But honestly, you can't take the piss out of Anzac biscuits. These were invented by our beautiful grandmothers and great grandmothers, who were living on food rations during the first world war, and knitting socks for our boys every night. They were told to make something that we could send over to our boys in Europe to lift their spirits and put something in their stomachs, because they were starving. And, our beautiful, dear grandmothers, and great grandmothers, went to their cupboards to find exactly what they expected to find, that the cupboards were bare. But, some how they managed to find a heap of rolled oats and golden syrup, and they invented a biscuit just from that. And, it was exactly what the doctor ordered, it was high in fibre, high in energy, and high in calories. Which was exactly what our boys, living in trenches in France and Turkey, needed. So, please don't take the piss out of them, because my Grandmother made them for my Grandfather (even though they fought like cats and dogs hehe) and I love them both equally. This is something that really IS sacred to us.

They are called Shapes because each flavour (box) has a different shape, not each biscuit in a box. Meat pies are what any Aussie understands you are talking about if you say “pie”. For a sweet one you’d have to say the fruit - apple pie, etc. Meat pies are flaky pastry tops with shortcrust pastry bottoms filled with meat in gravy, best eaten topped with tomato sauce (we don’t have ketchup because we don’t allow corn syrup as an ingredient due to the links with obesity and diabetes.) Vegemite is eaten with a very thin spread on plenty of butter on toast, bread, crackers. Also good with cheese on a sandwich.

Milo is also a kiwi classic. Milo and Nesquick might be made by Nestle and made in similar ways, but they don't taste alike at all, Nesquick is a lot sweeter and more like chocolate milk while Milo is Milo(?). It's kind of hard to explain the taste of it, I guess it tastes less plastic.

Ashtyn is right, He plays up the dislike of Americans just for comedy sake. The meat pie is not Sheppards pie which has potato on top of the meat. Our meat pie is pastry filled only with meat. Whilst Isaac was over doing his rant about Americans, the Americans who tasted the food were surely overreacting as well. For example I’m guessing that you have potato chips over there, in which case they could hardly be much different to ours. I’m pretty certain that none of you would spit them out into a bin .I’m sure if you guys tasted all those things that were featured you would enjoy them. Vegemite is an acquired taste, but he’s right about the way you eat it. A piece of buttered bread with only the thinnest layer of Vegemite on it. If you cake the Vegemite onto the bread, it will be too strong a taste. Only a very strange person would not love Tim Tams.

I put a small amount of hot water with milo, I put a big fucking scoop in then a tiny amount of hot water to work it into a nice sludge then I add the milk and the milo is perfectly mixed in. It isn't overwhelmingly sweet which is probably what they were expecting and probably why they didn't like it.

I don't understand why Americans think vegemite is sweet. It's not like Nutella, It is savoury, You have it on a sandwich or toast with butter and a scraping of vegemite, you do not have it by itself that's gross. There is a place in LA called Australian Pies and Sausages, they make our meat pies and sausage rolls and they ship all across the USA, you should get some, they are delicious they also sell some Aussie cakes and slices. f you try Milo you need to make it like you make coffee, like either hot milk or hot water, if you choose hot water then you add a little cold milk to add some creaminess and sugar if you like. Hope this helps.
