I just bought a Mackage 2 in 1 wool long coat that is trimmed in leather with a puffer insert that is fabulous. I live in Colorado and it gets cold here, so a warm full length coat is important.

abercrombie has a great relaxed straight jean called the Loose and i get it in two lengths. I can wear all day at work in my casual office. I am glad you mentioned Madewell i do like their straight leg and just bought a lovely light weight trouser style. Too bad they don’t have multiple inseams. Madewell not ideal for tall peeps.

For denim check out Marks & Spencer's jeans, my favourite is the Eva Bootcut (£25, available in different washes and lengths for heels and flats and for petite women like me). Instead of a dress, why not wear a velvet trouser suit - Mangos velvet blazers are perfection, not too long so they fit my petite frame like a dream, I bought them in black, midnight blue and khaki. You can wear the blazer with jeans, denim skirts and high suede boots for a mix & match look that will make you look current and cool

Please include the “why” you consider a coat beautiful…is it the cut, fit, assortment of colors, fabric, iconic, price…some items are just not beautiful to me and I think I must be missing something.

I'd never wear a puffa coat/jacket, they just don't look elegant and they mostly contain real animal feathers, so there's animal cruelty involved. I'd rather wear a faux fur jacket or coat, which has a luxurious feel (also for evening/party wear) and is ageless too
