This is by far the best landscape photography video I've seen in a very long time. The advice is great and the photos are "to die" for!!! Well done Will.

William, I think your photos are just as epic as Bierstadt's paintings. In my eyes you are a master craftsman in your art. Your images at times have moved me to tears. You always make us 'think'. Thank you for your unceasing effort of encouraging and helping us to reach our potential. (On a recent camping trip, my daughter previewing images on my camera said, "William would be proud of you, Mum." It made my day :)

I've watched many videos on these topics was, but your explanation on why to use them has been the best and clicked in my head. Thank you for taking time to make these videos. Now I want to go back and re-edit some of my photos.

Love your use of 150+ year old landscape paintings as examples to guide us today. When I travel I almost always visit an art museum if they have works of the old master landscape painters. I love them for the same reasons (and others) that you mentioned, and also perceived many aspects to aspire to. So kudos to you for that example and lesson!

Thanks! Yeah, I generally feel more inspired from looking at paint then photographs. The atmospherics are just so much better and there's something nostalgic about it, like a timelessness. Something I try and convey in my images, which is easier said than done haha. Thanks :)

@@WilliamPatinoPhotography I totally agree. Frederic Edwin Church and the Hudson River School work is my fav. You’ve done a great job of capturing the essence in my opinion.

Hey William I just purchased your AI, LR and PS bundle and have been playing around with them. I also started watching your videos like this one and have to say that listening to you has really brought back my love of nature and landscape photography that I've also done over the years but have drifted away from it. Last 3 years has mostly been my plane spotting video and photography work and even your presets have worked well on those photos as well. Thanks for all the amazing talents you have and thanks for sharing them with all of us.

I found it funny finding this video since just yesterday I actually saw the Bierstadt painting in DC. It’s truly amazing seeing it in person, and i’ll sure use it as an inspiration for my future shots

I have been binging many of your videos, William. You have an excellent approach to teaching and your editing is just excellent. You have me going through photos and seeing them in an entirely different way and enjoying the editing process. I am now a K for the brush mask guy and loving the control that I feel I have on shaping light and adding atmospheric perception. I look forward to seeing your channel grow and look forward to more tutorials. Cheers.

Great point about the atmospheric distant tones. It truly does demonstrate a change in depth and the way our eyes perceive great detail and contrast up close and how that changes with distance.

Exactly. We’ve all observed it our whole lives, so it stands out when an image has been processed too heavily. Cheers.
