Hahah mate awesome review as always. You were actually the bloke that made me bite the bullet and buy a wuhan warrior when I seen it get towed around Australia. So far I’m only on 2500km. When I heard that your car was going in for warranty issues and you seemed a little stressed, it started stressing me out ahah. I’m glad that it wasn’t anything too serious and that it all got covered under warranty. Anyways good job with the channel man, I really enjoy these videos. Also, this is a bit random here but heres little tip that I know with the cameras that not many people seem to know. When the cameras engage or if you turn them on you can actually manually switch to what camera you want to view on the right side instead of just seeing the front camera. You can do this by double tapping on the 360 degree camera. So if you want to see the left side camera, you double tap on the left side of the 360deg car camera and if you want to see the right side of your car, you double tap the right side of the 360degree car camera and the same goes for seeing the front and back cameras. You can only do this if the camera mode is in the 2D mode not 3D mode. Just a random tip that I thought you might find handy/cool.

I have a October 2020 built Cannon base model with 125,000+ kms on the clock... First registered Feb 2021 so ive driven it over 3 years now. It has been flogged etc ive not had major mechanical or minor issues. Ive used this car every single day since owning it. Been on and off-road many times. It spends nearly every second weekend on the beach and i still havent washed it and its not rusting away. However i did notice you mentioning what you do when your driving on the beach and you mentioned you only turn traction control off and sometimes run the difflock. I did see on your clips when your getting stuck your loosing drive because your centre diff isnt locked.... You should hold that traction controll buttong for 5 seconds. This will help you massivly on the beach as itll lock the centre diff ybat way if one of your wheels spin in the rear you will still have drive going through your front drive shaft. If you run the transfer unlocked you will only get drive shaft driven power to the diff if you have lost traction. The difflock on all the time can cometimes work against you if you have to turn as it can dig you in etc... but yea just a good tip

DPF is a pain, since I swapped with my wife, its needing manual burns 2-3 weeks. Purely from poor software programming waiting too long to start, and too sensitive to interruptions. Good vid mate, I have a very similar fuel issue with Cannon, just done 24k the service department at GWM Hillcrest says they can't check and analyse the fuel pump or fuel pressure because I have a throttle controller (Savage) installed. I get the humming noise from the fuel pump, and when it comes down to about 20 litres in the tank, the fuel delivery issues to the engine is starting to get sketchy. Overall, the car is great, but the service offered is not.
@wheelsbytheoceanАй бұрын
@lukesplace2538 hey mate, yeah I agree. The service departments aren't giving the best 'service' at some dealers. It took 3 goes to get the fuel pump replaced. I have found that all GWM Cannon fuel pumps whine and I think it's pretty normal. Even though my new one is now very quite. But all the Cannons I service I hear the fuel pump noise so wouldn't be too concerned about that. But your starting issue. If it's slow to start and just keep cranking when it's low on fuel it's a fuel pump issue. Seems to be a common thing on these. I have heard from a few people now. Thanks mate, I really hope yours gets sorted. Just take lots of vids etc. Remove the throttle controller when taking the car in for warranty stuff. Any manufacturer will look for aftermarket stuff like that and try to get out of warranty. A throttle controller doesn't do anything except for speed up your pedal to throttle response time so that's a stupid thing to say.... but yeah. 🤞

Great review. My 2022 CannonX just clocked over 35k kms and hasn’t missed a beat. Got a problem with power? Go get a SWDiesel fuel control module (or whatever it’s called!) and your problems will be solved. I have no relationship with the company, I just know the modules work. I’ve had two in two different diesel vehicles and wouldn’t be without one now. Not cheap, but made in Germany says it all. Tell Steve Chris Morris sent you. I do have one question though: How did you get the Apple CarPlay display to have the little icons (and the clock and phone charge state) on the right hand side of the main display? Is it in the settings on the iPhone or the car settings? It’s got me beat! 😢 The German ZF transmissions are adaptive, that’s why you feel it change so well - it’s got your driving style worked out! Doing donuts probably didn’t help though 🤣🤣 I run Continental off-road tyres and feel the transfer box Torque-On-Demand clutch working its arse off when I go a little hard because the tyres are so grippy. I’ll be getting the oil changed at the service next week and see if it makes a difference. I’m not sure if you know but when the oil is changed the clutch pack needs recalibrating due to the change in oil viscosity. All done with a good Diag Tool. I use AUTEL. All the best and Stay safe out there 😊

As soon as you put bigger tyres the car wants to just crash into the car in front haha. It's soo annoying hey because I loved the adaptive cruise control but it's useless with the bigger tyres. Hey mate. Sorry for the delay. Pretty much if GWM can prove that the throttle controller caused an issue then yes. Anything aftermarket can mess with your warranty on any new cars. Couple years back I hired a Isuzu full size tipper truck to do a job, had it for about 2 weeks, it always wanted to regen, it finally clunked out with a full load of topsoil and went into limp mode in peak hour traffic in Sydney, made about 5km/h top speed, could barely get it into gear without it rolling back and stalling, fun times. - New DPF probably costed the hire mob $7,000+. If you let it go too far no matter how many active or passive regens you do they just won't burn the soot, DPFs are just trash.
@davidsmith94404 ай бұрын
@ellioandtkane4443 it was a hire truck, my guess it had been abused and people turning off the regen or didn't let the regen to finish or didn't have a proper service. When that happens the regen will come on often and it will take longer for the regen cycle to complete and after a while wont work properly. Unfortunately most hire places as well as car yards don't either know about dpfs or how to use them. I have been to car yards and asked the sales person how to do a dpf burn on the vehicle i am looking at and they had no idea. So I just walked away.
@elliotkane44434 ай бұрын
@davidsmith9440 It was an earthmoving hire place focused on budget, so I suppose they might nor have had many dpfs. Pretty dumb, if their insurance didn't cover that it would cost big bucks. Same for DEF, they have to purge or they might not start but if you don't explain that the end user probably won't care when he walks over to flick the isolator.

Glad you're having fun with it, its great to have a car that you get in and it just brings you joy. Seems to me that if you bought one used, out of warranty with that highly taxed 2l diesel motor it'd be falling apart on you by 150k. I'm surprised that its got just 120kw and you reckon it pulls a 3t caravan up a steep hill doing 80, my GU Patrol ute's supposed to have 118kw its got a heavy steel tray, full toolboxes, 3.4t and man that thing struggles in 3rd up some steep hills. Same for the 1KD - 3 litre hilux, you put a canopy, some tools and strap a 2 axle trailer on and you're lucky to make 3rd going up some steep hills and that's '126kw' factory. But yeah, definitely not like those crapbox cars they first came out with, a lot nicer, but I'd be worried about longevity and resale.

Question I’m not saying your cannon can’t tow that van but with a GCM of 5550 kg and your Cannon has a kerb weight of Approximately 2000kg and let’s say you are towing 2800 kg Subtract your van weight . Kerb weight and tow ball weight from your Gross Combination Mass and you would have less than 500 kg up your sleeve for passengers and luggage and modifications tow bar Bull bar etc .. I imagine you are cutting it fine. May be you can and or had a gvm upgrade but generally that doesn’t change your GCM. If the gcm was say 6050 like the LDVT60 that is still a 3000 kg tow limit you would have a bit more up your sleeve. Just curious .. been enjoying your videos 👍
