You're so similar to me and my mom. .specially on plastic stuff. My mom hates plastic, she's replaced as much plastic containers as she could and she'd never take up plastic bags. And the "plastic prob" has become big enough that everyone must take it up with utter seriousness, a little contribution to try and lessen it's use will have a huge impact because hey! it's because of us only which had it grown so much.

This makes a lot of sense I don't buy- Hair conditioners (apply egg or curd or some home remedy once in a week, that's enough, hair conditioners are just a gimmick) Face packs Tissue papers Aluminium foil, I use very soft cotton cloth to wrap chapatis etc in tifin but not foil. Cotton roles or balls for applying cleansers or removing make up, instead make small small napkins with your old clothes. These are reusable and can save 100-150 rs per month. Fabric softeners, they are of no use to me, I prefer washing delicate clothes in easy. Too many lip balms ( though I am obsessed with lip balms, but now I wait patiently for one to finish) Mouth fresher or mints, I keep clove, cardamom etc in a small box in my purse Expensive soaps/body wash, (medimix and khadi mint soaps are more than enough) Intimate wash soap or liquid soap, change your panties twice in a day, keep proper hygiene, you won't need intimate wash. Have one black, one golden and one silver footwear to match with all party wears. Watches, I have same combination, golden silver n black..one one each. Also, avoid going to super markets, we end up buying lot of items which just pile up in our house, if you want to avail some good discount from super market then just go once in a month with a fixed list, it helps. I uninstall apps like Amazon Flipkart etc from time to time, especially during festivals, believe me, I dint shop anything that I don't need by this.

yesterday itself i was watching this documentary on minimalism on netflix and have watched other videos as well , it makes complete sense to me . I mean this is the lifestyle i would personally love to adapt if we notice minutely we have started loving things and we are depended on it , we have things that doesnt bring joy in our lives anymore yet we keep it in our shelves and clean the dust on it from diwali to diwali peopl often misunderstand this and say oh i love my books and i love exchanging it bla bla ...i mean books bring me joy then why not keep it ...but chuck all other stuff that has not been utilized for years We humans are becoming compulsive hoarders and spend so much money on things that wont do us any good after few days , we work day and night for what ??? to have this huge clutter of things that doesnt mean anything to us I am so happy Prachi that you have adopted this lifestyle It will bring u more peace of mind , you will not only have space in ur house but mind as wel to concentrate on things that really matter . I think you have not mentioned but use of tissue paper is another thing that we can refrain. 2. Buying imported veggies or fruits - if you follow Rujuta Divekar , she always talk about using veggies and fruits that are in season and regional foods ONLY. and it’s bad for several reasons. 3.keeping a scanned copy of all your imp docs like Aadhar etc in your email may be , a lot of people have habit of taking a hard copy and keeping it even if it’s not required. 4.avoid buying food while travelling instead carry fruits or homemade dabba 5.not only video games there are lot of other things that you can use second hand for e.g. car, phone etc (people might have different opinion about it though ) 6. I don’t use geaser (dunno how to spell that but I am sure you got it 😉) 7. More than one mirror in house 8. Car pooling - saves time , energy and reduced pollution since 4 people can go in one car instead of 4 people taking 4 cars - there is an app for this too - bla bla cars These are only things on top of my mind as you asked for suggestions !! 😃 Stay happy stay blessed ... keep doing good work 😃

I learned so much from this one. Thanks a ton. My house is quiet big and very spacious but my family and i like the space in the house and that's why we have less furniture. Plus internally also we feel clean and happy because of it. Last Diwali a neighbor came to our house to wish us for Diwali and made a comment "you should buy better furniture and decorate the house it feels incomplete" in a very bad tone, which made me feel really bad. I am over it now. And I feel whatever logics and reasoning you have behind not having extra things are very correct. Mostly people Know it but just to show off and maintain the status in the society try to incorporate the extra material in their house. Lastly, I am going to follow everything you talked about. Btw, we never bought or re decorated our house :p Thanks! Much love ❤️

Hi Prachi, I didn’t know you are in Bangalore. Me too😊 While watching this video I felt it’s exactly what I feel and what I do in my life that too exactly from last 3 years. Just one thing to add, I don’t even feel necessity of fridge. I know someone might feel weird but that’s true. I don’t have fridge at my home. Cold water doesn’t suits for both of us. We use matka We both prefers fresh vegetables daily to buy. We don’t drink afternoon tea so we only get small packet or if extra i just keep on stove for 10 min to boil it stays for next day morning also. In cut short,we are trying to live the life the way our grandparents used to live. Agree many things are not possible like pure food items, pure ghee etc.. but still nothing wrong in trying as much as possible.😊😊😊😊 Thanks

Good tips. However, I'm not too sure about the gold certificates. Now with US-China trade suffering, the real estate bubble popping in the West, and a bunch of other indicators (i.e. Baltic Dry Index) going down...it looks like we're heading towards a recession/depression worse than 1929. :/ Fiat currency is not sustainable. If you are going to invest, it's better to buy gold (and silver) coins or bars and store them in the bank (and some in other safe places for immediate liquidity). Precious metals are the only stores of value that haven't lost their worth in the last thousands of years. Stocks, bonds, funds...they all go down. All throughout history, every single fiat currency (paper money that is NOT gold backed) has gone to zero. Every. Single. One. It's only a matter of time before the petro US dollar crashes and takes all other economics with it.

I don't like Gold or Diamond Jewellery, because you have take great care, of them. Even I don't like to wear any jewelery, except earrings and that also should be artificial. My house has not so much space to keep decorative items and expensive home appliances, because we live on rent.

@@janinakaufmann4203 This is a mistake which we are doing...we starts our day with gadgets. We need to take a break with technology. Lots of people are trying to understand that reading is must and it's good for our memory from many ways. Guys Read Read Read...but not technology ...try to smell the pages ... it's an amazing feeling.

Hey Prachi .. nice n useful video.. which ESSENTIAL OIL u use for mosquitoes..?

This video is really nice but I feel this should come from within and it comes with maturity. Once you are over the all these superficial things, you tend to understand what you really need and what you don't. It takes time and offcource it's not easy to let go. I must say you have really grown and you really inspire me. I am fifteen years old and I do get carried away with all these good looking things which I may actually not need. It looks very attractive but I do believe that less is more!!

I can totally relate to u as me n my husband believes in minimalistic living. We too shifted to a new rented house n we only bought things which r really very necessary. I really love my spacious house n our life too. I have to say such a unique n important topic to discuss.😊👍

I totally agree with u. But once there are kids at home we end up buying so many extra and unnecessary stuff. How can we control it?
