Congratulations!!!! The bathroom is gorgeous!!! 2 things.... 1. We didn't really get to see the whole bathroom.... can you do a 360 degree shot? 2. The pot fill idea is brilliant!! 3. I think you should install a track on the ceiling for a curtain.... Hanging that one and removing it seems like it will become a pain and it will need to drip dry anyway. 4. I think you should paint that wood trim above the toilet either white to make it disappear, or black to match your fixtures. Currently, it interrupts the feng shui of your spa! Also, Congratulations on over 50K subscribers!!!! I don't know how long ago that happened, but that is so awesome!!! It is about darn time that people found you! You guys are awesome!

you nailed it, the hose for the typical shower heads banging on the wall and would definitely scratch the epoxy up thats why we went with the pot filler!

For that planked wall, next time try vinyl flooring. It's water "proof" in that its made of vinyl, not fiber so it won't swell. The shower looks great!

That is brilliant. Those pattern panels are awesome, Brandy. The end result is right up there, and I’m so happy for you. When you want to experiment with a better shower rose I am using the whale transom shower hand piece in my fwd head. This has 35 0ff 1.1 mm holes in it and gives a good water spread without chewing through the water too fast. I routinely take a 15 to 20 minute shower each day and fill my starboard side (I use only one tank until they cut the marina water in winter) 240 liter tank once a week. The METSTRADE B2B Marine show is on in a couple of months and I will look for better roses. I love that shower extender arm you found. I need that in my aft head (which rarely gets used). I’m interested to learn how well the sump arrangement works over the medium term.

That outlet volume seems weak. Hardly any pressure and limited in a rolling vessel. I got one of those handpieces with the long hose--they cost about thirty bucks or less and are adjustable plus a pulse. Where you need water, you can spray from them, and they clip to the wall in a holder for your standard in-port shower. That flow looks a tad weak. I think I used a more powerful diaphragm pump, one can buy them from most hardware shops for half the price of the ones marked "Marine". They are identical pumps. To save my fresh water, since I did not have a water maker, I used a quick wet all over--soap up, then rinse. I kept the soapy water pumped from the shower drain into a bladder tank in a plastic box--you only need keep about twenty litres or so, we kept fifty and it never ran out. Once it was full, the excess went into the discharge stand pipe about which more later. This used shower water was then recycled to flush the electric macerator heads, and from there it went into the holding tank. At sea, a diversion system of two gate valves in a yoke diverted this discharge plus any holding tank contents through a separate valve overboard through the discharge stand pipe. Before showering I poured a little holding tank sterilant into the shower drain. That stops the soapy heads stored flush water stinking. Extra sterilant is added for the holding tank by pouring it into the heads bowl itself. Not using seawater in the heads solves a HEAP of nasty problems, prevents calcification in the pipes and pumps, eliminates the forming of any super-toxic organochlorines. It also means one less thru-hull or discharge inlet into the stand pipe. Speaking of thru-hulls, I used only two of them below the water line. They were fairly large ones I had made from copper--and into them I fitted two two inch internal diameter (but you could easily go more) 4mm wall thickness copper stand-pipes which went right through to the deck scuppers where a gas-tight screw-in cap fitting was provided. Removing the cap fitting allowed a broom handle wrapped in a little rope or a stiff bristled cleaning brush to be pushed right through and out under the vessel as a cleaning rod--and no marine growth bothers copper, so no significant barnacles or weed grew in these pipes at all and anything that did was dislodged without having to dive in the water to clean them. Copper pipes are brazed laterally into these stand pipes to admit waste water, and I prefer to admit them above the heeled waterline if possible. Rubber pipes do not react with copper, but polypropylene ones are catalysed by copper and turn to oil--so use only PVC or polythene connecting pipes and always connect them using a silicone reinforced rubber sleeve and double hose clips each side.

Little late, but you could run a single line to the pot fill from the water heater and just set the temp there, save a few bucks on plumbing parts. Might have to take shorter showers if you're using a little tank heater. On the other hand, how cold is the water coming out of your tank when you've been sitting in Guatemala for a while?
