1 - depth 2 - texture 3 - details 4 - path 5 - exterior 1 - add pillars, beams, glass panes instead of regular glass, various layers of roof overhangs (preferably with a material that stands out from the rest of the roof, mind jagged edges), put upside down steps above windows, place doors from the inside of the house for extra depth and add a step on top, put steps outside beams for more depth. 2 - mix up blocks in walls, you can keep the color scheme the same but change the blocks up to please the eye, also, for roofing, sometimes just varying shapes instead of a single wall of steps is better 3 - shutters on windows (you can use trapdoors or fences and slabs), use upside down steps beneath windows, (make sure you get roof separation), use buttons symmetrically (make sure to keep these in theme, so what you do to one window should usually be done to all others). You can also add lanterns, fencing as support beams, and greenery, meaning leaves to switch things up 4 - Get a path leading to your house, make it winding, don't do it straight, and mix up blocks, you don't have to fill it all up, you can use different materials, such as dirt mixed with gravel, right clicking dirt to get that different color, using trapdoors. Once you got that you can fence it up, which should be used sparingly, so don't just fence it all up intuitively, mix it up, don't fill it all up, also, light it up, put some lanterns up or some sort of lighting, and add some bushes that look natural and make the transition from nature to your house seamless. 5 - For the exterior you might wanna add some sort of garden, you can add a pond, if you want to do that then you can do so by mixing levels, don't just keep it all on ground level, make it drop from high to low, add different block heights and make it seamless as well, if you do add a pond, you can make it look more natural with sugar cane plants, lily pads, seagrass and seapickles among other things you can add from your own creativity. Also, other than ponds, you could add a small farm, you can do this blend beautifully into the environment by using a block of water covered with a trapdoor and then adding fences and a lantern on top to make it look like a big lamp thingy and you add a garden on the side, you don't have to limit it to just one, you can do a few small ones too, don't forget to keep it seamless and looking natural, don't just do a 4 by 4 block formation, mix it up. to finish the exterior up you could add some flowers, and a big main lamp post, you already got many mini ones, might as well make a big one to signal your house.

This is so underrated, finally a tutorial which actually explains you the basics and art to building, you started off with a friendly approach by taking a building anyone can make, and went through step by step how to completely transform it, that enough grabs in the people who have been demotivated from trying to become better builders, yes you showed in this video just a square you didn't exactly give it any shape, though its not always shape that makes a build look good, in fact a lot of starters myself included watched any tutorials over "shape" and how it makes your build look better, only to make a shape that is too confusing to build and decorate, I really speak for everyone here, and thank you for this.
@trevor86333 жыл бұрын
From all the building videos i've seen, this is probably the best. It explains in a simple way without overflowing the viewer with lots of information and ending the video without explaining anything at all, thank you for making this, i really needed some of the things that were explained here.

Hey Avo o/ Rather than using full blocks in your roof to create that texture, I might suggest placing two stair blocks perpendicular to the direction of the roof, so they are back to back. This will create the full block look (albeit at a half block position) whilst remaining spawn proof. Nothing worse than coming out your front door to have a creeper drop on your head because you left spawn-able spaces on the roof. Cheers!

Really nice house but only 3 things that could be better: Make a more interesting roof (maybe add something like stone stairs, andesite stairs, or making a different roof shape/design. 2: in my opinion there are too ammany lanterns, but that's just me lol. 3: Lastly I think it would be better if it was a different shape rather than just a square. Also for different portions of the build maybe have different roofs too.

A mistake I've seen is people over texture and think it looks good While yes sometimes over texturing something could look good but it depends on context If the building is old or rustic give it more texturing If its supposed to be a new building like a young one tnen give it slightly less texturing The reason why is because older looking buildings have more damage so if u add more textures then it ma,es sense it is w damaged building But a new house won't have much damage so only give it a small bit of texturing The same principle applies to paths castles and alot more Also remeber if u have a more rustic/old building add stairs into the wall to make it look like its missing pieces U could also add signs onto said signs to make it look like u are patching some holes
