyed your video. I will on occasion use artist quality white acrylic at the very end of a painting. Example would be eye highlights, or tiny spots. It works very well over colored pencils and it will last the painting's life. I have also tried the "Brush and Pencil" Titanium White powder which is good and you can add color on top, but it is more finicky to get a handle on it, such as the ratio of powder/touch-up liquid to get the right consistency and amount needed without wasting either as it is not cheap. Good video. thank you.

I love drawing realistic butterflies but they got super small white spots and every time I outline them to leave them white I end up making them smaller with my colors pencils 😭
