The GoPro 8 still loses because of the price. I would expect much better performance and features for the cost. The Akaso performs great for 50.00.

Another thing I forgot to mention in my previous comment too, is that the Akaso has a mini HDMI port to play directly to a t.v. or whatever...I personally haven't had any use for it, but it's the first one I've seen that had it and I'm sure if I needed to use it to play something back, I'd be pretty happy it was there.
@K_Tech644 жыл бұрын
It absolutely is a solid deal. If you're not a "pro" and just want to record some footage, at one sixth the price, I don't think you can beat the Akaso. Over the years I've spent thousands of dollars on cameras and camcorders that I've used maybe once a month (or less) after the initial "This is so cool" period wore off. Looking at my next purchase honestly, I couldn't see spending the money on a GoPro for footage that would be mostly for my own personal and family use.

For the money I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality. The lack of EIS can be dealt with in post. And color correction can help a lot to create a punchier image similar to that of the GoPro. Of course both the used market and high-quality phones exist. I have for some times argued the best action cam can very well for certain situations be a used high-end camera with a cracked screen picked up for cheap since these are far easier to find than used high-end action cameras.

For bicycling, I've found the image too grainy while moving. If you mount it in a place where there is a solitary image in front (like handlebars that are always in the bottom of the shot) I suppose the processing methods of the camera and color data minimalizes the amount of colors on the palette while processing, resulting in a clearer image. Otherwise, I've found the video quality of ek7000 pretty poor whilst moving on a bicycle. It is very lightweight though, something less bumpy with solid road in front like motorcycle might be better suited. I had to upgrade from ek7000 to hero 4 as the quality was just too poor.

I think a lot of people forget that with the GoPro Hero 8, you can adjust the colors in post production if the camera setting for color is on Flat. That can help alleviate the issue of oversaturated videos/pics. The Hero 8 also lets a lot more scenery into the shot and the image stabilization is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Hey! I have the Akaso EK7000 I was actually able to get it to work as a webcam - and use it but business calls when working from home. It actually preforms pretty well if its a work cam, but a pro streamer WILL need something else. To get the web cam mode to work, You would have to plug it in and then touch the top Red Circle button to change the camera to PC mode - Now it must be plugged in and you must have a battery and a SD card in the camera for it to work.

Honestly I have watched a few of this videos on the Akaso cameras and I am pretty surprised by your claim that the Akaso doesn't have stabilization features, BECAUSE the Brave 7 and the V50X both Akaso units DO have this feature!!! THEN FURTHER is the GoPro black screen of death problems along with a host of other issues I have seen on other KZbin channels too!! For the price of a GoPro, I want a camera that just simply works, BUT sadly many KZbinr creators I follow, including Puddin of Puddin's Fab Shop and Dan, of DD Speed Shop, DO often enough have over heating problems with their GoPro Cameras making me question how good the cameras are for the price!! AND IF I am being completely honest here, I have shot video for years on a Sony Handicam Hi 8mm camera that has a 16:1 aspect ratio setting and the video still looks OK on that camera, by requires a Firewire card and cable to hook it up to my computer!! Which means transferring 8mm tape to is more of a chore than it would be than if I could simply "plug in" a SD card and go on with my life!!!!! The point is, CURRENTLY I am in the market for a new camera....BUT I think the Akaso is a better product, then the over priced Go Pro everybody seems to love so much!! And I honestly just want "simple" which is NOT want the Go Pro seems to be about either!!!

Nice job. I purchased the Brave 4. Documentation was poor. Spent a lot of time, as a 1st time action cam owner, learning how it operates. But the real comparison shouldn’t just be price point. Why not compare the AKASO model with similar features to the GoPro 8 where price would be a feature and not the primary purchase criteria. I use my camera scuba diving and biking. I’m happy with the picture quality underwater and agree the picture quality needs improving when mounted on my handlebars.

Just see it as a beginner camera, when you are satisfied with your over all skills of filming and editing, then you can advance to a gopro later. I have a really unknown brand, too, not great, but I have refocused my frustration. I have to learn to work with what I've got. Like seeing if I can get good without gopro quality... Makes me also learn stabilizing and other post editing skills. Harder, but still. 😎👍🏼 If it's family and unforgettable moments you want to capture, get a gopro immediately. You don't want bad quality on that footage. Don't forget to use the high speed memory card so it doesn't freeze, and update software often. 😁👍🏼Good Luck! 🌞
