I modified my honey's cpap for RV use. The cpap is a system 1, the internal board has a compliance of 9.6 to 15v. Made a 12v pickle plug adaptor using the conneector off a dead laptop charger and a spare pickle plug. Eliminated the need for the 110v to 12v adaptor and inverter. This allowed us to boondock for about 2 months using a solar panel and the deep cycle ship battery. Built her a battery backup from an e bike battery pack as well.

Great video and very informative. Jerry, I GOT A QUESTION ABOUT THE LITHIUM BATTERY you use. I use a deep cycle marine battery when I boondock several days ( turn the humidifier off) and I've had no problems yet. It's just a marine battery from Walmart ($99) but I'm interested in a lithium battery . I guess my question is can I still use my 410 W Schumacker inverter with a lithium battery or should I buy a bigger 750 w inverter? I'm camping for 2 weeks in the woods next time. Thank You

@@jerrydixon I have a Resmed air sense 10 and a 410W Converter and I hook the alligator clips to the deep cycle marine battery. Am I doing it wrong? I don't want to do anything dangerous. The price of Lithium batteries is up there $399 and up. I'm ignorant when it comes to Electricity, but I just want to make sure I get the right battery and inverter.

Jerry, did you mention how large and the type of auxillary battery and your house batteries? Do you have a refridgerator load as well?

Sir ... Thank U for CPAP Tips ...Can I direct connect my CPAP in to Car cigarette holder or I need Inverter also to give power to my CPAP Few nights for experiment purpose ... (I want to start my Van Life in Future) ... Than I will buy Extra Lithium Battery for overnight run my CPAP when I will start my Propose Van Life.

My ResMed Air Sense 10 CPAP machine runs on 24 volts DC. My ResMed DC to DC converter uses 12 volt DC battery power and converts it to 24 volts DC. When you plug the converter into the cigarette lighter, your car battery supplies 24 volts DC to your CPAP machine. If you use the converter and CPAP machine for too many nights , it may deplete your car battery so that it won't start your car engine. With your CPAP's humidifier and heated hose features shut off, you should get at least two to three nights CPAP use without depleting your car battery if car battery is in good condition and fully charged.
