At IGNITION 2018, award-winning rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Starz CEO Chris Albrecht talk about their hit show "Power" and finding success in TV and entertainment.
Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said that he's "happy to have them all work, but we're determined to have at least one."
Jackson signed a multi-series deal with Starz this year, reported to be worth up to $150 million, and has other projects outside of the "Power" universe in development.
Starz has 3 'Power' spin-offs in development, including a prequel TV series starring 50 Cent
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson won't be returning as an actor to the Starz hit series, "Power," but he's not finished with the premium network and that universe.
During a conversation at Business Insider's Ignition conference this week, Jackson and Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said that three "Power" spin-offs are in the works, including one starring Jackson's character, Kanan, who redacted during season five this year. (Season six is currently in production, and Jackson is still an executive producer on the show.)
"The prequel is my spin-off," Jackson said. "I get the chance to come back. I'm gone. It's cool, though. It gives the chance to show the world where all of these characters grew in so you can see the defining moments that developed their imperfections that people are attracted to at the moment. It's exciting. It's TGE, the golden era."
Albrecht said that three spin-offs are currently moving "all at the same time."
"I'm happy to have them all work, but we're determined to have at least one," Albrecht added. "BMF, other projects we have going ... there's a lot of activity. And it's important because there's a lot of fans out there that want to see more of those characters and new stuff like BMF, which is going to be amazing. Not easy, but amazing."
Earlier this year, Jackson signed an exclusive multi-series deal with Starz to develop scripted and unscripted content, reported to be worth up to $150 million. One project in development is "Black M Family," about the 1980s organization founded by Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory.

+Planetary Mindset So true. Don't underestimate street guys. Not that I approve of it, but they start with drugs because that's what appears to be the easiest way to get a business going in their environment... but if they were in a different environment, it could have very well been stocks, entertainment, real estate etc.

Its compleatly Impossible next genarations in industry repeat 50s legacy ! ! ...Curtis is a true living Legend! One of the last real Legends in world industry...not only because he appeared in the best era of hip hop but the way his career was always growing with the maximum credit, where he came from and the environment where he came and how he managed to grow and how he achieved a recognizable world status is respect! a brilliant and enterprising mind, has always been clever since the problematic adolescence in crime in Queens that he envisioned and set goals and did not stay in the misery of the neighborhood like many others ... today he is an inspiration to many aspirants around the world without a doubt ... the curriculum of 50 is enviable ... so a rapper or artist who comes from the bottom as he repeats something like that will not happen anymore ...period!

And this is why a lot of entertainers are afraid of 50 cent. He can be so petty and talk shit and no one would have the balls to press him. This dude is gangster and business man. He can’t lose!

50 is straight professional. Other rappers would propably wouldve showed up with a t shirt and some jeans, he shows up with two piece suit on. He always dresses for the occasion.
