Lol! You started with bantu knots but didn't include them in your 5 ways. They are an excellent way to stretch too :) I've recently fallen in love with threading. I coat the thread with oil to keep it from sucking up moisture and I use satin cording because it is more smoothing. Great video!
@LoveYourTresses7 жыл бұрын
I did didn’t I!!! I do like them but they aren’t one of my faves. Coating is an excellent idea, I’ll definitely give that a try the next time I do that method :) Thank you for sharing x

Great video Fiona! The roller set seemed to give the most stretch and could be used to achieve a blow out look if you wanted to. I usually use the banding method to stretch my wash and goes since it preserves the curl pattern. Will try the roller set though because it came out great with your hair:)

I prefer roller set for maximum stretched out look but the curlformers gave great results as well. Lately I've been doing the opposite since my hair is now back to an awkward length stage so I actually keep it braided and then braid the braids onto themselves and it gives me a crinkled waterfall effect. I think once my hair reaches another desired length I'll go back to more stretched styles like this!
@TheDreamer2794 жыл бұрын
I’m so happy I found your page! We are texture twins. And I’m recently going through a bout of shedding unfortunately. I have also notices my texture has become a lot softer, which may be due to some heat damage, I’m not sure. Hope to make it out of these set back soon

I usually do a twist out or braid out but after watching this, I will definitely be giving curl formers a try! I tried African threading but it took so long for me to do even though I got great stretch. Loved this video, I enjoyed seeing the different methods!
@gensai937 жыл бұрын
Kay Jay I had a similar experience with the threading, it always took me a long time. I would recommend either Curlformers or flexi rods, you get a result similar to regular rollers, but I feel like those are much easier to do. Rollers are cheaper to get, though.
@kayjay87907 жыл бұрын
gensai93 Thanks! Yeah, I will be def getting curl formers in the future! They look like they would be easier to sleep in than flexirods. Love what my flexirods do but I cannot sleep in them for over night curls 😂

Great video. For me I use the curlformers, but I hate sleeping in them so I don’t use them very often. I will try the one you did with the band at the root and the jumbo purple rollers. That’s the only one I haven’t tried. Thank you for the idea. Even though you didn’t show this idea. My go to is 2-strand twists and then rolling with orange perm rods at a vertical angle, with this style I can (at first) either take out the rollers and pin curl the twists (which is what I do for my first style), next (for second style) just take out the bobby pins and let the twists fall, and the last (but not least) I undo all the twists. At night (for the last style) I moisturize with Soultanicals Frizz Whizz & Bask & Bloom Nourishing Amazon Hair & Body Butter in big twists (which stretches my hair even more) then take it back out the next day. This will last me at least a week even though I conditioner cleans twice a week. This is my most favorite way I do my hair.
