Hey, i just wanted to say thank you! I am a self learned artist and besides doing commissions and studies, mostly digital, I kinda forgot to have fun while sketching. I recently made my own sketchbooks after watching some tutorials online and after that your video popped up in my recommendations. I'm always completely technical and a perfectionist when it comes to drawing, so your ideas, while not really my style (no offense) really inspired me to let loose. I really love everything about your art and your personality. I'm just a beginner getting started, at 40 , but I cant wait to learn as I go and I will be joining skillshare for some guidance. People also do stylized self portraits to see their current style and such, I’d say more people do that than realism actually. Great tips and video!

Lately I've totally been into using cheap dollar store masking tape ripped into thin strips ( cuz I like the funky edges ) and sectioning out a piece of paper then doing something different with each section. Some are colored and famous quotes written in a complimentary color of fineliner. Some are zen tangled in each section. Some even have text in the white space left by the tape. One page is colored with highlighters, that's a bright one. The point is, it's so unbelievably easy to do. So, when your brain shuts down, but your hands are twitching and begging for something to do, there's something you can do. Heck, it's so easy even a boyfriend or husband could join you and help rip tape hahaha jk jk jk don't freak out. You're right, just leave him on the couch like usual 😉

I think it’s okay to feel that way! You may feel really proud of yourself if you stick it out and fill it anyway. It’s amazing the progress you make from the start to the end of a sketchbook! Every time I look back at the stuff I once hated, I am proud of how much I’ve improved. I hope that’s encouraging for you! You are definitely improving as long as you are doing art. 💜💜💜
