Interesting view, describing it as beginner Synth. Very instructional video, as always! However, when thinking about a great beginner softsynth, I immediately had to think about "Circle²" by FAW. The all in one screen interface is super helpful and the color coded connections are useful as well. IIRC their demo policy is quite nice as well. And I heard they are cooking up something new as well... | Remarks about Arturias marketing following if you click on more: Seeing all those Pigment videos popping up at the same time, made me realize again how much Arturia trusts into their KZbin "Influencers". I know it is a word you probably do not like to hear (and I really do not want to spark the discussion about the whole topic again), but it so obvious how much money Arturia puts into their marketing through KZbin (the Drumbrute Impact was another prime example). There is nothing bad about that, of course, because the videos - especially yours - are really interesting and helpful to watch and the internet is full of ads anyways.
@TROGULAR100006 жыл бұрын
It's not so bad when you think that the products elevate rather than dumb down the mind and how gentle the push to buy is, especially in videos like this, where the publicity can easily be looked at as a secondary inevitable effect, even if there are spurts of activity surrounding releases. You can think of it as Arturia understandably choosing the right medium to communicate to users without great trickery.
@loopop6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words about the video - re Arturia - as I mention in the description - no payment was made for this (or being a free beta tester!). If I didn't think it was an interesting product I would just ignore it, but as long as I do think it's cool, might as well be there early when at the time when it's ok to talk about it...
@Zaubrer4886 жыл бұрын
@@loopop Jup, I completely understand that. It was not meant as a critique, but rather as a fascinated statement. Arturia makes beautiful products which deserve all their praise and on top of that their marketing is on point as well. It is a win:win situation, you get to make a video about something interesting and Arturia gets a their spotlight as well. As some other comment put it much better: "Arturia knows how to hit your inbox". They always manage to create that sparkling "oohhh, something new from Arturia" feeling in me. Justified so, because this synth looks (and sounds) so good. Also, I just read over at Synthtopia that it is kind of an extended demo period in which all users have access to the full synth for a month, which is fantastic!

Arturia did an amazing job with the UI among other things. At first glance it seems complex, but it is really very intuitive for the most part. My only complaint is that it gets a bit cramped on a laptop display. A more "compact" mode would be helpful in those cases where the display is small.

I own Pigments for some time now and I'm still shaking and scratching my head: how on earth can they do that? All these fantastic, amazing, incredible sound creation opportunities in just one piece of software at THIS price?!? @MmostlyRandom6 жыл бұрын
turing works using a shift register (you can lock and loop the values) can't do that with S+H. so once you hear it randomly make something you like you lock it and it will repeat that pattern in a loop you can also vary the probablility that the TM will insert a new value (note) so your locked loop could evolve over time (this knowledge is based from hardware turing machines but no doubt Arturia have used the same methods in this softsynth)

@@gossamyr here's a video I did using a turing machine in my modular synth. (ever part of this melody happened randomly..... based on certain constraints set in the turing machine... how many steps to loop... what range to output etc, mostly in this I only tweak the probability knob) the turing machine is the little black module in bottom left of shot (with 2 yellow cables coming out of it) the output is then sent to a quantizer to keep it all within a set scale. (in this case minor pentatonic) obviously the TM is modulating pitch in this video but you could send that signal anywhere. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKnXeqefi7CHf5Y

I believe that the CPU works hard ? Would there not be a place for a specific hardware processor for such a instrument as this ? Something to replace the PC /mac .That is built specifically for instruments like this .Waves makes the digigrid .It is only for waves plugins though ! Hardware built for specific software ?

Any chance of them making a digital analog synth running on the Pigments engine?

I was hoping Arturia would launch their answer to MoogOne in full hardware. So you can guess how I feel about Pigments

I'm guessing if Arturia launches a hardware polysynth it will be more of an answer to numbers like the Minilogue or Deepmind than to some kind of surreal beast like the Moog One.

Ooooh. A polyphonic MB 2S with a bigger patch bay or at least a mult. Please, please, please, please, please.

Or just a polyphonic MatrixBrute, on board analogue effects , delay variants phaser , flanger, , complex programmable reverbs separating initial and delayed reflections all on board. Several send and returns sockets

@@anoopsahal1202 I can't afford a paraphonic Matrixbrute. I shudder to think of the price tag on a poly, though it would be glorious.

Only 69,-€ in my Arturia account. A no brainer... :-)
