While I totally understand what you're saying, some people may need some of GT's famous whiteboard artwork to understand canopy coverage. I think some people are getting confused with the word "floor" when you're really just talking about the internal dimension of the tent wall to wall 2x4, 3x3, 4x4 and so on. Simply put Gt is talking about filling out 'Half' the width of your tent wall to wall with canopy before you flip to flower. In a 4x4 you have a length and width equal to 16 square feet, so half of that would be 8 square feet. Once your plant or plant's (Canopy) takes up 8 square feet of space that leaves you with 8 square feet to fill out horizontally during stretch. Of course Vertical training has a bit to do with it. Think about it like a fancy water fountain, as the plant gets taller it also spreads out wider at the same time. It's just a way of Not having a bunch of empty space in your tent once your plants are ready to harvest, or the opposite where there is no air flow towards the end risking the health of the plants. that's how I see it.

So how do you get the flowers ripe it’s a 63 day strain peanut butter breath and its day 70 they still haven’t turned cloudy or amber
@WheelgunsOnWheels8 ай бұрын
The numbers are an average target number when grown perfectly in ideal conditions with no stressors. At best they’re a ball park figure. Just keep going and they will eventually ripen. I had an 8 week strain go 12 weeks and not a single amber in the whole set. Go 10 weeks and see how they look. Some just never turn amber.

Love that even on vacation your out here answering questions! Thanks for the info! My question is around nutrients…. I want to stop paying the green tax for nutes and have been looking at the garden supply store what kind of n-p-k numbers for a mix should I aim for I was kind of under the thinking get the tomato nutrients and I should be good but what are your thoughts?
@stonedin6048 ай бұрын
The ones I was looking at are granular slow release organic inputs; all purpose (6-8-6), flower and vegetable (10-15-20), rose food(6-12-16), Azalea(10-8-6), fruit tree and berry(4-20-20), bulb food(3-15-8). Basically just wondering what kind of numbers work best for our purpose?

Oh they are from Garden Works it’s a garden supply place in my area… and these come as a 2kg box for $12.99

Slow release mineral based nutes are not ideal for an indoor grow as it’s hard to fine tune it if you have a deficiency and nearly impossible to remedy it if you get a toxicity. They’re great for ornamental outdoor flowers in your yard, but the speed of changes in your tent specimens requires a more timely reaction. General hydroponics runs an affordable line of a 3 bottle set and a few optional additives. Sure it’s like 50 bucks for the set but you can use it for like 6 grows so that’s almost 3 years worth making it less than 10 bucks per year. I’ve been gardening since 2017 and I’m on my 2nd set which is still 90% full.
