Ive had four life saving surgeries. Nothing could induce me to have elective surgery. I worked for a woman who had nasal cancer that left one side of her face caved in. Of course, her doctors wanted her to have reconstructive surgery. She asked her husband if he wanted her to do it. He told her she was beautiful, he wasnt in love with her face. She never had it and never regretted it. I think her courage is inspiring.

This is absolutely frightening. Heartbreaking. Sometimes it seems like I’m the only 55-year-old who hasn’t ever had Botox or lip fillers or some kind of something done to my face. Honestly, it scares me more to have things botched, than to have some fine lines starting to appear.

I’m Japanese and I saw an advertisements on trains It encouraged high school students to undergo plastic surgery of eyes. Large eyes, white skin, straight black hair, skinny body, being in this country, there is only one standard of beauty, and it feels very suffocating.
