I watched a tutorial from a guy who explained how to make home portraits with lighting for cheap and let's just say his pictures actually looked CHEAP! stopped watching tutorials after that, but this video just inspired me again!! Love this! One of my favorite lightings is Paramount (Butterfly), then you can add the reflector underneath for the Clamshell. This is one of the best and most direct and useful tutorials I have watched. Thank you. Definitely subscribing.

Great video Tommy. Great to see someone using the persons name in a video instead of the seemingly common my model or the model. Sam is gorgeous, great portraits.

Very subtle! At 6.58, the model's left arm is up and functions also a little bit as a reflector, shedding just a hint of light on her face. Nicely done!

Excellent job! Might mention that the closer the modifier is to the subject, the softer the light and the farther away, the more contrasty and harsher the light will appear. IMO, most photographers use their modifiers (softbox, beauty disk, Octabox, etc.) too far from their subject which negates the value of the modifier in making the light soft. I was originally taught that the distance between the subject and the modifier should not exceed the diameter of a round modifier or the diagonal of a square or oblong modifier. Just a rule of thumb - there are usually no modifier police in most studios (LOL).
