Yes! Visual clutter is huge. Every time someone walks into my house, they always mention how clean it is. Less clutter makes your house appear clean AND it’s easier to keep clean

I can second that. My friend always asks why it is so clean at ours. We just don’t have a lot of stuff! Easy! Less stuff, less to tidy.

So great!! Minimalism has been the absolute best treatment for someone with ADD and struggles with executive function. It is a slow progress. I’m 59 years old, three grown children and three grands and a large home. That’s a lot of STUFF!!! Sold the home and moved into a two bedroom apartment and slowly, little by little making others happy with a lot of great things that now overwhelm me. ❤️❤️

I've been a minimalist since I was a teenager in the 80's. I've raised my son this way. I carried him on my back until he was age 3 and rode everywhere on my bike with him sitting behind me in a kiddy seat. I used cloth nappies, wee wipes, made all our clothes etc. There was nobody doing any of this when he was born(2008) now I see it is trendy. I used to be a bush walker in my 20's so I learned to live on what I could only carry on my back (15kg). I lived overseas by myself age 20-24. The only furniture I owned was a bed, a wardrobe, a couch, a bookstand and a 14 inch television sitting on top of it. My home today has no decorations in it. I regularly do a purge once a year, as my husband likes to collect things whereas I get rid of them!

They do cost money, but also do children, businesses, etc... It's a form of love and service. I always say this: there's plenty of things to save money on, love and service are not one of them. So save a pet, receive and give the love and companionship and you'll find out that "spending" money with them is so much more worth than "saving money" just for the sake of it.

Visual clutter ............ OMG yes!!!!!!!!!! I love decorating for Christmas. Love it!!!! BUUUUUUT when we finally started taking it down (just this past week. Seasonal depression, working full time, 2 small kids, etc) it was literally a breath of fresh air. The house almost feels "empty" but in a good way. I literally look around and it almost feels like we're moving out, especially with the storage boxes not in the attic yet lol! My husband said "Do you want me to bring down the Spring boxes while I'm in the attic?" I said "NOOOOO!!!!! Not yet." I want to enjoy the newfound reset, and decide what I REALLY want to keep and display.

This is my first time seeing any of your videos, and it was great! I'm trying to become more minimalist minded and get rid of the clutter. I've come a long way, but I have a long way to go. With an upcoming 2,000 mile move, I'm hoping to use this oportunity to really purge a lot of old habbits and junk...and most importantly, mental clutter from all the physical clutter. I will probably still paint my nails from time to time, but much of your list really got some wheels turning! I only had one child, and I fully agree that most things and most toys just aren't worth the hassel, expense, and clutter. Thank you for your suggestions and your no-judgement, honest approach to sharing what has positively impacted your life.🤩

To balance hormones, boil 1.5 Tbsp each of cumin, coriander, n fennel seeds into 5 cups of water. Bring to a boil n leave on stove for bit n shut off. I do double batch, let cool n then strain n keep in fridge covered. I drink like a tea, heated up. It's kinda gross but get used to it. Look up Ayurveda medicine, is how I found natural way to balance hormones.

Thanks for another inspiring video! We have a lot of the same things we no longer buy and it’s encouraging to know there are more of us out there! I did just order some concealer samples and a mango color pot (in jam) from Araza. I rarely buy makeup and only use concealer, blush, and mascara but it’s hard to spend money on. However I decided today was the day! I’m sure the stuff I’ve been using isn’t great for my skin and it wears off so quickly. I used the discount code on your website and it feels like a gift from myself and from you. Thank you! I can’t wait to try it!

I am similar with you on the nails 🤩 The natural color of nails are so pretty. Idk why so many people are so obsessed with designing their nails to the point they are wasting a lot of money. I also don't like long nails. Besides of the fear of ripping them off. I have scratched my face many times with my untrimmed nails. Not even long nails but untrimmed nails. I still feel the scratch texture on my skin when I touch it. I really love the first one tbh because I can totally relate with you on the nail part. Same with number two lol So many women waste too much money on makeup. I am fine without wearing makeup. If I would wear makeup, I would only have the basic and would not waste money on it.

Leave the USA, stop killing each other, and open your online business. I have shopped on line for decades for groceries etc. to be delivered to my home, and I love it. I was raised by adopted great grandparents, when my married parents were not responsible, and GG died at 106, and she trained me very well on paying. my rent, bills etc, and health issues. Sabrotones is a wheat based skins, that tasted just like pork skins, which I do not eat pork. I am 6 months stocked up on groceries and cash when the shtf. They hold purchases payouts for 4 days, so I let my rent come out 3 days early as a nice tenant to nice landlords in Queretaro. My rent includes everything and a maid.

I'm 73. We used to have few toys, I remember having cardboard boxes, crayons, and a doll. My brother and I played Monopoly. My kids had few toys. My grandkids have Legos and some action figures. No one needs all the stuff. Tina, Al's wife

Hey Margaret, great video! Do you think you can do a video of your favorite simple & easy workouts you do at home? I’m trying to save on getting a gym membership 🤣

Excellent, very well done! As a guy obviously a lot of what you covered doesn’t apply to me (don’t know if your channel is geared towards women - first time here), but there was so much good stuff. I especially appreciated the emphasis on healthy living and exercise. I’ve often felt a little bit like a cop out for not doing formalized fitness training but your remarks reinforced my thinking. Like you I’ve had so much learning from various athletic pursuits, and KZbin university is SO good. So much can be done at home or in a park with a kettlebell, mace and yoga mat. And yes a clutter free kitchen is priceless. Keep up the good work.

Nice list! I invested in some reusable paper towels made locally in my Amish community. I have 2 sizes. They wash up beautiful, come in cute patterns and are super absorbent. I do keep a roll or two of real paper towels on hand for things that absolutely require it (i.e. absorbing grease from bacon, things like that), but honestly, I love these things and I love not spending the $$ every month.

I was over the top with everything few years ago. And then I started practising minimalism and in few years this is what I did. I moved in a 200sq feet apartment. I use only furniture that I need. No decor except few pictures on the wall. I have few purses and I use mainly backpack. No more plastic bags. I use one brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Wood toothbrush. I commit to wear 2 brands of clothing, one for underwear, one for the rest, no fast fashion. 2 snickears, plus one for the gym, 1 winter shoes and 1 for summer. I have separate bins for plastic, glass, paper and general trash and it's all recycling(in my country we have to separate trash). I sell my books and kept only my favourite ones. I stock up with fresh food once a week and I eat everything, no waste. Here we can return plastic bottles and cans and receive small amount of money so I recycle those too. Everything I own can be put in 3 suitcases. I find this lifestyle more enjoyable, less stressful, I still have nice clothes, I still eat in the restaurants, I travel often and now I even have more money for such things. I don't have kids so I can afford this lifestyle and it's not for everyone just to make clear.

A lot of these are things I already do just because I grew up on a tight budget in a big family. However, every once in a while, a parents, sibling, or friend will buy me some of these out kf love, and it feels really special. Getting a flat of water bottles when I had COVID was insanely nice b/c tap water in my area is known to be toxic.

First time here as well from Australia. Fantastic vlog, am packing up my life in boxes at the moment & am horrified at how much stuff I have. Even found clothing in my wardrobe with tags attached. Shoes from a holiday in Hawaii I've never worn. Journals & notebooks. A box full of Tarot & Oracle cards (only ever use 2 packs) Linen, white only some still in packaging the quality that can't be brought these days. I could go on & on. The only thing on your list I couldn't live without is the coffee but everything else I agree with. A neighbour recently brought me chicken soup as I had the virus over xmas. Although much appreciated, unknown to her I couldn't eat it - was in a Tupperware bowl that must be at least 40 years old yellowing lid & what had been I think a pale blue colour with the inside plastic all stained & scratched. Just horrific & there would be no point in telling her how dangerous it is to use as she loves her microwave & the containers required. Another item I haven't used or had for over 15 years. All in storage with the rest of my life but haven't missed it at all. Amazing what you actually can live without. Am so excited to watch past & future posts of yours
