Good morning Myke and Tonya. Oh my goodness those puppies are beautiful little fluff balls. Are you able to rent the goats out to functions for a petting Zoo ? Those goats were determined to knock over the tripod... Glad that your camera survived. LOL Blue Cactus dairy goats (another KZbin channel) sells registered goats show goats and top milk line goats. And if I remember correctly they sold some kids last year for $5,000 that came from good milking lines. Thanks for sharing this information with us Myke and Tonya. Stay Happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you, your family and your adventures.

I did some research about 2 weeks ago and came up with weekly rental rates for 3-5 goats at a time to clear 1 acre. It came up to 200 per week plus 100 set up fee and it was a 3 week guarantee, plus any additional fees for extra fence and such. I was wanting to do something larger lime 30 to 60 goats for a day or two at a time. Not sure im gonna research some more and ask some of the people in our area that are doing it. Maybe make a video out of just thta down the road

We have 5 acres in Oklahoma, 3 acres of which is being used already. Thinking about raising goats for profit. We have three pygmies right now and looking into other breeds, but we are wondering if 2 acres is enough for a profitable goat farm?
@FowlerFamilyFarm
@FowlerFamilyFarm 2 жыл бұрын
it could be a profit but it will limit how large the operation could be.
@andrewjordan4480
@andrewjordan4480 Жыл бұрын
short answer is no. if you put 6 goats per acre x 2 acres = 12 goats...all does, that all had twins = 24 babies to sell. 24 x 350$ = $8,400. there is not enough in it to think of it as a money maker until you hit around 50 goats or you find a niche market be it the 4h/ffa/show/dairy etc. avenue. It all depends how great you are at marketing and how great you can get your farm name out there. pygmies x nigerian dwarves will sell around 150$ a piece around here so you are 24 x $150 = $3,600 and then if you were to take out hay, feed, mineral, time spent you are not going to make a profit.

How much money do you get per pound of goat meat? Either in live weight or weight of processed cuts. The prices seem to be all over the place from 5 dollars a pound to 16 dollars a pound for processed cuts. If raising goats without pasture grass then you couldn’t make any money off the meat if it sells for any less than 13 dollars a pound. But if selling milk in theory I could?
@FowlerFamilyFarm
@FowlerFamilyFarm 2 жыл бұрын
My price is usually 3-5 dollars per pound before processing, and they are about 4-6 months old and I have no money in them, so I haven’t fed grain to them. You will usually get your best price at about 35-55 pounds
