My mate lived in Aus for around a year. He spent most of his time living in a house by Bondi Beach, Sydney. One day when he was having a shit in the Sydney house, he could hear something inside the toilet, and it turned out to be one of Australia's most deadly spiders.
@tolgahk84

@@danielgardecki1046 It was probably a redback. They can be deadly but only to young children and frail elderly people. Majority of people bitten by a redback survive with immediate medical intervention and suffer no ill effects afterwards. I know a young lady from Minnesota who married and Australian and now lives here. Despite our well known "dangerous" wildlife it is rare to see any of it at all. And we have antivenoms for most venomous creatures, which is why very, very, few people ever have unfortunate meetings with our dangerous wildlife. Fact is, most animal related fatalities in Australia are due to interactions with horses! The horses are not dangerous themselves but the are big and people fall and get injured. In terms of fatalities due to wildlife per 100 people Australia has a lower rate than the USA. So come and feel safe.

Ashtyn and Jon, i'd say it's time for a seachange, instead of moving interstate i reacon you guys should move here to Australia. It's not as bad as most people make it out to be, we've got great weather, great education prospects, gorgeous beaches and places to visit, good healthcare, good work wages, all in all it's an awesome country to raise a young family. Plus it may work out in favor for your dad if he sees how great it is down here he may move here as well since its also a great place to eventually retire to. My parent's came here in the early 70's, dad was 31 mum was 26, they had two young kids in tow and didn't even know a word of English when they arrived and they did great here, so if they can do it there's no reason you guys couldn't either :)

I arrived in Australia aged thirteen in 1972 from England, it is a brilliant country to live in. Depending on the type of climate you like , you can live in the tropics in the North or the more English style of climate in Tasmania down South, or anything in between. One thing you learn very quickly is the vast distance needed to travel around to see this great country. Quite a few tourists arrive hire a car or 4wd and think they can just jump in and go all over the Country. If you are wanting to go outback into desert country, you need to go with other vehicles as a group. You have to have spare parts for the vehicle, plenty of spare food water fuel and some sort of communications. No 7/11s in the outback.

@OrnumCR
@OrnumCR 4 жыл бұрын
Ben Chesterman ...you do not need to convert the car to RHD. Depends on the state you’re moving to...Car is considered a personal import so the criteria is different. The car just needs to meet ADR regs specific to its year of manufacture and be roadworthy. Change the headlamps and the speedometer to km/h from MPH and that’s about it. Always advisable to check local regs and import criteria first. Authorities here will generally need you to have owned the car for over a year at least. I used to deal with cars in from the UK, so we did a bit of this stuff.

So, dealing with magpies goes like this. Don't be shy! They register confidence and anxiety. Unless a magpie is viciously attacking you they can usually be repelled if you wave a stick and yell. Some of them even divert their flight pattern if you make eye contact with them fast enough. The same magpies nest in the same places are rarely ever find new trees to nest in if they are really satisfied. Took me years of having my scalp under threat to find these things out

@Graeme Yamaha The US is a net exporter of crude oil. Depending on which set of statistics you use the US has a net export of about 200,000 to 300,000 barrels per day. I just did some quick math. Converting US average price per gallon to what its value would be in liters and AUD insted of USD. The average price per liter of Gas/petrol in the US is $1.13 AUD. ( Please keep in mind my math was really quick could contain errors) Australia currently has the 16th least expensive petrol in the world, with the average price per liter sitting at $1.41 AUD. All my information comes from Q2 2019 financial report's.

I call bullshit on that fact lol. I spent around 3 to 4 weeks in the WA goldfields with the impression i would see a camel but a few days in i was out with a my detector in a remote area heavy with tree's and shrubs and you know that part in a horror movie when shit goes bad...... it was almost like that when i realised i hadn't seen a single living creature and even more daunting, not a single bird noise...... it was like i was alone in the world and was enough to make me pack up and move onto another spot. In my honest opinion i feel they are over poisoning for wild dogs and killing other wildlife as when i crossed the WA boarder and they inspected the vehicle for fruit and veg they mentioned to keep and eye on my dog and watch out for them licking their paws as they air drop bait to kill wild dogs and wash the dogs feet each day. Also along the Nullarbor i saw countless dead kangaroo's and almost none alive and 90% looked like they where not hit by a car and just dropped dead or more likely shot by people just driving or could they be baiting the road so when it rains and they come to drink from the road puddles........... ok, time to take my tin foil hat off lol :)

About the big ducks... Dromornithidae, also commonly referred to as mihirungs, thunder birds or demon ducks, were a clade of large, flightless Australian birds of the Oligocene through Pleistocene epochs. All are now long extinct. They aren’t exactly ducks, maybe somehow similar. Basically just huge ancient birds

You need to move to the northern coast above Sydney or up in Queensland, tropical, above Brisbane it's pretty much warm all year round, Northern Territory is constantly around 30-25 degrees C all year round but they have crocs up there so no swimming, Western Australia is beautiful but very remote It's like a 3 day dive from Melbourne, Melbourne has a great food scene but does get cold and a lot of rain, Tasmania is gorgeous but gets very cold during the winter plus you have to get there by plane or bout, Up north would be better for you guys but it does get very sticky and humid in the tropical heat......

@@vickersonp You don't geddit. Our alpine areas are many times bigger than the entire country of Switzerland. So if you rolled up all the snow that fell on the Swiss Alps in a year into a big snowball, and then did the same with ALL THE SNOW THAT FALLS PER YEAR in Australia, Australia has the biggest one. Ours also melts the fastest, so we'd win that dick competition, too.

Ashtyn, I'm Australian,...yes Kangaroos have tiny babies, when they are born the crawl up the fur to the pouch and latch on to the teats inside the pouch...Koalas are not that friendly and many, if not all have a form of Chlamydia... we drive on the Left side of the road and our cars are right hand drive, we have 6 states, Queensland ( where I live) New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania ,.. and 2 territories, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory ( where our parliament is)...Australia can be very dangerous if traveling alone, especially out west where there is scarce water ( a large portion of the country is basically desert ) this is why 90% of the population is within a few hundred km / miles from the coastline. In fact Queensland has many contrasts from rain forests in the north, barrier reef to the east, desert/ outback to the west and places like the gold coast in the south, with beaches all up and down the coast...we range from bushfires to floods, cyclones and droughts and can have all of these at the same time in different places, it is over 2600km from one end to the other or about 29 hours of driving from top to bottom, and that is just our state ( roads are fairly crappy ) ...feel free to visit, but be prepared to have some time up your sleeves you will need heaps of it if you want to try and cover the lot.. :)

Daniel Gardecki yeah Sydney is one of the most dangerous because they have the Funnel Web spider which can kill you but it isn’t agressive as long as you don’t mess with them. They do live in Urban areas though. Melbourne you get big spiders with Hunstmans, but they are the most harmless spiders you can find.

@@PeterAtkinson I'm pretty sure he saw both of those while he was there, and I'm quite sure it was the *Funnel-Web* one which was in the toilet. My other mate has spent at least 5 years in the 2010's, maybe more travelling around the world. He spent around a year visiting most, if not all of the states in the *US,* while my best mate was spending around 3 months living in *Ecuador.* When they came back they tried to get me to go to *Australia* with them, but I was worried about money and not being able to get jobs while travelling, so I didn't go. They spent around a year to 18 months in *Australia,* and around 6 months in *New Zealand.* My best mate came back home, while my other mate carried on travelling for a couple of years to places like *Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Cambodia, Egypt, China, Japan, Iceland* etc. Basically every interesting country with world wonders. Then he came back home for a year or two, before he went back travelling the world again, which I'm pretty sure included some countries in *Europe.* Since my best mate has been back he's got married, had kids, bought his own house and travelled to places like *Ireland, Germany, Czech Republic* and various *Scandinavian* countries. I can't understand how they managed to earn enough money to travel from country to country while travelling. Maybe it was easier than I thought, or maybe it's because they went to college and are qualified in trades like *joinery* and *printing.* I wish I could turn back the clock 15 years, get some useful qualifications, and go travelling with them. The only places I've been outside of the *UK,* are *Spain, France, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Mallorca,* and *Corfu.*

You’d be better to sell it and buy a new one. Having the steering wheel on the left side but driving on the right is very difficult. The wheel on the right helps you naturally drive correctly.
