Great video! Would love to build one of these tables! Until then, I’m learning much by watching craftsmen like this guy! Fireball Tools shows one how to plane out his adjustable top design using: music wire, steel ball and a volt meter set to continuity. Super super accurate to .001”, and very educational!

I cut a 5x10 out of 1/2” plate on our water jet and I didn’t put as many holes cause I don’t think they’re needed and then built a frame out of 2” tubing and it came out pretty well

I purchased the dxf files for the 4x8 table. The company that I'm getting a quote from for the laser cutting is asking for a dimensional pdf file. How can I obtain it? I emailed your company several days ago with no response.

Totally man, I have the dxf files up for sale on my website in several sizes. Even two metric ones. makertable.com/pages/dxf-files

The idea of selling the dxf files is a good one for overseas viewers like myself. Shipping costs to Australia are murder.

Awesome! Definitely on the top of my purchase list. Do you make additional panels to make it, say, 5x12?
@MakerTable3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have extension blocks in multiple sizes. You could easily add 12" to each side to get to 12 feet. Shoot me an email and I'll work you up a bundle price whenever you're ready. Adam@makertable.com

Having a measuring device that limit a your tolerance to nothing less than a 1/16 inch is crazy. Using a 4 foot level for your straight edge is in the same category.

What is thickness of the table top , abd internal ribs. Even dia of hole and pitch is not mentioned in your vdo. Anyway it is good effort by you, thanks a lot I really apriciate your efforts

This is great, it's the perfect solution to some of those other tables that you mentioned for a fraction of the cost. I know cause I compared the prices on the websites. My concern is the shipping, what will that cost? With you being in Tennessee and me being in Utah that part could get costly.
@MakerTable5 жыл бұрын
I have freight worked out and built into the checkout process. Any kit under 500 lbs will ship to the continental US for $179 and larger kits for $294 without liftgate service. Definitely something to consider during the process but that is why I offer the dxf files, so you guys can have them cut locally and save all the shipping cost.

Super cool, thank you for helping the maker community not bust the bank. I've asked my local laser cutter shop in the past and his price is more than your table with the shipping, of course that was without the dxf file, I might as him again if I have the file. I'm expecting to make an order with you shortly either a table or a file. Looking forward to it.

I do like design and what are though about water jet cutting out the steel.I going to cut some of dxf files, I bought few days ago in some cold roll .250 plate 2x4 and 4x4 table with my Plasma with HT 45xp finecut machine torch with water mist no and thc the standalone controller by Masso what ever happen to your old table that you Built.
@MakerTable5 жыл бұрын
Waterjet will work great! I traded the old table for a used dragon tube cutting CNC but it was a basket case and I ended up getting rid of it a few months ago. So now I'm running production on our new line of plasma tables and switching to fiber laser soon.
@Rochjm214 жыл бұрын
Is it a waste of time to cut this out with plasma?
@aaronpage18224 жыл бұрын
Plasma isn’t super accurate to use for this. Laser or water jet has a very thin curf that is very precise.
