As a fellow hairdresser I love your channel you’re information is concise and informative. Actually love how you warn people that as hairdressers we often do crazy things to our own hair but we have the best products,tools and unlimited services at our fingertips when most people may not so it’s not worth the risk of abusing your hair.

My hair is dry & thin. At 42 I get grey hairs in every 4 weeks, so I need touch ups. I still struggle keeping my hair soft enough & adding shine. Even between washes. Would love recommendations for keeping hair healthy & using reasonably priced products for softness & shine 😊

Thanks for a great vid! I too have done it all an am now 58 and finally enjoying my (still natural dark, not yet grey) fine curly hair for what it is. I never shampoo anymore. I do brush thoroughly each day and occasionally rinse well massaging the scalp thoroughly and condition. But each day after brushing I just dampen and scrunch and the curls are so pretty. I never enjoyed them at all! I am a retired hairdresser….liscensed through a high school cosmetology program in 1982! Anyway, great vid Gabi! 🙂⭐️❤️⭐️🙏🏼⭐️

Fine curly hair girls unite! I am going to be making a video on enhancing your curls with light diffusing and proper products soon! It's shocking to people how curly my hair actually is when I let it do what it wants to do. The less you heat style, the nicer your curls become. My hair is only a puffball when I air dry it because I heat style everyday and I don't have a good haircut for curly hair. Thanks for watching fellow hairdresser friend!

I used to let my hair air dry naturally, to avoid heat damage - as my hair's already damaged from bleaching. It always came out super frizzy, until I discovered air dry cream. So after washing, I gently squeeze out the extra water and pat dry with a towel, then wrap it in a microfiber hair wrap for like 20 more minutes to absorb even more water before applying an air dry cream and letting it air dry on its own. A lot less frizz that way for me, without the use of heat tools to tame it. You'll just have to accept the way your hair falls on its own when it dries. Also start from ends and work up with the cream, or else you'll have flat hair and risk being oily (especially with super fine hair like me). A little goes a long way. This won't work for everyone, everyone's hair is different, but just another tip thrown out there for anyone who wants it. (I let it air dry indoors, not sure how this works if you let it air dry while going out)

Gabi I have been watching every video you have made since I found your channel about 2 months ago. My hair is so similar to yours. Hi, Gabi. I love your videos and tips. I've been having my hair chemically treated for years now. I have it "treated" in the salon with a product called London New York, a kind of brazilian blowout. My hair is quite fine, but I have a lot of it. It's naturally wavy/curly, but not really defined, it's just like a big mass of hair undefined and with a lot of volume, really hard to deal with. That's why I have it treated. I do not have it died and avoid heat tools as much as possible. After I had a surgery in 2018, it felt like my hair had a chemichal cut and it shed a lot. After that, it became even more unruly. I really wish I could stop the brazilian blowout, but I just don't know how. By the way, I live in Brazil, on the beach ( santos), so it's Hot and humid and I go to the gym everyday. Another thing, my hair is apparently healthy, I have the brazilian blowout done every 3 to 4 months.

Thank you for this video! I am so excited that Penn Smith talked about you in her video! My hair is becoming very fine and fragile. Last March, I cut off a lot of damaged length from my hair and began wearing my wavy/curly layered mid-length hair in its more natural state to give it a chance to heal, but I still need to use products and my hair dryer with a diffuser to be able to live with the results. I feel that it's less damaging than pulling my hair with a round brush, right? But I really can't imagine doing anything less. Because the long section of my hair is messed up after sleeping on it (the top is okay), I end up spraying the length with my water spritzer and then reapply product and re-dry with the diffuser and my fingers. I don't know how else to live with my hair, short of pulling it up, which is okay sometimes, or cutting it off (not an option I would want!). I can't grow out the layers completely because it becomes flat and just overwhelms my face. What would you tell someone like me?? It seems to me that my hair is too much work and I don't really know a way around that to be able to tolerate what it looks like. I apologize for the long comment, but what am I doing wrong? Maybe the wrong style? Thoughts?? Thank you!

It does leave a white residue but after I brush my hair through very well, it does go away. It is also great for building texture if you're doing some kind of textured wave or even an updo. If you want no white film at all though, give Milkshake a try. I have had success with that on my own super dark hair.

@GlamGirlGabi
@GlamGirlGabi 2 жыл бұрын
Your hair hasn't gotten worst, it probably just doesn't look as good because you aren't making it glossy and smooth with the heat tools. The actual structure of the hair is probably much stronger even if it doesn't look as aesthetically perfect. If you haven't heat styled since the pandemic, I bet your hair is in amazing condition so there is no real reason why you can't start heat styling again. I blow out my hair everyday (mind you I keep the heat lower or I use the ZUVI HALO and I also use fantastic styling products) but my hair isn't damaged at all anymore. Invest in some nice protective styling products and go for it if you want that glossy finish again!

I do! They’re totally different. SRI Dry Q is tiny and powerful. It’s amazing for travelling (and extra great for me because I am an on-location stylist so I travel to different locations daily). ZUVI has no heating coils so it is a high end dryer that dries the hair using light energy. Both good but also both completely different tools. If you’re looking for damage repair or to minimize heat damage, ZUVI is better. If you want a powerful and small dryer for travel, SRI Dry Q is better.

@GlamGirlGabi
@GlamGirlGabi 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Monica! Yes for sure! The Dyson Airwrap is a great tool for smoothing hair with minimal amounts of damage. Do you have the complete set? If your hair is frizzy, the smoothing flat brush (the one without the pink bristles) is the best for that. As long as you keep the heat lower, you can still style to manage frizz. I never let my hair air dry because I look like a puffball if I do that.

@@GlamGirlGabi yes. My hair is super puffy on top. I have the complete set. I been trying to let it air dry and then styling the next morning with the Dyson but it does not tame my frizz as well as if I blow dry it.

@@monicacancel8981 Yeah you can't control hair very well when it is dry. You can try to let it air dry and then the next morning, mist it lightly with a spray bottle. I am actually showing how I do that in a video that I am launching tuesday of next week. That may really help and the damage with that is minimal if any at all.

Hi, You mentioned a smoothing cream. Is that for fly-aways and sleek hairstyles like the one you’re wearing in your video today? Can you recommend one? My hair type is similar to yours. Thx! P.S. Love your earrings❣️

Hey! Yup it is for smoothing hair before blow drying it, for using after a blow dry to create slick looks, etc. The one that I have been using lately is by Hairstory and it’s great. It looks like facial moisturizer but for your hair. I use it when my hair is wet for a smooth blow dry but I also use it when my hair is dry to create slick looks.

You’re totally right. I’m actually filming a video about that this week. My hair is actually very very textured.
