It's a great choice of phrases. I can see myself using these on a daily basis. I really liked the sentence breakdown in the bottom left corner, it's interesting, plus it helps me memorise things much faster.

I keep coming back to this video because it has most useful phrases. My Chinese friends are really impressed when I use them at the right moment. 😆. They say… You know that? How did you know that? Are you Chinese? 😂

This is one of the most useful Chinese phrases video I've seen on KZbin. I also like how you break down the meaning of each word. Many thanks 😊

It's when I hear people like you speaking in Chinese with such a soft voice that I fall in love with this language even more ❤️ But I feel like I'll never be able to pronounce the tones properly in sentences. It makes my brain hurt 😫 I'm usually very good at learning languages (I speak English and Japanese) but Chinese seems out of reach, just because of the tones... I manage to pronounce them when the words are isolated but in a sentence it requires so much effort !
@trekpac24 жыл бұрын
Marine I am like you. I’ve studied Japanese for many years and just love it. Chinese has been a bit of a puzzle for me for many years, even though I took a course for 6 months, but I see so many foreigners speaking it well these days. Let’s take another run at learning some phrases. I’d at least like to greet a few of my Chinese friends properly. Jen's calm, well-organized approach makes me fall in love with the language, too. The language opens a door to such an amazing new world.
@simplesimple42474 жыл бұрын
Same here! I struggle with the tone. Chinese people told me that I sound like chanting when I try to speak their language 😂
@LERobbo3 жыл бұрын
Understand. Have the same problem, even if it's only not to raise tone at the end of a sentence asking a question. As far as I know tones aren't particularly important in a sentence anymore though, since the meaning is more or less derived from context? That's my go-to excuse anyway when getting it wrong once again ^_^

Love these expression! After watching lot of cdrama I must say I've heard these expressions a lot. Thank you! More of these please
This is super useful. I am trying to find a video on discourse markers for adding info, contrast, cause and result, sequencing, and very short narration such as "you see that guy over there in the red hat talking to that other guy?" it's hard to find natural sounding templates like this. Anyway I loved this video and you have a new subscriber. Thank you for your hard work!
