Hey everyone, Viltė here, the girl who stutters in the video :D First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to Ammar & Staffan (and their coolest videographer!) for coming to Lithuania. We may be small, but we have the biggest hearts, so huge thanks for filling them up. In my wildest dreams I couldn't imagine to see you guys not on screen but in real life. It's still surreal. And thank you for showing up to our festival (can't wait for everyone to come next year! Open invitation) Yes Theory family, you are all invited to Lithuania, at all times. It's happy here. I promise you that :) Love!

Just to add a bit of context, the Hill of Crosses was completely demolished for several times during the USSR, but every time Lithuanian people would recreate it and bring even more crosses. Death can never win over Life. I'm so happy that you've visited my country. And you chose the most relevant, iconic places, vital for every Lithuanian's identity. Happy to see us happy and sharing happiness with you, guys!

But what about the Three Crosses Monument (Trijų kryžių kalnas), designed by Polish-Lithuanian architect Antoni Wiwulski (Lith.: Antana Vivulskis)? - Or the earliest documented name of the city in which it again stands: „Volumus enim episcopos, sacerdotes, religiosos ordinis [...], quibus iam ereximus duas ecclesias in civitate nostra regia, dicta Vilna, et aliam Novgardia, ad quas nobis hoc anno quatuor fratrem scientes polonicum, semigallicum ac ruthenicum [...]” ? Clearly no source of happiness in the Lithuania of today.

Best country to be young, with one of highest % of suicides and youth suicide in all of Europe and one of highest % of emmigrants especially in the group of 25- 34 yo (12-25k a year emmigrating) ? When the country is so GREAT for young people, why do young people emmigrate and commit suicide so much more than EU average? Especially in the category of university graduates?

Hello from Indonesia. Last year, I lived in Australia, and my landlady is Lithuanian. She was the kindest person during my time in Australia. She would sometimes give me her handmade cake and allowed me to use all the items in the kitchen. She even lent me a warm blanket during the winter as I didn't have one. I hope God blesses her in Australia. And one more thing, she always gave me advice and shared her knowledge about Europe because I plan to pursue my master's degree there. I am happy to have gained so much knowledge about European life and also learned more about my future courses. I have been fortunate to hear many stories about the beautiful country of Lithuania.

Hey y’all! I just arrived to Lithuania only in May, long story short, I’m in the U.S. Army and was sent here, originally I was going to Poland and I was so excited to go because I have a close friend I met back in the states and he lives in Warsaw and we haven’t seen each other in years. But I got news I was no longer going to Poland but instead to Lithuania, and if I’m being honest, I was not happy at all! 😒 Being from the states I have never left my country till this May, so when I thought I was going to Poland, a more popular country in Europe, I couldn’t wait. But instead I got Lithuania, and the only thing I knew about Lithuania was that they’re great at basketball 😅 But I tell you what, this country is amazing! I met someone from Lithuania that helped me see the beauty of this great country! Every opportunity I get I go to Vilnius to just walk around (or scooter around 😂) and just am amazed by the culture here. And to see a city that has gothic architecture, modern construction, and Soviet style monuments and buildings all at once is a sight to see! I can’t wait to explore more and am looking forward to visiting Kaunas soon as I can! This country is definitely a gem that needs to be more publicized and Yes Theory has gave it its spotlight it so deserves! This country will now forever hold a special place in my heart, and will definitely visit again when my time here is done 👍

The first destination I chose for traveling as an adult were the three Baltic as they always interested me and weren't too far away. I visited in early February and it was very cold, but when I reached Vilnius towards the end of my journey, it actually unintentionally matched with their national holiday - and coming from Germany, I could have never began to imagine people walking through the streets, singing in celebratation of their country together (in the middle of winter!). It was very inspiring to me and it is still one of my favourite traveling memories.

Invaders built us a prison and we turned it into a rave house. That sums up a story of a long fight for liberation with a happy ending. There are plenty of somber places for remembrance of what happened here too, yet it's important to remember the joys of freedom and liberty. They're unexpectedly kind and welcoming people and I've seen a warmth that I believed was exclusive to my side of the world, Morocco. Moreover, it was very inspiring to see that the youth realises very clearly the generational trauma caused by the soviet occupation and is actively work on collective healing, which I believe led to an overall very mature young society. I now happily celebrate Lithuanian independence day and those shots of Šaltibarščiai(aka pink soup) got me very nostalgic. I remember signing the petition and recruiting as many people as possible from the nearby crowd to do so as well, my friends included. Forty years later, it’s so gratifying to see this generation of Lithuanians collectively working towards the best future for their country. Your visit to the jail and Hill of Crosses was extremely emotional and reminded me of my own visit to Kilmainham Gaol (Jail) in Dublin, where I could feel the souls of the departed in the executioner’s courtyard. Dear Lithuanians, Unfortunately we have the same history for the last 200 years or so.. that's why i know exactly how it feels to start from the beginning because both of our country's are going through the same ups and downs. Even in the hardest times (2 wars with "Ruzzia" in almost 30 years and still these days our countries' 20 % of territories is still occupied..) you had our backs no matter what and for that i want to truly say thank you from the bottom of my heart! We, Georgians admire you guys for everything that you've done to us, especially in the last years when the Bill was passed in Lietuva about changing our country's name from "Gruzija" (which was originated from Russian Kingdom) to "Sakartvelo" (Which we call our country in our native language). We truly respect your dignity and solidarity towards to us and and what's more, we respect your strict policies against our enemy! I want to say a lot about the "Soviet Regime" but i'll try to make it shorter. To people who's countries might not suffered by the Regime, i just want to say that it was the hardest times in our countries histories. Only in Georgia 1.5 million people (who just wanted to live happily and peacefully in their homeland) were shot and a lot more were deported from their land.. Just realize how many people were shot or either deported in whole Soviet Union by the regime. I truly believe that we, the post-soviet countries (especially the eastern european countries), by sticking together will defeat our enemy once and for all! As a person who's Lithuanian 🇱🇹 and also a youth worker my heart sings while watching this video ❤ This video totally shows the essence of our country's spirit and transformation: how love, creativity and kindness of our generation can lift us up from the dark past, transform the negativity into the light and to help everyone feel understood, loved and accepted. Your videos had been inspiring me a lot for the past almost seven years - as a person, and as a youth worker who goes through life with love, support and kindness for every young person, who comes with the ask for help. Proud to be a small part of growing the light in every young Lithuanian person and then watching them spreading that light they got to the other people 🥰

I've recently come back from a trip to Vilnius, Lithuania, and watching this video illustrated exactly how I felt, that Lithuania is a truly magical, proud and resilient nation. The country is, in many ways, still recovering from its tumultuous past, yet of all the baltic states, it's the most accessible in my eyes. There's a spirituality that hums throughout this hallowed land - on a walking tour I learnt about Lithuania's pagan roots, and that mysticism shone through throughout my time discovering Vilnius, as if etched into every cobblestoned street. The people are open, witty and articulate, their connection to nature is so deeply felt, and the broader Lithuanian culture is fascinating. I felt at peace visiting Vilnius, there's a stillness present here, a joy that was so refreshing. Thank you for making such a beautiful video. Your commitment to exploring the world is beyond inspiring, not only for I, but for the millions of people who watch your content.

I have been watching your videos for years and starting tearing up when I saw this video was about Lithuania! My great grandparents came to the US from Lithuania through Ellis Island and it was so painful for them to leave their beautiful country. They tried really hard to build a Lithuanian community in Brooklyn. Growing up, I was always reminded by my grandparents and mom how proud I should be to be Lithuanian and to have a Lithuanian name. Me and my boyfriend went to Greek island zakynthos last two weeks. I finally experienced something like yes theory, I was so thirsty so went to a shop for water, the water was only 80p. But I had no coins, no cash and could only pay card, I said oh never mind and the shop owner, a hunch back old woman said ‘take it, I don’t want anyone to be thirsty’ turns out something happened to her son due to lack of water. We came back and gave a tenner to her, while she didn’t want to accept it we told her it was for her kindness. We were speechless about her kindness. Because of you guys, I went on an airplane after years of agoraphobia, but I also asked locals if they could help us, I’m so scared of rejection, yet you guys inspired me and my boyfriend to … as you say… seek discomfort. We are thinking of actually rocking some merch now. Thank you for inspiring us. I know it’s small, but hope you see this and realise the incredible things you are doing. P.s. because of you guys I invited a waiter to come and travel his island he has never properly explored, sadly he couldn’t but he certainly was happy to see us a few days after and remembered us

Turns out German high ranking military officer was living in the same building. Soon he understood that my grandfather is hiding from German authorities. But the officer... he did not turn him in. He was a decent human being. My grandmother was sent to Germany as a work force to look after kids of high ranking Germans.
