After losing my job which I was living check to check a month ago, I put a gofundme on Twitter and was contacted by someone who I trusted in due to being vulnerable and in need to pay my rent... this person completely scammed me and put me so far in the hole that I now am being evicted from my apartment I have been in for the last 7 years and now with no where to go am facing being homeless. I am in such a bad place and even though your vids don't solve my issue.. they do help me from the thoughts that go through my head about the dreaded ,S word. Thank you pal. I'm sorry that this message may be depressing but wanted to express my gratitude 🙏

Thank you for sharing with us! Things will get better. Try to keep in mind that quote from Tom Hanks there that "This too shall pass"... Everything we go for in life is for a reason and right now you're being tested in a certain way but you know what, you have an opportunity to grow right now and only go upwards! So the way I see it you have a unique opportunity that lies ahead where you can reinvent yourself into whatever you want to be and I know you will do it!

Very Interesting content this week. I have actually been on this path for a while now myself. I loved your first point on reframing/perspectives. I used to get caught up a lot in thinking that events out in the world had complete control over my emotional state and mental life and then I realized that it is all about how I choose to frame or perceive those events. Our emotional states depend very little on what goes on around us. Nobody and nothing causes you to feel any particular way, rather you cause yourself to feel a particular way by construing situations the way you do. It's all about our choices. Happiness is a choice, too, and I have been trying to choose it more often than not. Of course this might be a bit of an oversimplification, but all of this, like anything else in life, comes down to practice. Look at how well many of us have trained ourselves to live in ways that are destructive - we can also train ourselves to live in ways that bring happiness to ourselves and those around us. A book series that I think will interest you is Conversations with God, especially the first book as it covers a lot of ground with regard to personal truths. By the way, it's not about religion really, but rather spirituality. Also, just a side comment - living in a foreign country is a great way to challenge yourself, learn about the world and transcend yourself. I have lived abroad since 2014 and it has completely transformed my view of myself and the world. As you alluded to, everything is a challenge - communication, adjusting to a different set of social norms, different food etc. Though, as you pointed out, there are many ways to challenge ourselves that can contribute to our personal evolution as human beings, not only uprooting your life and moving to a different country. For me, life has been about being uncomfortable. By pushing my limits and living life outside the boundaries of my comfort zone growth is possible. If I am not growing, I am not living, but merely existing. What a shame it would be to die without knowing what it's like to truly live.
