5 Ways to Get Your First Real Estate Photography Client | PROFITABLE 2021 Strategy

In this video I go over 5 unique ways to find your first real estate photography client! Wether you are truly a beginner looking for your first client or you are a seasoned pro looking for ideas to build your business, these 5 strategies can definitely help.
Tip #1: Send cold emails. This has proven time and time again to be a successful way for me to grow my business. Start emailing all of the real estate agents in your area and offer your services for you next listing. Get creative and start emailing.
Tip #2: Texting agents. Just like you don't like get a sales call, neither do real estate agents. Trust me, they are being sold to a lot. Texting is a less intrusive way of offering your service, following up with and emails, etc.
Tip #3: Build an email list. Find a way to get a list of all of the active real estate agents in your area. Once you have that list, develop a strategy to keep reaching out to them and build a long term presence.
Tip #4: Do it for FREE. If you are brand new and don't have a portfolio to show for, doing free shoots is a way to not only build a portfolio but to gain more experience. Offer free shoots to agents that have active listings that don't have the best photos. If you tell them you'd like to shoot for them for free in order to build your portfolio, there is a good chance they will say yes and could lead to paid shoots.
Tip #5: Join your local Realtor association. If you join your local association as a photographer, you will have many chances to get in front of an audience of agents. This could be a little scary for some people with stage fright but it is definitely effective to grow your real estate photography business.

@@hannahturner6629 yeah actually, I ended up focusing more on food photography but email pitching really has worked well. Once I pitch and they are interested I still have to do a discovery call with them, but in real estate maybe that's not the case.

Good morning, what would be your best tip for creating a portfolio and what should that portfolio consist of for a beginner?

Realtors want to see nice and bright interior photos with good windows and composition. Show off those interiors and of course have some exteriors as well. I would build a website for the portfolio. It's a little harder than just using a portfolio gallery online but it's much more professional. My website is build with wordpress using Astra as my theme and then Elementor as my builder. That's an option or you could use a site like Wix or Squarespace

I think emails work best from my experience. I think cold calling does work though. My biggest client came from a cold call. I called and said I took photos for their competitor and that competitor spoke highly of them and just wanted to call to introduce myself. It worked out really well

A Realtor Association. There's a Realtor association in every city and it's where Realtors register and pay their dues. You can also go there and register as a business.

I personally chose to have people book by just contacting me (text/call/email). I originally wanted a booking system but I attribute part of my success to building relationships. I think a booking system removes some of the relationship building.

Serious question... what do you do about all of the regulations for phone marketing? I tried calling agents and the VERY FIRST one I called immediately said... "I'm on the do not call list" in a very stern voice. I immediately looked into it and the fine for violating the do not call list is over 40k. (I had a miny anxiety attack directly after.) The setup process to comply also seemed more complicated than I was up for, so I stuck to emailing. (which has been a rough road tbh.)

If you looked up the number online and called, it's fair game. The national "Do not call" list is for automated telemarketing services. If you want my opinion, that realtor was just being an a-hole.
