@@Roses6858 My daughter's Morgan mare took great care of her from 8 yrs old to 17 yrs old. She rode her in orchards with just a halter and another kid on her back, took her in the mountains on poker runs, and rode & drove her in the show ring. There were bucking horses, carts hung up on the rail, people shaking cans, and dogs barking but that little mare always took care of that child and never once spooked or bucked or went crazy. She wasn't a dead horse either; she was a high-stepping English pleasure show horse who won & won because she seemed to really like pleasing the child. So, I'd have to say that SOME horses will not behave badly when there's someone they absolutely trust on their back, child or adult.

Slowing it down at 0:58 and watching closely, both rider and horse look comfortable and safe. Kinsley is in no way "yanking" on the bit. She relies on it for steering simply because her legs are not long enough to put much pressure on Ruby's sides. I'm a rider, have been since I was about 12 years old. I jump this height now, at 17. I've loved horses since before I could speak (according to mom :P). Imagine where Kinsley could be in her teen years! Not every kid would willingly trust an animal this powerful which shows her devotion. I always wished I could've been learning to ride at that age. For those of you nay-sayers, consider how much training and time has gone behind this. She steers well--looking towards her turn before pulling, knows not to go too fast or slow to a jump, trusts Ruby to make the right distance when she gives her her head, and does a beautiful two-point. She is still learning, of course, and I've seen riders triple (or even quadruple) her age make the exact mistakes. But nobody is saying that a fifteen or twenty year old is "too young", they just chalk it up to their level of experience! Kinsley is comfortable in the saddle, and Ruby looks like a very safe and happy mount for her. TL;DR Wonderful video! Very talented little girl and horse!

It's hard not to appreciate a good behaved horse and a kid that knows how to steer without pulling. I started out with a horse like this, but I didn't jump. I pleasure rode and worked my way up to barrel racing. There is so much good that a sweet big horse can do for a young rider. Starting early does a lot for your balance and seat. I'm at a point where I can practice my barrel and pole patterns bareback, or I can sit a trot for an hour without getting sore. More young kids need good horses like this. They're worth their weight in gold and make some great memories.

OMG! There's always got to be a Debbie Downer!! This is a beautiful partnership! The horse is well schooled, safe and cautious. The girl is in proper riding attire, wearing a helmet, has supervision and has obviously done this before. As far as thinking she should be on a pony for "safety " reasons, horses, in general, are much more responsive, reliable and trustworthy than ponies by a long shot. The risk of her falling and cracking her head open is just as likely to happen on a pony as well as a horse. Accidents are going to happen regardless of the steps we take but we shouldn't stop our kids from living their lives because we might be scared of what COULD happen. I commend her parents.

During the minute and a half I rode, I was at the stable when a maybe 6-year-old girl was mounted on a 17 hand horse for a jumping lesson. They literally had to tie up the shortest length of stirrup leathers for her to be able to reach the stirrups. And she did great, the horse did great. If you're raised in the saddle, with smart and safe teachers, it's no surprise that this level of riding can be achieved at this early an age. As for whoever trained that ONLY 7 YEARS OLD! horse - kudos. Also, reinforces my belief that Morgans are a great, underappreciated breed.

I feel like the horse was trained to respond to different cues, as her legs are too small to be of much use for turns and stuff. Transition up maybe but not turning. Growing up, I think she’ll have to learn to use her leg effectively. She has a really good seat though for her age, so just working on leg probably won’t be complicated but I’m not a trainer... I just know that even with my full sized leg, the horse isn’t always as responsive as I would like :,)

That horse is LEGEND. Let the kid have some fun on a bomb-proof (clearly) horse--- This is how you get confidence.. I just love all the critics who have likely never ridden a day in their lives.. 40+ years I am at it and *I* admire HER... Shut up and give your brats back their pom-poms, cars, and cell phones, b/C "that's" *helpful* to them.. LOL. She is out, doing something PHYSICAL and LEARNING.. SO many Monday morning Quarterbacks..

For all those who hate this brave and amazing little one, shes only a kid, and she is amazing for her age, so stop hating on her just because shes tugging at the bit or whatever. Yes, that is bad, but shes only five...like come on, you must have better things to do!

Jennifer The Homestuck Fan I don't think that she's a bad rider but it's so f*cking dangerous!! I actually don't understand how her parents, allowed her to jump without any security.😳

She's lucky that this horse can find good strides on its own because she's not helping by staying in two point at least four strides before each jump! Other than that very very cute and she is extremely talented for her age😊stay safe xx
@liv16647 жыл бұрын
She's only five, you can't expect her to be perfect. Just remembering the course was probably pretty hard for her.
@WxckedArt7 жыл бұрын
That's how I learned to jump when I first started. All the beginning jumpers at my barn learned that way, going into two point a stride or two before the jump to get used to the position and feel of the horse's movements. And it helped us not get left behind and thrown over the horse's head. Considering how small she is, it's probably for the best. :3

@dead_accounttt2 жыл бұрын
When did she start riding? When she was like 2- you’d need that much experience if you were so young to jump that, it’s crazy! I’ve never seen a 5 year old participate in a show.
