Steve, I have to tell you something… I found your channel by accident as I was watching an RV channel. In short, I subscribed big time and I am back in my house watching your videos and I am so impressed that I am going to plan a trip out to glacier national Park in the spring. Your videos definitely have a WOW factor! Very difficult to believe that you are not a professional videographer, producer, editor, presenter! I am addicted to your videos now and will certainly be watching all of them. I’ve never really hiked much but I’m going to get in shape starting tomorrow morning and working out every day until I’m ready to go in the spring. I’m retired and I have a new Nikon camera that I’ve been fooling with the last yearTaking pictures on the beach in Fort Myers Florida… Sunsets, beach pictures etc. but I’ve really been missing the world after I’ve seen your videos. Thanks Jack! Actually, I am a professional video producer/director/writer etc- for 20+ years. Had something on Espn today as a matter of fact. I do travel videos for fun- it’s what I wish I got paid to do-only with a budget. Thank for a wonderful and informative video and series. Our family of 6 is headed to Glacier this summer as part of our 2 week 4 NP vacation. Your Glacier videos have helped me narrow down our hiking areas for the trip. Our kids range 3-10 and although all of them are avid young hikers ,the hikes on this trip will be some of their longest. The videos have helped excite them and get them ready to train a bit harder.

Glad to see you watched this one. It shows a rough route to grinnell peak. ive tried a few times to find it off the grinnel glac trail but failed. The folks working on Many Glacier gave hints. Ive seen shots of the MGH from up there and its really cool. on a hike I will ask for help carrying tripod and other gear.

I went to Glacier National Park in September for the first time! It was amazing and I based a lot of my hikes, as well as, logistics on Steve's videos. In seven days I hiked: Highline to Granite Park Chalet, Grinnel Glacier, Trail of Cedars to Avalanche Lake, St. Mary's to Virginia Falls, Barring Falls, and Swiftcurrent Pass which included Fishercap and Red Rock lake. Im going back in July of 2022 and am looking forward to seeing the park in a different season.

Your videos are so I formative. So much helpful information and tips. I think I read where the Granite Park Chalet will provide bed linens for $20 if you don’t want to carry a sleeping bag. Is that correct?

Speaking as a Canadian for whom Waterton is one of his favourite national parks, I don't disagree with you about the website or Parks Canada ;) Thanks for this video... We've been to Glacier many times, but always in short jaunts that tend to preclude longer hikes. We're going for the better part of a week in August (assuming the current plague subsides by then and the borders are back open), with a day to retrace the Highline Trail which we did a few years ago and another full day for another hike. We're avoiding Many Glaciers due to the road construction (we might try actually staying there next year) but this video has given us some good options for our second hike. Thank you very much! P.S.: At least north of the border, "Piegan" is pronounced "Peegan" or "Paygan" :) Though really it should just be renamed for the proper name of the tribe, Piikani!

Hello. Very helpful video!. Me and my wife are gonna travel from South America to Montana on September 2023 in order to visit Glacier Park. We are gonna travel from Kalispell (from the hotel go and back to the park for 3 days with a rental car).. Is there any special advice you can share with us about the park, trails and hikes?. Since we are traveling from far away and we have just a few days to spend there... thanks in advance

First start VERY EARLY. september is a great time to go but it will be crowded. Watch my first other videos to see about getting around on the Sun Road, crowds and the special vehicle Reservation Ticket you’ll need to get in the park (after a certain time). Become very familiar with the Park website. The entrance rules change and u MUST understand them to enjoy your trip

@@TheWestisBig Yes.. we are aware about Vehicle Reservation ticket ($2) valid for 3 days.. that should be buyed 60 days in advance and Park entrance ticket. I hope we can get the entrance or we are gonna have to arrive before 6am. Thanks!!

What’s a good small town to stay in near glacier? Looking more toward the west end and hopefully no more than a 30 minute drive or so. Great video, and I can’t wait to visit Glacier this August.

There are many West Glacier, Whitefish, Columbia Falls and of course Kalispel- Of course for hiking I prefer the east side but there is very limited room options outside the park near St, Mary and Babb- folks are building more cabins near st. mary though

Hmm I wrote and edited a segment on doing via the horse trail-- hmm I forgot I cut out all the horse trail stuff- guess I'll have to add it back in- Ive made several other changes based on comments I'll add this one. I've never hiked to Cracker lake due to the manure problem.

This was thoroughly enjoyable, except for the pronunciation issues of a few place names. Piegan rhymes with began or pecan ( if you're from Savannah) with the emphasis on syllable #2. And Siyeh is equal emphasis on both syllables, and rhymes with pronouns I, He. (with an aspirated h at the end of he.

i’ve been going there for 25 yrs and never heard Piegan pronounced that way… but ok.
