Thanks! You (and similar youtubers) helped me a lot. Lost over 15kg so far this year with OMAD and low carb and I'm feeling really healthy and fit and also don't feel the pressure to constantly eat something every few hours. There are so many exciting and often simple dishes to cook and eat with all the healthy ingredients available.

I grew up on a Dairy Farm and ate unpasteurized non -Homogenized milk and full fat type 2 cow products for my first 20 years... as did everyone in our farming community during the 50s... NO ONE died of infection.. no one had allergies....Eggs from pastured chickens and pigs..lard...bacon... on and on... My Grandmothers lived to be 96 eating this way... Es importante evitar productos lácteos cargados de azúcar o endulzantes artificiales.* Made with HARPA AI

Love your videos Dr.Ekberg! Thank you!! I am living in the wonderful mountains in the south of Brazil. I came from Michigan a year ago. Most of the subjects you are showing are still a common place here. Our cows only eat grass, we have many olive oil farms, hens run freely all day long and they only go the henhouse at night due to the predators in the area. The region of Minas Gerais has a mild weather all year round and one of the most famous products they have here are dairy products. The soil is super rich and we fertilize it with the organic cows manure. The water is fresh clean mineral water and is plentiful all over the place. Our farm has 7 springs. Coming from Michigan this is a big a change. 🙏🙌

Eggs. Born on a small farm our bantams who roamed freely, scratched around the farm & garden for insects, etc, etc. Their diet was supplemented by a few hen pellets. Try food combining. Fruit for breakfast minus banana (starch). Proteins (25% protein chick peas, mung, lentils, black eyed peas, full protein eggs, goat cheese etc) in day with double or triple or more fibrous green veg (potato is not veg but starch) - have salads, and have a starch for fun (since carbs in beans 70+%) in afternoon evening with again lots of veg fiber. A good start at least would be to stop buying processed foods. Start buying real, whole food (fresh, dried or frozen) like whole vegetables and whole fruit that you need to wash and prepare. Similarly, buy whole or visibly identifiable pieces of animals/sealife/birds Eg, eggs, chicken portions, fish fillets with the skin on etc. Avoid foods that aren't whole plants or animals/portions of animals. Avoid all additives, whether they're "natural" or not. Make your own condiments etc from scratch. Avoid foods that you're sensitive/allergic to..Avoid canned food. Avoid eating out or getting takeout food. There's waasy more but just as a starter if you can get into the habit of eating what humans are designed to eat would be a good start although eating food types that your ancestors ate if possible and eating seasonally helps..

Where I live, I can get raw milk (for people) at Sprouts produced at a regenerative dairy farm near where I live. I've been drinking it for a couple of years now. It's really delicious though I only have a small glass with dinner and however much I need on my keto-type cereal, which is really just nuts, seeds, and coconut. It usually tastes fine even after the use-by date. I also get raw cheese (grass-fed), and sometimes I even make my own yogurt, which is pretty fantastic. I don't think dairy is bad for most people, and at times it really hits the spot.

I'm a 66yr old Englishman who for decades, has been overweight despite listening to Govt & medical advice regarding diet. Most of this time was pre-cellphone or internet of course, so we had to take the knowledge of the time as being factual. Since around 2016, after moving to the US & living here for a number of years (and getting heavier!) I began looking into diets again, after many types I'd tried back home. I began with Nutri-slim which was both costly and not especially successful and this prompted research online and finally to this site. Following & learning these principles has been nothing short of miraculous. I still have weight to lose after being Keto & IF but just lately on OMD, I'm trying carnivore and it appears to have kick started weight loss again, at no loss of energy or any hunger pangs. I'm due to return to the UK before year-end and will have much less choice of foods which are 'normal fare' in the UK but I can recognise that 'more' doesn't mean 'better'! I've learned so much from Dr Sten Ekberg's videos and grateful for his knowledge, although I'll never get to his level of fitness, I feel!

6:09 - pressure cooking is not only interesting in its physics but in its properties. At 1 bar (atmospheric pressure), water can reach 220 F. It also has 50% of the solvent power of alcohol, which is why it penetrates foods so deeply. It disables lectins, and it makes meat very tender. How does nutrition vary based on how a chicken is treated?

@@2Truth4Liberty Free range, organic hens eat bugs etc. Their health is better because they are not fed antibiotics and rubbish food, and they experience sunshine and fresh air as well. Consequently their eggs have a higher level of nutrients and no chemicals. It's not new knowledge that women who want to have children are told to get their own bodies healthy first, because it increases their chances of having healthy babies. Why would we think it would be different for animals?
@2Truth4Liberty
@2Truth4Liberty 2 жыл бұрын
@@judylloyd7901 I am not talking about health of a chicken so much as human nutrition, that is, nutrients in the meat of the chicken that a human body will begin to process when eaten. The human body has no idea that the meat/(blog of material) came from a chicken let alone whether or not it was healthier chicken than other chickens. So, back to my question.... The human body begins extracting protein/nutrients from the meat of a healthier chicken and a less healthy chicken ... exactly WHAT DIFFERENCE is there is the protein/nutrients that will be extracted from one versus the other? You say "higher level of nutrients and no chemicals". Can you be more specific about the difference in "level" and more specific about what "chemicals" you mean? Thanks.

@@2Truth4Liberty For instance, organic chicken can contain a higher amount of Omega-3 than conventional chicken due to their diet. If you want to know the exact amounts, you would have to look at studies specifically geared towards measuring that. Also, if chicken was raised in poor conditions, the probability of getting sick (e.g. salmonella) increases. Sure, our bodies can take nutrients from even junk food, but it's the source quality that dictates the quantity of nutrients.
@2Truth4Liberty
@2Truth4Liberty 2 жыл бұрын
@@monicaquerrien6478 I agree it would have to be studied to have evidence of difference in the nutitional content based on how chickens are raised. The point I'm making it that a claim is made without any evidence. THat organic chicken CAN contain a higher amount of Omega-3 doesn't mean it actually does nor does it address with the absorbtion of said Omega-3 by a human would be different. This is effectively like the claims made about grass-fed beef, yet there is no evidence of a quantifiable difference when it comes to human nutrition. Yes, there is an INTUITIVE idea that better care (or grass-fed) would be better in sofar as a human body absorbing more nutrients from the product, but, in the end, that can mean a person spending LOTS MORE MONEY on something which may not really even make a noticeable difference to their health (thus, wasting money that could have spent in much better ways).

I had no problem in my younger days, then became lactose intolerant, gluten sensitive and now so many commercially processed food would cause bloating. I can eat fruit, vegetables, sushi, rare steak without any problem, but just a cookie or a donut would cause a lot digestive uneasiness, bloating. Hi Lona, good question. These days, the number of subscribers is not as important an indicator of how successful a channel is. In fact there are other metrics we need to consider like how many hours of Dr. Sven's videos people watch. That is more relevant. Suffice it to say, that the content Dr. Sven produces may be relevant to a specific community of people only and he's reaching out to exactly those that would watch him on a regular basis and keep coming back for more. That is in fact a great indicator of success. Hope that helps. 😀

I make my own homemade mayo with MCT oil. To make it from a solid fat like coconut oil it goes through processing called fractionation. Some companies use hexane to process MCT oil just like they do for other commercially sold oil. So, you have to be sure to get hexane free MCT. You don't want to consume hexane! It is a petroleum by-product that is allowed in the production of commercial oils😮 You also really cannot eat a lot at one time because for most people it will cause GI issues like loose stool. 😮 But if you just have a tablespoon that you're adding to something you're making, you can get the benefits of MCT oil and the taste of mayo! I have a great recipe that uses an immersion blender which makes it incredibly easy and fast to make. Most recipes for homemade mayo use a blender and they take forever and it's quite difficult to make the consistency come out right. So, find a recipe using an immersion blender you will be shocked how fast it is to make. I'm saying once you put the immersion blender in the mix of ingredients all you do is turn it on a high setting and slowly pull it up from the bottom to the top of a narrow cylindrical container and it will be mayo! Voila!There's almost no skill involved. 😊 Remember to use organic eggs!

So steel cut oats r good because it takes longer to digest than rolled oats. Beans and peanuts are bad because they take longer to digest... Doesn't digesting faster or slower still end up with the food going into your system at the same rate in the end, since your stomache is not going to digest your food morsel by morsel? 🤔

Thank you for taking so much time to explain things in a way that make it accessible and understandable without scaring the pants off me. I do have a comment about the fish you mentioned in this episode. I used to work at the Fulton Fish Market in NYC. It's my understanding that saying 'all farmed fish are bad' is inaccurate in that it really depends on the farm. Just like there are less healthy types of chicken and meat, depending on how the animals are raised and fed, there are fish farms that have very high standards about how they raise and harvest their fish. It's really about buying your fish from a reputable fishmonger who only deals with ethical farms, not the type you mention in this video. Of course, this fish is always more expensive than those you'll get in a supermarket, but at least you'll know where they come from and how they are treated.

It's so easy to make your own peanut butter. I just made some today. Took about 10 minutes. I literally just put peanuts in the blender and blended them until it was smooth. Added a tiny pinch of salt and put it in a jar in the fridge. There's no reason anyone should ever eat store bought peanut butter. It takes longer to go to the store than to make your own.

as you said we tried to make mayo from olive oil and we ended up throwing it in the garbage can, then we tried it with organic eggs and avocado oil and wow, it taste so good, and is healthy, because we use organic garlic, and organic limes from our lime tree at home.

Your information on walnuts was especially helpful. If I eat a walnut or anything containing walnuts I will have a debilitating Migraine within a few hours. The only other natural food that does the same thing is strawberries. Obviously I gave up walnuts and strawberries years ago.

True, it’s processed from fermented sugar cane which releases glutamic acid then sodium is added to stabilize it. It’s a dangerous neurotoxin that kills brain cells. Has over 40 names so they can hide it in processed food it’s even in dairy as carrageenan and gums. I started avoiding it years ago, but really only found relief after going carnivore.

This is really fascinating. I pretty much have been eating the stuff he says are bad for me for a couple years now. When I started I was bald as a q-ball but now I have scalp full of thick, luxuriant hair that requires weekly barber management. I also have another 3-4 inches of tally whacker length that is driving the chicks absolutely crazy - so I'm not sure if I'll take Sten's advice here.

Thanks Dr.Ekberg! Your Channel is definitely the best (by far!!) on nutrition. I love the way you explain how the body really works. It helps making the right decisions. I have a question! My little daughter was born 5 months ago 🥰 and we start feeding her with a teaspoon of various veggies everyday. We start wondering about fruit…For such a little liver! What would you recommend? Thank you. Greetings from France (as a lover of sport, I am proud of our new Decathlon world champion Kevin Mayer who won his gold medal in Eugene!) 😉

@judylloyd7901 2 жыл бұрын
@@stephmanier1877 Your baby probably doesn't need fruit yet. You don't want her to develop a sweet tooth, especially so early in life. And fruit is not as good for us as we have been led to believe, especially the high sugar fruits that have been developed over the last few hundred years. You could lightly fry a strip of steak and give it to her to chew. Make sure it's big enough for her to hold. She will get all the goodness out of it without having to actually eat it. 😁😁👍👍

The yoghurt story is interesting. We visited sri lanka and the people there make their own yoghurt. They put milk in a pottery jar and leave it in the sun for 1 or 2 days. Everywhere you go you see those. Maybe adding a bacterial / yeast culture .. i don't know. You get a jar after your meal. It makes a perfect desert.

Superb presentation as always, the one bean too many was new to me 😂 and also have no cat but access to raw milk is no problem in Belgium, although the standard here is also pasteurized or UHT treated. It seems the term "fresh milk" is sometimes used in the Netherlands for pasteurized milk to distinguish versus UHT ("houdbare melk") and doesn't necessarily means raw milk. In Belgium we find raw milk at some farms directly from the tank or in cooled vending machines at farms, not in supermarkets.
