Picture an older, stern woman with a watch permanently affixed to her wrist, brandishing a clipboard like a weapon - meet my inner timekeeper. This ever-vigilant presence, constantly ticking away, was born from a deep-seated dread of disappointing others and the fear of trouble's consequence. With her ceaseless vigilance, my world was dominated by scarcity of time, a fear of missing out, and an overwhelming anxiety that I could never quite shake. But through a journey of self-discovery, I've been learning to separate myself from this anxious timekeeper, trying to navigate life without her constant ticking in my ear.
The power of pausing, of taking a breath, and being mindful of our energy and resources has been transformational for me. I've turned to practices like breathwork to not only manage time but to fully live in the present moment. The realization that we can't seize every opportunity that comes our way is a hard pill to swallow, but the freedom it brings is unparalleled. Join me, as we traverse this path towards understanding the true value of our time, embracing the art of slowing down, and gaining the courage to say no. Together, we will explore ways to manage this inner anxious timekeeper and make peace with her constant ticking.
