Yeah but... there is no A/C in domestic homes in the UK so... we get no break from very warm temps. Plus, what no-one is addressing is the fact that the UK is an OCEANIC CLIMATE, so it's not the level of heat per se, it's the intense humidity that comes with it, with NO A/C! I've been to Luxor in Egypt in the last week of August and it got to about 104-113F and that was a hell of a lot more comfortable to me than our summer in the UK purely because of the lack of any humidity, Egypt having a very dry heat.

I like around 21°C. My twin bro married an English lady,, lives there. He said at 25°C they call it a heatwave, and older folk are dying. Our summer is in the high 30's all the time, sometimes higher. If it gets hot, wear loose cotton clothes, put a water sprayer in the fridge, spray your face and clothes and put it back in and lay spread eagled on the couch wait for your clothes to dry, then do that again. We don't have aircon here, many folks do, too exy for me though. 44°C is too darn hot to do anything, you have to do stuff before brekky, or after dark, if it cools down. Eating a big meal is out of the question. Salads are good without the dressing or mayo. Down south in the snowfields, folks eat more or get skinny. Yes we do have vegemite sangas. Untoasted bread for lunches. A little goes a long way. Kids like tiger toast, with strips of cheddar on them, melted under a grill. My sister loves cottage cheese on her vegemite toast, I prefer avocado. We start babies with a little bit in their mashed vegetables. Some get some on a teaspoon and swirl in hot water until they get the right colour for a tea or a broth. The yeast extract, is made with the hops left after making beer. It is actually quite nutritious.

Yeah i'd go with that last statement, we do need to stop moaning about the weather. It did get up to 40 a couple of times this year and everyone lost their shit again. It never bothers me, i've got back & front windows so i get a through breeze & just take the duvet out of it's cover to sleep. It's fine. We're not set up for it longterm coz noone has air con - we literally do not need it 99% of the time - so that's why people die in the 'heatwaves' there's just no escape from heat that does come out of nowhere and is unusual to us. Still - no excuses for moaning about it. Frankly there's nowhere i'd rather be on a gorgeous hot summer day than Yorkshire, preferably at the beach. It'll soon be raining stair rods again, so we should ALWAYS make the most of it when it's nice.

Doesn't really take into account the fact that all UK houses are built to insulate heat. my house has 3 layers of bricks and 2 layers of insulation. None of us have air conditioners, and to be frank, we are best suited to overcast weather. People in hot countries live like that all/most of the time, but here, we have had the wettest summer, the coldest winter, and the hottest summer for the last 40 years all within the last few years,, and since we spend 95% of the year between 7C (44F) and 18C (64F) - were not really good at coping with it. The UK doesn't really have the infrastructure build for super hot or super cold temperatures. it's not particularly fun being on a bus that can be both 30C (86F) and 1C(33F). When we do have weird horrible heatwaves it's a weird novelty, and really, the news has to tell people basic things you wouldn't hear in other climates. It's 12C (56F) here right now at 2am, and tbh it's a bit too warm

Im from New Zealand i have to agree with the Aussie as I've been living in Australia for 26 years. Ive never seen a snake anywhere in the open or in some rural places I've only seen them in reptile parks I have seen poisonous spiders just redbacks but the old flip flops does the trick bull ants or fire ants bite you rarely come across them but the pain goes away after an hour or so it like a real bad bee sting.croc only live in the tropical North of Australia so don't go swimming up there.some big spiders like the huntsman are good they keep other pestski bugs away they look big and hairy but harmless im more afraid of the big flying cock roaches.heat here in summer is muggy and sticky and very hot but it hasn't been that bad in the last few years and Im from New Zealand where you can hide under a tree where the shade will cool you down. 45 degrees in Australia is like 120 in America causes Americans like big numbers so they uses different measurements. New Zealand sun burns you more than it does in Australia thats a fact we just don't have the sticky muggy humidity its quick and instant in New Zealand. But everything poisonous in New Zealand caught a ride in shipping containers like the Australian white tail spider and redback spider but they will kill you if you really have a bad allergic reaction but there anti venom for the bites and again nothing the good old flip flops won't fix.

Had to laugh. I live in the same city as Izac. When he said the average temperature in the UK in summer is 20 degrees C. It's the 4 of May, so the end of autumn in Australia, winter starts in 1st of June and it 19 degrees C hear today so 66.2 f and in summer it's consistently 40 degrees C 104 f.

Suburban Sydney hit 48.5 deg. C a few summers ago (119.3 deg. F), before the bush-fires. Our usual cycle is 'Drought (5-10 yrs) along with extreme heat, huge bush-fires, then Floods'. The high UV radiation can give you a sunburn on an overcast day, that why we are the skin cancer capital of the world and have the most advanced treatments. Yes, we are very aware of this and mostly catch it early, why we can still treat it. Sunscreen is an absolute essential.

My house hear in West Australia is bricks and mortar. no air con. just a pedestal fan in each room to circulate the hot air. After 2 days of continual heat, the bricks stay hot and heat the house. When I get in my car which sits in the driveway, the temp is usually around 60 degree celsius. I have to leave a towel over the steering wheel and gear stick, otherwise I burn my hands driving. Our work has a policy of sunscreen and hat if we go outdoors, even in the coller times as the uv index is brutal. Summer nightime temp averages around mid 20's, but during a heatwave, it will be around 30 degrees celsius. I feel the most for workers like roadworks, roofers and miners or any manufacturing industry in a huge shed. Their temps can get above 50degrees celsius working condintions, and they dont take a water bottle to work, the take a 10litre flask of ice that is all water by smoko and hot water by lunch. PS you can actually fry an egg on the pavement or even the bonnet of your car in summer.

Hi I am new to your channel...I emigrated from the UK to Australia back in 1970 with my wife and 4 young children, we live in Central Victoria which is one of the coolest places to live on the mainland but yes it does get very hot in the summer time up to 46C. Melbourne gets quite a lot of rain throughout the year but we live 200 miles inland and get very little rain, as an example I can tell you truly that our Granddaughter did not see rain until she was 12 years old and that was only because we went away on a camping holiday with her down to the coastal area where they get plenty of rain, people there thought she was crazy playing in all the large puddles...lol

Our homes are built specially for our typically cold climate. Which in turn creates a very different view and perception of heat, a 30 degree day for us is pretty gruelling while you may see 30 degrees as winter and I can tell you objectively that 30 degrees is much more pleasant in Australia than Britain... our houses are designed to keep in as much heat as possible while your houses are made to expel heat. I am a 60 year old Aussie mum, who grew up learning to NEVER walk on concrete in bare feet in summer. My son was also taught this but forgot and took out the rubbish and got burn blisters on his feet. No sympathy. This summer we had only 1 day over 40, the coolest summer of my lifetime. It’s not humid here in Victoria, it’s a very dry heat, and 6 days of over 40deg is too much even for us. Never take insult at his comments. Australia and England have this love hate relationship. They know we just like revving them up. It's all in good jest. Don't take it seriously even when he pays out the States. Re temps,Australia is the same size as the U.S. but only has 25M as most of the country doesnt have enough rainfall to support a population. Alice Springs is a town in the middle of the country with very low rainfall though experiences some remnant storms from NW cyclones in summer. Australia's weather is quite varied in temperature and humidity. In the south,Perth,Sydney,Melbourne and Adelaide experience temperate climate weather. Think coastal California. Melbourne like San Francisco. Perth and Adelaide like a slighter cooler LA. The east coast is more humid. Sydney in the south through to Brisbane in the north (Queensland). The state is like Florida just about 15 times the size! Mainly subtropical. In the north there are crocs. It doesnt snow in the populated areas on the coast but during winter,the Great Dividing Range (think a mini Rockys) that runs inland through Victoria and NSW,has good snow on the upper slopes. Ski season starts in 3 weeks (June 10 to September (early spring)). It never gets as cold as Minnesota and I know how cold it gets there! So temps are mainly 45F min to 63F max,give a take a few degress, during winter in Melbourne,Perth,Adelaide,Sydney and south with most rain. Summers are average mins of 60 to 70F with average maxs between 85F to 90F. Adelaide and Perth can have heatwaves like 115F for 3 days plus with 85F nights. Think Phoenix Arizona. Hot and dry summers. Sydney more wet and humid. Where it is really stinking hot is the NW and Northern Territory. Record of 140 consecutive days over 100F in a town called Marble Bar in the NW. Darwin in NT is typical of hot,really hot and fucng hot. Humid as all hell and still 90F in winter. Think Miami plus 15F with more humidity. So check a map for all of these places. Like America,it's so diverse in culture and climate but Australian humour is very dry. We don't take ourselves seriously. Most are chilled out. We like taking the micky (piss) out of poms and you yanks but dont take it offensively. View as a form of affection. Stirring you up looking to take the bait. Just don't take it out on delicacies like Tim Tams or ANZAC biscuits (cookies) then we do get damn serious! Hey and we're sort of use to most yanks abusing the use of Vegemite. In Melbourne, we don't get the humidity only here or there, it's mainly Brisbane and other states. We also get cool Summer nights around 90% of the time so sleeping is a breeze pun intended. But boy do we get scorching hot days over 40 + degrees Celsius. So ye insanely HOT. Winter in Melbourne is freezing. Being around 6 hours away from the Antarctic Sea we get that chill that goes right through the bones. This only happens in Melbourne state, because we are the closest to the Antantic so it's horrendously painful. Oh, and Melbourne can and so often gets what we call here 4 seasons in one day, so you always have to carry an umbrella with you and clothes to fit the constant weather changes. Again, this only happens in Melbourne. In this particular case, it has nothing to do with Global warming it's been happening for decades and decades before Global warming was even a thing. Just a bit of trivia for Ya. 👍🇦🇺🇦🇺

The humidity can go from lower than 10% as high as 100% The outback hottest lower than 10% it’s like crispy as not real good for a driving day as everything is running at maximum temperature and your vehicle can catch fire if you get it hot enough as cars are always catching fire and the trucks in the outback it’s a regular occurrence and no firetrucks for hundreds of kilometres Gently Burns to a crisp
