I'm locked up here at home without a pool table and dying to get some practice time in. I figured there were lots of us stuck at home and wanted to make this video to help you to continue improving your game even if you don't have access to a pool table.
If you want to support my channel, simply comment and like the video. I am shooting for 100,000 subs by the end of this year, so if you are new here and enjoy these kinds of videos, consider subscribing.

I’m very visual, so I like watching pro tournaments or highlights repeatedly to take note of the shots they take. JJs commentary is also great. I seem to study that way and have grown my game studying that way. I’ve also noticed when I put myself in the same situation as a highlight video I saw, which I then know how to play it based on the video I remember seeing

One thing that really helped me recently was, maintaining my shoulder blade position on back stroke and forward stoke. I mean it is night and day! This would be great to consider when doing the bottle drill. After some time doing this, I could feel those little muscles in my shoulder blade get worked out. Your welcome!!! And thanks for the great vid!!! 😎

Dude wow cool. This is just the advice I needed. I was just getting to a point with my playing after watching good tutorials on here and solo practice. I was thinking my skills would definitely take a hit from isolation. I even bought a mini pool table but that's like playing marbles not pool. I'm gonna try these drills and focus on my fundamentals now. I've heard of that visualization study before but never really thought to apply it to pool so yeah .. thanks for the tips!

Dupree shows and explains a lot of different fundamentals and choices of shots. Watching his Utube videos has helped me for league nights. I shoot Missouri 8 and I have improved so much. My stats have went up and my handicap has went up as well.

Great video and really useful for those not lucky enough to have a table at the moment. Before I got a table I used the bottle technique, that's a really good one. Another one is to use a straight line. Any straight line will do, drawn on a piece of paper or a tape measure or something. Just practice straight cueing along that line. Pay particular attention to pushing the cue right through the shot and making sure that the tip of your cue ends up on that line.

I agree Dr. Cue is excellent as well as Brandon Billiards. Both of these gentlemen have short, precise videos. They are usually between 2 to 3 minutes each, short, sweet and to the point especially great for those who can't or don't want to spend hours on a particular point.

Luckily, for me, I have several of my matches that were recorded when I played in an APA MVP tournament as well as one team match in the local APA playoffs. I go back often and watch these matches to see where my weak areas are and critique my own play. By watching my own mistakes I develop a list of things that I need to improve on.

The Talent Code by Daniel Coyle is a great book about the process of training and improving (at anything). Also, what I do these days is close my eyes and visualize a whole runout, from the break shot to the 9 ball. I take my time to imagine and memorize the positions of the balls after the break, and then focus on each shot with position, thinking two balls ahead like I normally would. Great exercise for the mind.

I like pool, but with who do you actually play when you're at some high level? In my town I just play from time to time with my friend, there's one who likes pool more than others, like me, so we like to play with each other. Although what about you? Who do you play with when you're at kind of pro level? Because it's not like an online game when you can just connect and play with a random person. Do you have some pool clubs where you come and play for fun, or what?

If you wanna have perfect speed control and be able to adjust quickly for any table within five minutes I learned a system of queuing from a guy name Ignacio Chavez. I have not played for two years since the coronavirus a friend invited me to go down and play on a 7 foot table diamond dirty cloth so played real sticky I had broken ran two racks and not saying that to brag I’m just saying this to say the system that I had developed through these previous players seem to give me A big advantage over your average player.
