Acid reflux is a condition where gastric acid is regurgitating into the food pipe (esophagus), causing pain, inflammation, heartburn, a lump sensation and difficulty swallowing. GERD and heartburn (and many other digestive issues) is often caused by not enough acidity in the stomach to trigger the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) to close. Not by having too much acid. Often times, the primary driver is bad bacteria in the stomach that give off alkalizing waste. Then the stomach can't keep up and the LES won't close right. This is made worse by acid blockers and Tums. Your body needs acid to extract nutrients and minerals to make acid in the first place. After low acid effect takes place, then bile starts to not flow right because it's not needed as much. Bile is needed to neutralize the acid before the food/acid mixture hits the lower intestine to get proper nutrient extraction and assimilation. I was able to eliminate my symptoms with d-limonene to help get the bad bacteria under control. Then supplement with betaine hydrochloride during meals to reacidify the stomach. Then beet flow beet leaf extract (not beet root) to make sure bile is flowing to neutralize the acid before it hits the small intestine. It's important not to supplement with betaine hcl unless you are also taking something to assist bile flow. I used beet flow beet leaf extract from empirical labs. Bile salts can be a substitute to beet leaf extract, to supplement bile flow, but NOT with your meal. Ox bile shouldn't be taken with food, It'll just neutralize the acid in the stomach where it's not supposed to. Take bile salts (ox bile) in between meals if you cannot get beet flow. I eat whatever I want now and I have zero reflux. The bacteria cannot take over when there is a properly acidic environment. The lower esophageal sphincter will close tightly when it gets the signal via properly acidic stomach. I went from not being able to eat hardly anything I like, "trigger foods" to eating whatever I want again. At night 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoons) of organic apple cider vinegar, diluted in water, can also be used to help close the LES. Once you get your symptoms under control, you can then turn your nutrition back on, and get your natural acid production up. This will never happen until you get the bacteria under control and get proper mineral and nutrient extraction. I hope this can help someone. With acid up, you can eat what you want and not be in pain. Shout out to Kick It Naturally on KZbin for teaching me all this.

if my acid is low, then how is it I feel better with an antacid? I'm confused...
@CoryHobbs2178
@CoryHobbs2178 4 ай бұрын
@@tinafaye2985 all the antacid is doing is neutralizing the acid in your stomach resulting in less felt pain. The only reason you feel pain is because your LES isn't closing right. If you had too much acid your LES would be closed up nice and tight and you wouldn't have it flowing back up. The most likely cause (assuming you don't have a hiatal hernia) is either your stomach acid getting neutralized by bad bacteria. OR what happened to me, bacteria in your stomach was feeding on the resistant starch in certain foods which in turn created hydrogen gas. This gas pressure in your stomach is enough to push acid out of your LES even if it's closed tightly like it should be. If you feel burn in your upper chest or throat that indicates your LES isn't closing tight. If the burn is only localized right at your sternum, and your stomach feels like excess pressure after you eat starchy food and carbs, then you likely have starch eating bacteria in your stomach where they aren't supposed to be. Ultimately I had to change to a carnivore diet with no carbs, sugar, and starch to get rid of my heartburn for good. I'm gonna starve them out for a few months and go from there, along with some natural antimicrobials. But with carnivore diet, heartburn was gone on day one. I've lost 30 pounds and feel amazing! I feel like I'm 20 years old again

@@CoryHobbs2178 What about GERD/Acid Reflux? Can you tell me a little bit about your experiences and some of the foods that you have avoided during that time? You see I was H.Pylori positive and because of that I had heartburn or GERD now so I want to fix this,right now I feel a burning sensation on my chest and I feel like there's something stuck in my throat,it's very mild but I want to be free from this as fast as possible,they did give me some antacid and other medications but I also want to learn about the foods that I should eat and the foods that I should avoid completely during this time period.
@CoryHobbs2178
@CoryHobbs2178 3 ай бұрын
@@ZenTheLoneWolf hello Zen, I certainly hope you can find relief like I did. My knowledge has evolved since I made that previous comment. If you want to starve out the bad bacteria then you must cease eating all carbs, sugar, and fiber. That is what they feed on. I went to a strict carnivore diet and my heartburn stopped on day one. Now I will say that using betaine hydrochloride to increase the acid in your stomach that is low because the pylori neutralizes it, and using herbal antimicrobials such as oregano oil and grape seed fruit extract, along with d-limonene, You can make a significant impact on the overgrowth. But nothing you will do will work so long as you are eating food that supercharges the bacteria which is carbohydrates, which includes all forms of sugar and pseudo sugar and honey, and all forms of fiber. If you can cut those out long enough, and use antimicrobials to supplement, and use the betaine HCL to make sure there is enough acid in your stomach, you should be able to heal naturally.

I've noticed that with me to... although I have now implemented Dr Ekbergs tips on how to get rid of acid reflux and i haven't had it since 4 weeks... which is great... i have thrown my prescription antacid tablets away that my GP prescribed me. I have been bing watch Dr Ekbergs channel since the 2nd week in January..because all diets over the years just lead to the jojo affect and more weight each time.. I was my max weight ever at the end of last year.. since watching his video's, adjusting when and how I eat as I learn more from his videos etc I have lost my first 7kg in the last 4 weeks...a long way to go.. but I am giving myself 2yrs..I rather loose slowly so skin shrinkage can keep up, and so it becomes my normal new lifestyle. Most important, i am focusing on solving all other health issues eg acid reflux, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, insomnia and depression...which are probably due to my weight gain. All these were brought on by burnout due to work and private life issues over the last 2 decades. Good luck on your journey🤞

I was suffering from acid reflux since late teens. I am always in a high carb diet, sugary foods on the side as well. Heavy on instant coffee (coffee, sugar, creamer on a packet) too. On Late 20's to early 30's i was suffering from constant ulceration whenever i drink like 4 to 6 of that instant coffee. I decided to switch to keto/carnivore diet, ditch out carbs and sugar, it was gone in an instant. I drink 6 to 8 cups of black coffee no more problem. Sugar is the culprit.

I have recommended your channel to all my family and friends! The information you give is brilliant, and there's no sales pitch or waffle before getting to the point. I had been prescribed a PPI medication for reflux that I had been on for WAY too long, and found out just recently that coming off these meds will CREATE reflux also. I'd tried a number of times to stop the meds only to be hit with reflux worse than I'd remembered having it before. It's taken me about 4 months to completely lose the symptoms after stopping the PPI meds and I feel ACV has been a huge part of really getting rid of them. It's baby steps, but I'm so thrilled to have had no reflux for over a week now! First time in years for this! I will certainly be paying greater attention to the other points you mention too!

I didn’t even finish the video yet and just few minutes in, I know this doctor knows his stuff! I suffering with severe GERD for some years now and have done my own research also I’m a very deep, critical thinker. I think outside the box about everything. This doctor has hit everything right on the nail. Most doctors don’t know how to properly treat GERD, acid reflux, or other digestive issues even some gastroenterologist doctors. I wish he could be my doctor to give me better guidance. It’s like I know what I need to do but when you’ve suffered with this, you develop anxiety and become afraid to try most things because you worry about making things worse. Thank you doctor for giving me a bit of encouragement to at least try this route, which I’ve heard about before. ❤

And how is your doctors gave that without making acidity tests to know your case . Side effects No just cancers or autoimmune or fatal infections but just it already destroy your lining to depend on it because it's addictive! It as well affect your mental sharpening and bones ! So if you are not afraid 😳 , Keep doing what you do . The problem on your lining, Wake up and mix Collagen powder without vitamin c with Zinc l carnosine on empty stomach and drink liquorice!! Gradually got out alive from these medications , Build up your lining again ( Liquorice/ Collagen/ Zinc L carnosine/ Mastic gum / L glutamate) before meals and forgot about GERD for ever and step by step after meals mix lemon with water or vinegar with water ! Wish you luck with your journey.

Those antacids will screw you up.I took them every night for about a year, and here I am 5 years later, after taking every supplement I could find to stop it, and it still comes around every now and then, mostly when I am very stressed out. The apple cider vinegar works for me, 1Tblsp after dinner, I usually have 1 cup of probiotic Kefir drink that I get at Walmarts dairy section every night before I go to bed, I do the kefir, and when that doesn't work, I do the ACV. This was all trial, and error for me, so, it may not work for you, everybodies body is different, but this works for me.Good luck.Stop those antacids, they do nothing but prolong the oroblem for years.If I didn't decide to look up everything I could about excessive burping, and gerd, I'd be up every night like I was for about a month. When I couldn't sleep, I researched this, and if I didn't, Id be getting maybe 2 hours of sleep every night like I did in the begining.

I even went to see a ENT Doctor and she prescribed me Omeprazole but I didn't like the idea of taking a pill everyday so I just dealt with the cough. But like you said, I had it all backwards in regards to pH. At the beginning of 2023 I started Intermittent/prolonged fasting and keto and about 4 weeks in my cough is virtually gone and no longer have any acid reflux. I also take 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider vinegar daily. I can't tell you how grateful I am to learn of this. It feels so darn good to not cough all the time.

For instance, I had it really bad years ago and ff course the doctor put me on Rx proton-pump inhibitor. Said I'd prob have to be on it "for the rest of my life." Now, this was long before I'd heard of IF and being fairly young at the time, often at late at night, lots of processed food, caffeine at all hours, etc. etc. Anyway, I decided to stop eating after 9pm and it practically cured my reflux. Stopped taking that medication, too.
