That is true, now that I drive my own car for pleasure (Saab 900 NG cabriolet) I do enjoy the buttery smooth asphalt of my country. @BladedAngel2 жыл бұрын
I don't know how much of the Yugo would remain in order to fit it lol. 100% the Chassis would snap. By the time you start stretchign and reinforcing it, you'd probably have a "W16 Kit Car" instead of a Yugo, since it deviated too far to be a Yugo at that point (Modifying an OEM Platform AKA Trans/engine/chassis still counts as making that model fast, but once you start changing engines, trans, AND Chassis, it's a different/custom car at that point. Lots of Countries will legally require you to title it as a Kit Car too, since once the Frame is modified, it no longer passes it's original Crash Safety Test.) And once the VIN changes, it's a different car. So the Yugo W16 Dream may never happen. ..but a Yugo V12 Dream still can😂 If an Aventador V12 fits in a Miata, we can get one in the Yugo too!

another thing to add with swapping engines. if you buy a vehicle with an engine swap done already, it can be worth it to swap it again if you wanna revert to stock or the old engine is comically bad for what you got the car for. I have an 88' Ramcharger with an engine swap from a dodge dart 318 drag car project that fell through, it is bored out and gets horrible gas mileage so I am swapping it to a fuel injected 318 so it is more true to the stock config of that year.

Toxic Bladed is best Bladed!! Seriously, I haven’t laugh that hard for a while; the part of the Engine swap freaks was just straight up HILARIOUS 🤣 But seriously, I can’t believe there are people who would use this argument on a debate on which car is better! To me when you Engine swap, you are creating a different car, because it has a different engine that doesn’t belong to the brand, for example if you decided to swapped an EK9 Civic B16B engine with a 4G63T from an EVO, you are creating a new car; sure the bodywork is still from Honda, but the engine is from Mitsubishi, for me that’s a total different car, because the engine acts differently from what you expect from a Honda. What do I expect from a Honda: A fun high-revving car that you can thrash around corners, not some hardcore road going rally car. Sorry for my little rambling Bladed, but anyways, thanks for making my day!

@AxnerSaab2 жыл бұрын
the thing with swapping the engine on a car is, will that car be ABLE TO PUT DOWN THE POWER that it provides. You can't go fast if you don't have any traction. And as I know if you have too much power and drive fast, the chassis could actually bend And data guys can be damn annoying. Idc if my Saab is slow, I just like the styling. I want an old 900 Turbo with Turbo lag. I'm not looking to go 200mph, I'm looking for a fun car to drive in the city which is where old-school turbos come into play. It may have about 130HP or 180HP (Depending on years) but once the turbo kicks in it'll be hella fun. I'd rather buy a car to cruise than one that would feel like I could die in at any second.
@thatsyaboi81852 жыл бұрын
the only time I "condone" swapping is when its a classic car. when those parts finally die sometimes it's easier to find a modern engine rather than scour the earth for an original engine to replace it.

Yeah the engine swap is probably my favorite one to make fun of if it's to that extent, personally if you want your Volvo to sound like a V8 from the 60's, go all out on it. If it's for a reason that is just creating or doing something you yourself want to have in the car for yourself then that's in my opinion fine by all means. Bragging though? Nah that's the point where it's just petty and lame if it's just for personal fun and that then go ahead.
@l00k4tstuff2 жыл бұрын
Yea, the engine swap one - the claimants haven't even had the "pleasure" of matching everything, from adapter plates to custom drive shafts and mounting systems, and hammering the engine compartment to make room so it fits. And most of their swap BS is so big that they may as well just slap a saddle onto the engine/transmission because that's what the car body's gonna be once that swap is done! Of course, then they'd need the skills to keep the rubber on the wheels (instead of turning into magic smoke & shrapnel) when they tromped on the gas pedal. So divorced from reality I have to "whatever" them.
@doczooc Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the public transport and bike stuff. Needed to be said. Also, if you really like the feeling of going fast (as most car guys do), try riding a bike instead of a car through a congested city. You can actually get a sense of speed that way. It sometimes is just the better option.

I feel like the problem with public transport in the US is that its seen as 'poor' In Europe and the UK especially we just don't have that notion. This continent is practically built on the back of public transport, also because everything is so much closer for us. The UK alone has 2570 railway stations (yes i am a train nerd), and the rest of Europe is connected by a lot of high speed rail, buses and trams.

In my experience, as an American, if you don't live in a sizeable city, public transportation just doesn't exist. Shit we barely have sidewalks around here except for the city mainly. Our infrastructure is way behind and lacking. Most of the roads are designed to push people into cars because unless you're close to school or work, you have no choice. No bus will run to where you're going. We don't have a subway/train here so you have no choice.

7:09 I had this debate. Was about some guy trying to swap an Si engine with a Type-R engine like a discount type r, just get the full car lol. Swapping engines is fine, just don't be something you're not (like upbadging) or shit on stock.

Hey bladed, CGP grey made a great video about cities in Europe vs North America. Long story short, Europe’s cities have been around longer, and they’ve developed with walking distances in mind, from one town to another because there was few mode of transportation millennia ago; but cities in North America, began developing no more than 200ish years ago, and we’ve had vehicles for 1/2 that time. So they developed at the same rate as automobiles were being brought to the mass market (in terms of modern infrastructure). It was basically ‘get a car, or you’ll be jobless, homeless’ etc. North America was built around cars, Europe was built around walking. Not to talk about the billions that are lobbied to prevent public transportation. Sad reality but that’s how it is :/

the people that treat cars as the only transport is a interesting one. here in the UK, public transport is s**t. trains are late, buses are late, nothing runs on time. so if you want a dependable, easy transport, cars are the only way. however, if public transport wasn't so s**t, then people who see it's easier to commute by train then car would do it. so it is pretty dependant on how good said public transport is. and then there's bicycles and motorbikes, which people are too lazy to use

Who remembered that Renault Twingo with a literal jet engine swap? To be fair, if someone did try to argue that Twingo is the best car, I'd probably concede. BTW I'm fully aware that a good 99% of people reading this will be too young to remember the jet powered Twingo, and will frantically Google it now (I'm jealous of the feeling you're about to get), but while you're googling it - they also made a Renault Espace with an F2 engine in it which is pretty much as epic as the Twingo!
