@sumdood20355 жыл бұрын
I was actually suckered into the exact same lot (for the silver), and my experience mirrors yours. Being generous, based on the silver melt I maybe got half what I paid. Nothing really had numismatic value. The fake gold dollars are 5 for $5 and can be purchased right on eBay. The pearls are worth maybe $1.50. The gold "flake" (usually foil or electronics gold scrap) vials included in similar auctions are also worth about $1 each. I have tried many of these lots. From Graded slabbed coin mystery lots, to "below wholesale dealer bid" lots. The best you can expect is to break even. As far as the bottom, there isn't one. I actually had the best luck with proof coin mystery lots. At least some of those could return a big profit if I could convince myself they were worth getting graded. Many were flawless and untouched. Some still in mint cello.

They intice people with promises that are too good to be true, using peoples greed and emotion to override logic to get rid of garbage that wouldn't be touched if it was left on the side of a road. Why would they sell a bag with a0 gold coin that alone capn be worth a min of $80-$100 for $16. When they can take that gold coin to a coin shop/pawnshop and get its almost full value. How many gold coins have you recently sold for $16? Ask your self that.
@sumdood20353 жыл бұрын
@@voltsoftruthBSbuster I've bought many more since then, just spending spare "petty cash" for my own entertainment, because I was determined to find a decent value. Mostly garbage, but there were a few lots/sellers that actually contained some gems. Things like civil war tokens, etc... That had actual collectible value. Most of the garbage lots I usually just gave to the kids in the family, and work friends, to maybe spark an interest in collecting.

Hi. The 5 Cent coin dated 1958, isn't just another 'Nickel'! In that I mean, the Philadelphia mint house. During 1958, not many coins were minted, especially nickels. Therefore, that coin is categorized as Low Mintage coin and its value is much higher than you counted as 50 cents.

The first seller's Grab Bag was really kewl and worth it, yes. The second guy's "Grab Bag" should have been sold as a TRASH BAG! 👎👎🗑️😝🚮🗑️😝🚮🗑️😝🚮 👎👎 And I loved watching this video and I'm already a sub. Thanks for the heads up 👁️👁️ for the inexperienced & young numismatists out here. You're saving ppl from being scammed 👍 (hopefully lots of them). Scammers suck! - especially the self-righteous ones. Keep on rockin' the videos bro.

The 1980 gold nickel it'self is 40$ if it is mint condition. Edit: Dime, my bad.
@clydecourtney9944 жыл бұрын
@@Miniminer1999 The gold-plated dime is no way worth $40. It was plated by someone outside the mint and is considered a "damaged coin" Gold is so malleable you can gold-plate something and it's like painting it as far as cost goes. I have a bag full of gold-plated quarters and their neat to look at but not worth any more than face value. I've also found a few quarters plated with a silver-colored material and these are a mystery to me. It's not silver but almost as white, like platinum or pewter. Can anyone help clue me in on these? Has anyone found these too?

This was an excellent video, SP. Sadly, the great majority of listings for these types of grab bags, are scam. MSRC3102 was definitely an exception, and IMO worth buying.

What's amazing about the first bag is a few of the items you undervalued and still did amazing. The indian head arrowhead necklace will easily get $5. The titanic will easily get $3-$5. Everything in a hard plastic case will easily get a few dollars more than if you broke it up and sold them individually. People love dumb crap like that.

Cody's lab or one of the other gold reclamation youtubers (Can't remember who's video it was) tested the gold content in these sort of gold notes, and gold playing cards.. couldn't even recover chemically any gold off these things, just gold colored foil, the notes are 100% fake.
